Episode description

John and Patsy Ramsey published a New York Times bestseller in 2000 titled The Death of Innocence and gave a sitdown interview to Barbara Walters, steadfastly maintaining that no one from their family had killed JonBenét.

2006 - Patsy dies as teacher confesses

In 2006, Patsy succumbed to cancer, coinciding with the year when John Mark Karr, a teacher, confessed to the murder of her daughter. However, Karr was later exonerated as his DNA did not correspond to the samples discovered at the crime scene.

2008 - Ramsey family cleared through touch DNA

In 2008, the Ramsey family was exonerated through the use of touch DNA technology, leading to a letter of apology from the Boulder authorities. However, despite this development, doubts and public perception persisted.

Over the years that followed, the family has remained steadfast in their pursuit of justice. In 2015, John Ramsey once again engaged in a conversation with Barbara Walters to revisit the details of the case.

The subsequent year saw Burke, JohnBenét's brother, granting an interview to Dr Phil, vehemently asserting his innocence.

In his relentless quest to uncover the truth behind his daughter's tragic fate, JonBenét's father has consistently urged Colorado authorities to conduct new and more comprehensive DNA tests. Last year, he delivered a speech at CrimeCon, an annual weekend gathering for true crime enthusiasts, authors, and investigators.
