At this time, the police have limited information and no suspects are currently in custody. However, based on the preliminary investigation, the police do not believe there is an ongoing risk to the community.

In response to these senseless acts of violence, Moscow Mayor Art Bettge expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and the community as a whole. Due to the ongoing investigation, only limited information can be shared to ensure the integrity of the case.
Additionally, Chief Green issued a statement urging empathy, flexibility, and cooperation from the police force. While the preliminary investigation suggests that there is no immediate community risk, the police are encouraging their employees to support students who wish to return home and spend time with their families.

Moscow Police have stated that the killings were carried out using an "edged weapon such as a knife." As of now, no suspects have been apprehended, and the murder weapon has not been recovered, according to the police.

Furthermore, investigators have concluded, based on the preliminary investigation, that this was a targeted and isolated attack, posing no immediate danger to the general public, as per the police statement.
