The episode describes the 2019 Northern British Columbia homicides, which occurred between July 14–19, 2019. Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky are believed to have killed Lucas Fowler and Chynna Deese, before killing Leonard Dyck within a six-day timeframe.
