Publishing phenomenon Matthew Reilly is known for his action/thriller novels. His first book, Contest, was self-published in 1996. After being knocked back by every major publisher in Sydney, he produced 1,000 copies of Contest himself, and eventually won a publishing deal with Pan Macmillan. The rest is history and a self-publishing fairytale that ends up with Matthew being becoming an international best seller. His first book with Pan Macmillan was Ice Station, followed by Contest, Temple and many more. He has sold over 7.5 million copies of his novels worldwide. He is the author of over a dozen novels and novellas. More recent ones include The Tournament, The Great Zoo of China and Troll Mountain.
