Mufti Ismail Menk

Muslim Centralqurancentral.com
Mufti Ismail Musa Menk, widely known as Mufti Menk, is a globally recognized Islamic scholar, motivational speaker, and educator from Zimbabwe. While his primary fame stems from his extensive lectures, public addresses, and social media presence, he is also known for his eloquent recitation of the Holy Quran, which he often incorporates into his talks and addresses. He is particularly appreciated for his clear pronunciation and heartfelt delivery. Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Mufti Menk undertook a profound journey of Islamic education from a young age. He began memorizing the Holy Quran and studying Arabic under his father, Mufti Musa Menk. He then pursued his higher Islamic education in Madinah, Saudi Arabia, where he attended the University of Madinah. He continued his studies specializing in Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) and other Islamic sciences. His education provided him with a strong foundation in Quranic studies, including Tajweed (the rules of proper Quranic pronunciation and recitation), under the guidance of various scholars during his academic journey. While he is not primarily known as a Qari (professional reciter who records complete Quranic recitations for public distribution) in the same vein as individuals like Abdul Basit Abdus Samad or Muhammad Siddiq al-Minshawi, his knowledge of the Quran and its recitation is evident in his public engagements. Mufti Menk is the Head of the Fatwa Department for the Council of Islamic Scholars of Zimbabwe. His influence extends far beyond Zimbabwe, as he travels globally to deliver lectures on a wide range of Islamic and social topics. His relatable style, emphasis on peace, tolerance, and interfaith harmony, and his ability to connect with diverse audiences have made him extremely popular worldwide. He has been recognized as one of The 500 Most Influential Muslims in the world. His contributions primarily focus on Islamic guidance, education, and motivational speaking, with the Quran forming the core of his message. While recordings of him reciting portions of the Quran are available, particularly as part of his lectures, he has not produced a full, dedicated Quranic recitation (Mushaf) recording for commercial distribution as a primary reciter.
