In 1993, there was a bloody confrontation between the federal government and the Branch Davidians religious cult in Waco, Texas. The event left a last impact on American culture, politics and the perception of religious freedom and government intervention. The tragedy became a symbol for anti-government movements, conspiracy theorists and religious groups.
