In Iceland's history of unusual crimes, the 2017 Bitcoin heist stands out. Utilizing the abandoned infrastructures of Keflavík, criminals executed a series of high-tech thefts, exploiting the area's ideal conditions for bitcoin farming. The so called “crypto caper” is a story involving ingenious yet flawed plans and culminating in a prison escape and international chase.
