For hundreds of years, God had been silent. Israel was waiting for the promised Messiah to come. Finally, the time arrived. Angels announced Him, shepherds came to see Him, and magi came to worship Him. The Messiah was here, but Israel was looking for the wrong thing. They wanted a king that was a powerful warrior and leader. Instead, the Messiah came as a humble servant, who would die so His people could live.
