As followers of Jesus, we go after Him, not making a means of our own righteousness. Going after Him means going outside the camp to bring light where there is darkness, freedom where there is bondage, and life where there is death. This is our sacrifice of praise as we make much of Jesus in word and works.
The path of faith involves trusting godly leaders who demonstrate Christ’s character, while ultimately keeping our deepest trust in God, who can redeem and work through any situation. Followers are called to imitate the faith of leaders who love God’s Word, display spiritual fruit, and genuinely care for people’s souls, submitting to their guidance while recognizing that God is the ultimate source of guidance and redemption.
As God’s people, we’re united in a shared mission. No matter your age—whether you’re 5 or 105—we’re all partners in the gospel. As followers of Jesus, we joyfully work side by side to share His good news and bring glory to God. And best of all, we get to walk this journey together, with our eyes fixed on Jesus!
Living by faith involves trusting in Jesus as the ultimate object of our hope, rather than in money or material possessions, which can lead us into ruin if loved excessively. This kind of faith leads us in contentment and stewardship, knowing that all things belong to God.
Living by faith impacts our everyday relationships, from entertaining strangers, to remembering those in prison, to honoring marriage and keeping the marriage bed undefiled. Our culture’s obsession with status, sex, and money can derail our faith journey, so we’re called to both pursue positive expressions of faith and courageously confront the sins that entangle us as acts of worship to God.
As the people of God, we have been called to pour out the love of God onto others. We do this by loving our brothers and sisters in Christ, showing hospitality to all people—even strangers! And by remembering the neglected and forgotten in our midst. And as we do this, the love of God will be multiplied in our community as the gospel of Jesus transforms our world.
We are warned against rejecting Jesus, knowing that God’s future shaking that will remove all that is unstable, leaving only His unshakable kingdom. Those of us in Christ will remain, having been made righteous, and therefore are invited to worship God with gratitude as we live by faith.
Followers of Jesus are not of those who have to stand far off from God in fear and insecurity, attempting to make ourselves right with God through the law. But rather, we have come to Mt. Zion, the kingdom and presence of God, with full assurance and freedom through the finished work of Jesus alone.
As followers of Christ, God has already redeemed and secured us. So we should strive for peace with everyone and pursue holiness rather than allowing any division of bitterness to take root or trading the enjoyment of our spiritual inheritance for momentary gratification.
What we see in Hebrews 12:3-11 is a beautiful picture of a loving Savior drawing near to us in our suffering and a good Father giving us meaning and purpose as he uses that suffering to affirm our status as sons and daughters and shape us more and more into the magnificent character of Jesus.
As a people of faith, we are surrounded by a great crowd of faith-examples that have gone before us. In light of this, we consider and throw off the weights and sins that hinder us from living on mission today. And as we do this, we set our gaze on Jesus—the object of, the starter of, and the finisher of our faith! To Him be the glory forever and ever!
This Easter we not only celebrate that Jesus rose from the dead, but also that we have the miraculous opportunity as those who trust in Him to be brought from spiritual death to eternal life. Jesus did this for us by absorbing the destructive virus of sin, bearing its full consequences in our place so that our death would become His and His life would become ours in resurrection power!
This Good Friday, we remember and respond to the truth that Jesus’ death is our life. Jesus willingly took the punishment of sin upon Himself, offering forgiveness and eternal life, with the ultimate goal of reconciling those who trust in Him to God.
Jesus has made us alive through His gospel, calling us not only to believe but to live by faith. As a church, we stand at a pivotal moment—united, committed, and sent to reflect His glory. Rooted in the truth of the gospel, we boldly step forward as medics in a broken world, living out our faith through extravagant hospitality, fearless generosity, and daring mission!

Jesus brought us good news of the salvation of His Kingdom through His sacrificial death and victorious resurrection. Not only has He brought salvation to those who trust Him, but He also sends us as His ambassadors, living on daring mission to push back the darkness in proclaiming the good news of Christ.
God, by nature, is first, loves first, and goes first in all things—including generosity. He has created a world intended for life and abundance, not death and scarcity. He has generously given us all things, culminating in the giving of His Son for our life—calling us to trust His provision and generosity as we live our lives today and seek the Kingdom above all else.
As those who have received God’s lavish love through the gospel, we now have the privileged joy of joining Him in making His appeal to the world—serving others through His extravagant hospitality.
Our faith, though imperfect, is still a faith that can endure and overcome any circumstance of persecution or opposition because of who Jesus is and the eternal hope He has provided for us. We join those who have gone before us as those who know we have something better in Christ than anything this world can offer or take away.
The author of Hebrews invites us to choose a life of faith over a life of sight, even when faith is costly. Faith can lead to extraordinary outcomes, both in the immediate and long-term, while a life of sight often leads to destruction. Biblical community among followers of Jesus is vital in supporting and encouraging one another in this life of faith.
As a people of faith, we know that fear will inevitably find its way into our lives. However, this passage reminds us that we can still walk by faith when we are rooted in the One who authors it, strengthened through an abiding relationship with Jesus, and focused on the eternal reward that awaits us in Him.
Living by faith means that we don’t look to our present circumstances to determine God’s faithfulness. Rather as people of faith, we live by a present active response to the object of our trust: Jesus. In Christ, we can say, “I sought the Lord and He heard and He answered.” That’s why we trust him.

We are counted righteous and commended for belief in Christ alone, but that belief is always revealed in action. The examples of Abel, Enoch, and Noah show us that faith involves trusting in God’s character and promises, even when circumstances seem challenging or illogical. Such faith in God’s goodness and promises provide us the freedom to live in obedience.

The Scriptures provide us the choice between a wide, easy path leading to death and a narrow, difficult path leading to life. In Christ, by the power of the Spirit, we can walk the journey of the well-worn narrow path by engaging in rhythms of intimacy like solitude, prayer, and studying scripture in community to cultivate a deeper relationship with God, leading to the abundant life filled with joy, peace, and purpose.
God’s path for us, as described in Psalm 1, leads to life and freedom, rather than the world’s way that leads to destruction. Jesus’ teachings in Matthew 7 and John 14 further highlight this narrow path to life, which is difficult yet rewarding.
