Thursday 12th August 1886Attempted Criminal Assault in a Railway Train.
On Monday evening last a most determined attempt was made to commit an outrage upon a young lady in a railway carriage while on the journey from East Maitland to Morpeth. Fortunately the screams of the intended victim were heard the signals made to stop the train were observed, and the stopping made with such quickness that the scoundrel was caught almost as soon as the alarm was given.
