[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, good morning, and welcome back, or welcome to Morning Ray. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm Lan or Lana, your host, and today's episode is all going to be about the ends and outs of 2026. [SPEAKER_00]: What I'm announcing is N and what I'm announcing is out. [SPEAKER_00]: This will probably be a bit of a shorter episode. [SPEAKER_00]: Short and sweet, if you will, and then we'll get back to a bit of a chatty or longer episode [SPEAKER_00]: next week and the weeks to come.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm currently affecting this virus that everyone has. [SPEAKER_00]: I would say it's not too bad. [SPEAKER_00]: I hope it doesn't progress from this, but I have a bit of a scratchy throat, a bit of a cough feeling, a bit feverish, and I took a nap earlier today, and if you know me personally, I hate [SPEAKER_00]: Taking maps like it's the worst thing ever, but I was just so tired. [SPEAKER_00]: I also have been up since 5 a.m. teaching Pilates So I digress.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is a very snowy snowy day here in Toronto. [SPEAKER_00]: We got 20 centimeters of snow between last night and currently I think it's maybe has stop snowing. [SPEAKER_00]: I can't really tell because it's dark outside right now a shit ton of snow I woke up [SPEAKER_00]: and walked to the studio this morning and it was a ready like halfway up my shin. [SPEAKER_00]: It was getting in my snow boots, which is not ideal. [SPEAKER_00]: But very pretty from indoors nonetheless.
[SPEAKER_00]: I also got a new bird's paradise plant. [SPEAKER_00]: I kind of killed my last one. [SPEAKER_00]: So now we have a new little baby one. [SPEAKER_00]: She's so cute. [SPEAKER_00]: She's like six inches taller or something. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: She's not big at all. [SPEAKER_00]: I had like a massive one [SPEAKER_00]: feet. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm hoping to get her back to that. [SPEAKER_00]: I still have the pot that my other one was in.
[SPEAKER_00]: I disposed of Brooklyn. [SPEAKER_00]: My bird's a paradise yesterday. [SPEAKER_00]: Pat her since I moved into the department. [SPEAKER_00]: I bought it from the girl who lived in my apartment before me. [SPEAKER_00]: Sadly, she has died. [SPEAKER_00]: I tried to revive her maybe I should have waited till the spring when the plant was in dormant. [SPEAKER_00]: But I digress. [SPEAKER_00]: We have new beginnings.
[SPEAKER_00]: We have a cute little new [SPEAKER_00]: Birds paradise in my home, I rearranged my plants and it's making me really happy. [SPEAKER_00]: My monstera has been growing new leaves so clearly I'm doing something right. [SPEAKER_00]: That plant was in growing for really long time and now we have how many leaves we have. [SPEAKER_00]: We have seven leaves and eight one about to open. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that's pretty impressive.
[SPEAKER_00]: I only had like two [SPEAKER_00]: leaves on that plant for a really long time. [SPEAKER_00]: So all my plants are seem to be thriving. [SPEAKER_00]: Despite me not really knowing what to do to care for them, but I have this app called Planta, which I literally pay for. [SPEAKER_00]: I, my parents think I'm insane for saying that, but, you know what, it reminds me to water and mist and fertilize my plants. [SPEAKER_00]: It tells me what to do, how to do it and all of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so, you know what, my new plant, my monster is thriving because I got this app. [SPEAKER_00]: So I hope that my bird's paradise throws as well as much as my pathos, which I also got, I digress. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing a mock or like a community class at a new studio that I'm teaching at, kind of been hush hush about this. [SPEAKER_00]: Kat is almost out of the bag. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like half in half out, so I'm a little nervous.
[SPEAKER_00]: The teaching styles a little different. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a bit more choreograph than what I'm used to. [SPEAKER_00]: It's very timing-based. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm a bit nervous to teach, but I invited some of my friends to come to the class. [SPEAKER_00]: I think some instructors at the studio are gonna come and take class. [SPEAKER_00]: I always see those better teaching when the room is more full. [SPEAKER_00]: I really am just letting my friends maybe witness.
[SPEAKER_00]: Me fucking up when teaching. [SPEAKER_00]: I invited my boyfriend sister and her friend and I thought it would just be fun to have a fuller studio So I need to get prepped for that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I started planning on my class and I will say like even though I've been teaching for almost a year at this point Starting at a new studio is always nerve wracking and teaching again after taking a break was definitely nerve wracking But you just get right back into it and I'm trying not to get too much in my head, but I'm really excited for
[SPEAKER_00]: What this year holds with teaching, I think, Claudia's teaching and being a Plotty's instructor has really blown up at least on my algorithm. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm personally really excited to develop my develop and further my education. [SPEAKER_00]: As a Plotty's instructor, I'm doing a pretty intensive certificate this year, which again, I haven't really spoken about as much, and I'll probably discuss this more once.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm done majority of it, but it is a 300 hour course. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a globally recognized certification. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll be certified in classical mat and reformer Pilates, which I'm really excited about. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think this will also help me feel more confident in structuring my classes teaching classes and. [SPEAKER_00]: feeling like I know my shit a bit more and no one can discredit me in a way. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm really excited about that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think the weekend shirts are really great place to start. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a lower investment, lower cost, lower time investment. [SPEAKER_00]: They're a great place to kind of get your feet wet and I'm so grateful for. [SPEAKER_00]: The shorter weekend shirts that I have done at studios nearby me, but I'm really excited to fully dive in. [SPEAKER_00]: And this was always kind of my plan.
[SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember if I ever discussed this on the pod before and we'll get into the ins and outs shortly. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't want to chat your ears off too much. [SPEAKER_00]: But I knew that Pilate shirts are really expensive. [SPEAKER_00]: They cost pretty much like the same as [SPEAKER_00]: a university course here in at least Ontario in Canada.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so I don't want to spend a couple grand on a third and then find out that I hate teaching, not pursue it, and that money kind of just go in the trash. [SPEAKER_00]: So I decided to do a more affordable weekend. [SPEAKER_00]: It was like a three-day mat-sert back in October of 2024. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that gave me a really good baseline and the credibility [SPEAKER_00]: I think it was like $800 plus tax at the time.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think now it probably is sold for closer to 1,000 or 1,200 but it was a really great way to get my feet wet and if you're unsure about what you want to do after getting a shirt, if you're unsure if you're going to like it, if you can afford [SPEAKER_00]: to do both down the line. [SPEAKER_00]: I would definitely start with getting something that is a bit more affordable, not as time consuming. [SPEAKER_00]: See if you like it, get your few ads start teaching.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then once you've decided that, hey, this is something I really want to keep doing, then maybe invest in a more advanced and depth proper full-on Pilotty search. [SPEAKER_00]: Or you could just go straight into the full circuit. [SPEAKER_00]: They do have shorter ones. [SPEAKER_00]: Like the map plotties, assert that this company or the school is doing. [SPEAKER_00]: It's shorter. [SPEAKER_00]: It's only 40 hours as opposed to like 300.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's really the reformer portion. [SPEAKER_00]: That takes up a lot more. [SPEAKER_00]: But there's so many different options. [SPEAKER_00]: Just do your research. [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't think there's a wrong or right way to start. [SPEAKER_00]: I think movement is movement. [SPEAKER_00]: There's different ways to get started. [SPEAKER_00]: Like one of my friends is going to Bali to get her Pilates shirt. [SPEAKER_00]: One of my friends just did her yoga shirt and Bali.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like there's so many different ways to get certified. [SPEAKER_00]: If you guys want a full episode, maybe I'll save this for what I'm doing. [SPEAKER_00]: My certification again, like the more in-depth one that I'm doing. [SPEAKER_00]: So I can speak to that experience as well.
[SPEAKER_00]: But if you guys are interested, let me know on Spotify or in my DMs on Instagram, [SPEAKER_00]: if you would want a podcast episode surrounding how I knew I wanted to teach finding a certification program, what the certification training was like, what it was like starting to teach, what it was like getting hired, how to get hired, class planning, gaming confidence in the studio, formulating playlists, all that stuff, building your clientele, all that stuff, let me know,
[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't put one out because I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested in knowing, but I do seem to get quite a few questions on Instagram about it, so I thought I'd put it out there. [SPEAKER_00]: So definitely let me know if that is something that you want, and then that's something I can probably do early spring because I'm doing my search. [SPEAKER_00]: I started in March and it goes, it's in class Monday through Friday for eight weeks.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then I have to do my in-person experience, I have to do shadowing all these things, all these fun things. [SPEAKER_00]: But let's get into my current faves, then we'll get into our ins and outs of 2016. [SPEAKER_00]: I think this will be just like a fun light-hearted episode. [SPEAKER_00]: We've had like a lot of like very like meticulous.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is... [SPEAKER_00]: how I'm building my life in 2026 and I kind of just want to do something little fun in serendipitous kind of vibe, current faves. [SPEAKER_00]: I am obsessed with meals that are bowls. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I've always had this obsession, but lately since I'm cooking, I've noticed I have a thing for bowls. [SPEAKER_00]: And if you are a bowl hater, you [SPEAKER_00]: simply have not had the right type of bowl. [SPEAKER_00]: I love a bowl.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've been making a lot of crispy rice recipes. [SPEAKER_00]: They're all over my for you page and probably because I keep engaging with them. [SPEAKER_00]: But really loved the tuna crispy rice recipe. [SPEAKER_00]: I made the other day. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to make this chicken one. [SPEAKER_00]: There's also this chicken rice with bone broth recipe that I want to make. [SPEAKER_00]: I saw page Lorenz make one and then another recipe came up on my for you page.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've really been having fun cooking in the kitchen. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna be cooking for my boyfriend tomorrow night. [SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm gonna make us my turkey, greek, dill, meatballs. [SPEAKER_00]: They're really, really good with probably potatoes and some sort of veggie on the side. [SPEAKER_00]: But just really been having a lot of fun in the kitchen. [SPEAKER_00]: Having fun getting back to it and it feels good to be making home cooked meals.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's nice having a full fridge because I feel like my fridge looks like a [SPEAKER_00]: I joined a gym. [SPEAKER_00]: I signed up for any time fitness. [SPEAKER_00]: I haven't till tomorrow to decide if I want to keep it or not. [SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm going to keep it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a year-long commitment, but with high rocks in April and getting into strength training, I really wanted to have like a proper squat rack and gym equipment things to use.
[SPEAKER_00]: My building gym is pretty good. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I did a workout there today because it was super snowy and I couldn't be bothered to walk in the snow for 20 minutes. [SPEAKER_00]: I was wanting like a proper squat rack, a proper bench, more cardio equipment, all the things, and having a place to go. [SPEAKER_00]: And my friends, Jordan and Paige are also training at that gym, so then we could do leg day and stuff together. [SPEAKER_00]: They're also doing hierarchs.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just thought it would be a good investment. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'd say it's pretty affordable. [SPEAKER_00]: It's around $80 a month, which is a lot [SPEAKER_00]: cheaper than a lot of the bougie gems around now that I'm gonna be teaching at a studio and enjoy going to a lot.
[SPEAKER_00]: I do guys discounted rates on memberships and credits so I feel like my spending on my health and fitness is kind of leveling out and I'll have to obviously go through that budget because I said I was gonna budget that better this year but I'm really excited to be back in the gym and I love that [SPEAKER_00]: any time fitness isn't too big. [SPEAKER_00]: If you like, I've always gone to really big box gems. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I used to go to a good life fitness all the time.
[SPEAKER_00]: I was going to all take up for a bit, which is a really like locks massive gem. [SPEAKER_00]: And it can be a little bit daunting walking in there, especially as a girl. [SPEAKER_00]: I personally find, and it always takes me a while to gain my confidence in my comfort in the gem knowing where the equipment is and not feeling like. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what I'm doing, you know? [SPEAKER_00]: So being in a smaller gym definitely feels a lot less intimidating.
[SPEAKER_00]: They are opening an equinox kind of mirror I live, but I don't think it will be open until the end of the year. [SPEAKER_00]: So then probably I'll join that when this membership is up if I'm still living in the same area. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't really plan on moving. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I have been craving to move a little bit more midtown north of where I'm living right now. [SPEAKER_00]: I recently switched out my duvet.
[SPEAKER_00]: I had been wanting to get a new duvet for so long. [SPEAKER_00]: I had this really just like thin one of her my Kia that I got in sophomore, sophomore year of university. [SPEAKER_00]: It just wasn't the vibe. [SPEAKER_00]: I wanted like something very fluffy and elevated almost like a hotel duvet.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have a few friends my building and my friend Naomi, I gave her [SPEAKER_00]: Do you want my hash do Bay because I don't really like it and I got a new one and I've been trying to sell it So we did a little swap. [SPEAKER_00]: She got my hatch. [SPEAKER_00]: I got her hash do Bay and I actually really really love it I love the hash do Bay. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just the normal one. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll link it in the show notes [SPEAKER_00]: as always.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I love how heavy it feels and it's not too hot by any means. [SPEAKER_00]: It feels like kind of like a way to blanket but like not fully. [SPEAKER_00]: It feels so fluffy. [SPEAKER_00]: It looks so nice. [SPEAKER_00]: I think my duvet on my bed looks so much better. [SPEAKER_00]: Like before I just look kind of doll and flat and my bed looks so much heavier. [SPEAKER_00]: It looks like a hotel bed and I have my new flat sheets which you guys know I got off of way fair.
[SPEAKER_00]: 100% cotton chocolate brown ones and I just feel like my [SPEAKER_00]: giving right now, especially with awesome my silk pillow cases. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it's a vibe. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'll link all of my bedding stuff in the show notes before, so you can go browse, shop if you'd like, but those are my current faves. [SPEAKER_00]: But let's get into our ends and outs of 2020, six. [SPEAKER_00]: I think this is just like a little fun cheeky episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: Don't take anything to seriously kind of vibes. [SPEAKER_00]: Number one. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll kind of like list these off and explain a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess as we go, just so that it's not like so short lived and The episode isn't too second's long. [SPEAKER_00]: You can have a little shit chat a roux, but Number one home cooked meals. [SPEAKER_00]: I think you guys saw this one coming. [SPEAKER_00]: I really think [SPEAKER_00]: cooking armules at home is in.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's therapeutic. [SPEAKER_00]: It's good for the mind body and soul. [SPEAKER_00]: It's also cost-effective compared to ordering overeat, store-dash, skip, post-made, etc. [SPEAKER_00]: all the time. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's better for your body. [SPEAKER_00]: You know what you're putting in your body. [SPEAKER_00]: You can control the ingredients. [SPEAKER_00]: You can cater to your taste preferences. [SPEAKER_00]: And I just love cooking.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a really good skill. [SPEAKER_00]: to have to know how to make your favorite meals and get to experience and you can try different cuisines and I really just love cooking. [SPEAKER_00]: It's very therapeutic for me and I love cooking for others. [SPEAKER_00]: Prioritizing rest and recovery as much as our workouts.
[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like especially in the new year we can kind of get ahead of ourselves and think, oh we have to work out all the time and more is more and more is better and all this, but I really learned in the past year you're [SPEAKER_00]: especially where I went through quite.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would say like a drastic change with my parents and with my routine with regard to the gem that rest and recovery are so important especially if you're looking to change your body in any sort of way, if you're looking to build strength, if you're looking to slim down, lose body fat. [SPEAKER_00]: gain muscle mass, whatever it is. [SPEAKER_00]: If you're doing really explosive workouts, you're training for race. [SPEAKER_00]: A high rocks, a triathlon, your body needs to recover.
[SPEAKER_00]: It needs rest, and if you don't take rest of recovery, we'll find a way to force yourself into it, and that's usually through an injury, her motor training. [SPEAKER_00]: I think prioritizing rest and recovery is just so much more important than we think it is. [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of the times, and the more rest we get, the actually, the better we'll be able to perform in our workouts this stronger, we will feel. [SPEAKER_00]: With that said, less is more with everything.
[SPEAKER_00]: Everything in moderation, access of anything is a good take that and run with it and apply it to your life. [SPEAKER_00]: like think quality over quantity. [SPEAKER_00]: Financial literacy is in.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is hot to want to learn more about how to manage your money, what credit card benefits you can get, how to pay off your credit card, how to divide up your pay stub into your investments into your savings, what your burn rate should be, what a burn rate is, like it is hot to understand your finances, [SPEAKER_00]: to be curious about it and to want to better your education and knowledge of it to expand your knowledge and to want to be good with your money.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is not cute to be a hot mess when it comes to your credit card. [SPEAKER_00]: It is not cute to be in credit card debt and to think that you can just keep spending on this credit card. [SPEAKER_00]: You only want to spend whatever you can afford to pay back. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to be living outside your means. [SPEAKER_00]: That's not cute. [SPEAKER_00]: We're not doing that. [SPEAKER_00]: lifting weights. [SPEAKER_00]: Lifting weights is in.
[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of put it on the back burner quite extremely in 2025. [SPEAKER_00]: I think a lot of us did. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't neglect it entirely. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I definitely still was lifting weights here and there. [SPEAKER_00]: But I was not consistent with it at all and I missed that and it feels good. [SPEAKER_00]: Lifting weights again and it is really like confidence boosting matching sets. [SPEAKER_00]: I love a good matching set.
[SPEAKER_00]: I used to be a t-shirt and underwear girl for bed. [SPEAKER_00]: Now I love a good matching PJ set, and I think you guys have caught on to it. [SPEAKER_00]: You're always asking me, Lanna, where are your PJs from? [SPEAKER_00]: They're so cute. [SPEAKER_00]: I know, they're so cute. [SPEAKER_00]: They're so soft, cozy, comfy. [SPEAKER_00]: I love my skim's PJs. [SPEAKER_00]: I recently got PJs from Erie. [SPEAKER_00]: I think I want to get a pair from the gap.
[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't need that many more PJs. [SPEAKER_00]: I think I just want like a t-shirt and shorts or t-shirt and pantset, and then I'm golden. [SPEAKER_00]: workout sets, shirt and top for going out, that are matching pants and top. [SPEAKER_00]: I got this really cute set when I was in Cape Town. [SPEAKER_00]: It's by a brand called InSync. [SPEAKER_00]: I think I believe it's local to Cape Town. [SPEAKER_00]: It was so cute.
[SPEAKER_00]: Clothes that actually fit and flatter you. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I went through a phase, and I'm still kind of in it. [SPEAKER_00]: I still love a baggy gene. [SPEAKER_00]: I love a baggy top all of it.
[SPEAKER_00]: But, [SPEAKER_00]: I was kind of getting tired of looking schleppy all the time like it's been nice wearing a more fitted coat, more fitted pants, I'm fitted t-shirt doesn't have to be skin type because I feel like before I used to go either skin type or baggy can't tell if she's a girl or boy kind of vibe.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've been really embracing over the past few months buying clothes that just like fit and flatter my body and like over the past few years I've really learned what silhouettes, what [SPEAKER_00]: different tops and things look the best on my body type and learning that has made me feel so much more confident when getting dressed and putting together clothes. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I learned lower rise jeans look way more flattering on me than a high rise.
[SPEAKER_00]: A high rise really shortens my torso makes me look more stubby whereas like a longer tank top or t-shirt and then a low rise pant really accentuates my waist. [SPEAKER_00]: You know there's certain things that look better on different people. [SPEAKER_00]: protein and fiber. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like everyone was obsessed with protein and then like now we're kind of getting obsessed with just fiber. [SPEAKER_00]: I think both are extremely, extremely important.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think a well balanced diet is really hot. [SPEAKER_00]: Green natural hair color, but enhanced. [SPEAKER_00]: Think a chocolate gloss on brunette. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, just like enhancing your natural color, I think our natural hair colors are the most flattering with our skin tone. [SPEAKER_00]: I've been blonde. [SPEAKER_00]: I've done the blonde. [SPEAKER_00]: I've been red. [SPEAKER_00]: I did the red. [SPEAKER_00]: I've done baliage.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've done everything in between. [SPEAKER_00]: I've gone darker. [SPEAKER_00]: I've gone lighter. [SPEAKER_00]: I think when I'm the closest to my natural color, it looks the best and it flatters me the best. [SPEAKER_00]: Oral hygiene. [SPEAKER_00]: I will be honest with you guys. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm great at brushing my teeth. [SPEAKER_00]: Pretty good at using mouthwash. [SPEAKER_00]: I hate flossing.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is the one habit I cannot build, but I am determined to build it this year after being lectured by my gentle hygienist and my dentist about how it's impacting my gum health. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm determined to reverse any negative consequences of me not liking flossing by being consistent with flossing. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to try to do it at least once every other day, and my hygienist said, that's a great place to start.
[SPEAKER_00]: She never expects anyone to go from zero to 100, and that's kind of like working out, you know, you don't want to go zero to 100, holy shit. [SPEAKER_00]: My voice is getting a raspy over here, but I really want to be on top of my flossing if you have a wire. [SPEAKER_00]: behind your teeth, you know, those special super flosses are the worst and the best at the same time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, on to the next reading and being educated, no more brain rot, we love to read, we love to expand our vocabulary, we love to work on our brain health, our mental cognition is that other, a cognitive health, they're cognitive being, well being, I'm tired, you guys, but [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like especially for what I do for work. [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't really challenge my brain in the way that I want to be challenged.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, obviously, when it comes to teaching Pilates, a lot of things to different to think about and to put together. [SPEAKER_00]: But when it comes to social media, like, I'll be honest, it doesn't really kind of pick my brain the way I want it to be challenged and push.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so doing things like puzzles, mind puzzles, reading books, being curious, [SPEAKER_00]: doing my Pilates, where it's going to have a lot of anatomy, having to study for something, even like I discussed on a few episodes back, I really want to just practice doing math again, learning how to use that part, that part of my brain again, because I don't really use it. [SPEAKER_00]: And what I do for work, and I kind of miss thinking in that way, I think it's really healthy and good.
[SPEAKER_00]: For our brains to be challenged in that way because it's kind of like a muscle if you don't use it. [SPEAKER_00]: You lose it healthy relationships Toxic hot and cold this that and the other it is out. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want it anywhere near me I'm no longer accepting anything less than something healthy telling your friends you love them.
[SPEAKER_00]: So so important I contact I think I contact when you're talking to someone is not only one a sign of confidence to its respect [SPEAKER_00]: three. [SPEAKER_00]: It's hot. [SPEAKER_00]: It's attractive. [SPEAKER_00]: I know that anyone who has spoken to me has said that I hold really strong eye contact. [SPEAKER_00]: That it's a really positive feature. [SPEAKER_00]: My mom literally hold that in on me from a young age.
[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, if you're talking to someone, you look them in the eyes. [SPEAKER_00]: You will look them in the eyes when you're talking to them. [SPEAKER_00]: Foods and loafers. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why, but I almost get an egg wearing sneakers with jeans now. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'll still do it sometimes, but I much rather wear a leather boot, whether it's flat or with a heel or a leather loafer.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just looks a little bit more elevated, a little bit more classy, sophisticated mature, actually trying, like putting an effort. [SPEAKER_00]: It is cool to try. [SPEAKER_00]: It is so cool. [SPEAKER_00]: healthy hair, taking care of our hair, doing all the things. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm on a method on a journey to grow my hair to get it healthy, strong, long, full, luscious. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like my my big and more serum is starting to work.
[SPEAKER_00]: My hair line definitely looks thicker and I feel like I have a lot new baby hairs near the front. [SPEAKER_00]: So [SPEAKER_00]: That's tea. [SPEAKER_00]: And then lastly, for our last in that I have here finding your color palette slash tone for your clothes, your makeup, your hair color, nail polishes, all of that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think you will feel a lot prettier and more attractive when you find colors that flatter your skin tone and when you find the proper makeup to flatter your skin tone. [SPEAKER_00]: I follow this girl Kaylee on TikTok and Instagram, and I think I've spoken about her before. [SPEAKER_00]: She's a ginger, and she's quite fair-toned, and she stops doing self-tan and trying to like tan her skin and just embrace her natural.
[SPEAKER_00]: paleness and then as she was on a journey to figure out what shade and what tone of makeup looks best on her and she learned warm makeup looks better on her like she looks more live and she kind of went on this journey because she felt like her makeup wasn't makeup being in anymore so definitely I'll link her TikTok or Instagram and the show notes so you can go and look but finding the different colors that look the best on you like I know I think I'm a cool winter
[SPEAKER_00]: is my season for like my color tone. [SPEAKER_00]: My skin's a bit cooler-toned, but I find like bolder colors look better on me as opposed to like more muted colors. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, outs. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow, we actually have made it to 27 minutes and recording time, but I usually end up being able to cut out [SPEAKER_00]: in my editing process. [SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see how long this episode ends up being for our outs.
[SPEAKER_00]: This list is a little bit shorter than our ends. [SPEAKER_00]: Procassination, I'm so done with procrastinating. [SPEAKER_00]: I have been trying to nip it in the butt and to really be on top of myself for it and to just do things when I say I'm gonna do them and do them in a time-efficient manner. [SPEAKER_00]: Lazyness with that said.
[SPEAKER_00]: hate being lazy like I don't want to just like be a bomb like to me that just it makes me feel Iki I think there's a time in place to again rest and be chill and kind of be lazy but I think it's really important to live life [SPEAKER_00]: and to get after things burnout. [SPEAKER_00]: We are no longer inviting burnout.
[SPEAKER_00]: In 2026 we are taking care of our mental and physical and emotional by taking rest when needed and working when it's appropriate but knowing one to step back to stay note of things. [SPEAKER_00]: Over consumption, I'm so done with having a million one things in my home. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm so done with watching a million one shows I've really gone through and done a social media audit and detox.
[SPEAKER_00]: I guess you could say I'm following or muting content that I don't want to see And I always go through my toiletries, my PR, my closets, and [SPEAKER_00]: My kitchen, everything, and just like getting rid of things that I don't need and really trying to be like shopping from a minimal standpoint. [SPEAKER_00]: A minimalistic standpoint, only buying things when I need them, not feeling the need to stock up to hoard kind of. [SPEAKER_00]: vibe.
[SPEAKER_00]: Being fearful of new things is out seeing the fear and just like embracing it instead. [SPEAKER_00]: Self-harming behaviors, I feel like 2025 was the year of breaking habits and cycles and patterns, and I don't want to river back to old ways. [SPEAKER_00]: ever again.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, if I can, if I can prevent it, obviously I'm only human, but knowing when I'm doing something that is essentially self-sabtog in a way and trying to be self-aware enough to prevent it and understand why I might be wanting or feeling a need to do that. [SPEAKER_00]: Talking stages are out. [SPEAKER_00]: I wish none of my friends to be in a talking stage, none of you guys to be in [SPEAKER_00]: nonchalant partners, nonchalant friends are out, brain rot and scrolling.
[SPEAKER_00]: I refused to do that. [SPEAKER_00]: I was doing it a little bit too much today but I did start a new book so hopefully that will pull me in and I'll be scrolling less again. [SPEAKER_00]: Shitty boyfriends are girlfriends. [SPEAKER_00]: We don't stay with our partners just because if they're treating us shitty, we [SPEAKER_00]: have conversations. [SPEAKER_00]: We learn how to navigate it. [SPEAKER_00]: We leave if it's no longer serving us.
[SPEAKER_00]: Snickers, unless they're with at leisure otherwise, it has to be a boot or a loafer. [SPEAKER_00]: And lastly, gossiping or talking badly about others, I think it's just a really shitty quality or character trait to have. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think people who only speak kindly about others glow different, [SPEAKER_00]: energy level or a level if you will. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like I've gotten a lot better and not doing that. [SPEAKER_00]: Again, only human.
[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, those are my ins and outs of 2026. [SPEAKER_00]: I hope you enjoyed this episode. [SPEAKER_00]: If you loved it, make sure to leave a rating or a view on Apple podcasts or Spotify. [SPEAKER_00]: That's how you can help support the pod.
