Uh, Charlie Van Viren, uh, sorry Um, I am a sophomore here at emerson on the men's lacrosse team and I love the more male podcast Oh my god, that makes me so happy So the reason why Charlie is on this podcast We were at a party and I see him in the streets and he's just yelling out at me Hey, like I want to be on the pot and I was so happy and excited But I thought he was joking and so like I never reached out and then I ran into him into like on the street the other day
He was like, oh, where's the DM like I was waiting and I was like wait, you're serious And so DM time and here we are. So are you pumped because I'm so pumped. Yeah, I am Absolutely, I'm just thrilled to be on here that party I was in uh, you know without incriminating myself. I was in a questionable state, but you know Uh, as we all were though as we all were and that's okay
So I want to start off. I did a lot of research about this because I just I'm so intrigued by it, honestly um, so Sorry guys I got a definition online that says that big dick energy is confidence without cockiness
It's never misplaced. It cannot be simulated It is the sexual equivalent of blindly writing a check for ten thousand dollars knowing you have it in the bank So I think that's a really good definition because I feel like it's Like big dick energy is the opposite of like try hard So I want to know your thoughts on that definition and if you want to counter it or agree with it Yeah, I mean, I think I really like that definition. More than a sexual thing. I think it's more of like a way of life sort of thing. Uh, I think that sort of that like a lifestyle kind of I would agree with that and I also want to talk about like the Pete Davidson lore surrounding big dick energy because I feel like he's kind of the one who coined that term big dick energy and like I get it because like he's a like
Physically like he's a tall man. He's got big feet. So like all the stereotypes surrounding big dicks like he has it But I feel like just something about that man Like there's no reason why he should be hot But I think he's such an attractive man and I know it's not for his physical appearance It's just the way he carries himself and the way he acts around the women he's dating I don't know. I want to hear. Have you ever heard about like The p. Davidson like around big dick energy?
Yeah, I mean, I think the guy like pete davidson is he's really like just confident anything he does And kind of like you said like I think he embraces the fact that Like conventionally, he's probably not the most attractive guy. He's a little bit, you know
On the skinnier side. He's got uh some interesting facial features. I guess, you know, not no hate, but I think that's the way he would say himself Yeah, uh, but I think that yeah, it's just like the confidence they has like he knows he's a funny guy But doesn't ever seem like he's overdoing it

so like conventionally, he should not be like attractive at all but And the fact that he bags so many bitches is crazy to like kim Kardashian ariana grande apparently now I spice like what is going on? Like I I want to know your thoughts on that. How do you think he's getting these women? Yeah, I mean he definitely has cracked the formula that I have not because you know, he's uh, I think you're shooting 100% right now. It's crazy, right? It's nuts
They're good for him though, but I mean it's so good for him. Yeah I don't know like I I think that has to be like it has to be studied in the books But I think it's also like the way he It's like a definition that I saw is that like big dick energy guys like they love like their girlfriends or wives like publicly Like they're not like low-key about it Like they're just like out and about showing off their women like I don't know any thoughts about that

Can girls have big dick energy because I think it's like more of an aura thing and not an actual like oh like this person is hung Like I like I don't know maybe that can play a part But for me when a guy has big dick energy, it's It's more of like an attitude It's like It's kind of like they know they have it But like you said they'll never say they have it because it's like a title that you get like from other people and then like you walk
Around with such confidence, but you're not cocky. You're not arrogant. You're not obnoxious I don't know. It's just I think it's just an energy like you feel when a guy has big dick energy
I don't know. It's it's a very like strong component for me when I'm looking like for a guy, honestly Yeah, I think that it's one of those things that like, you know, you can tell yourself when you wake up in the morning Like I want to you know, have that sort of like bde sort of thing But it's not something that You know, you're I think the true epitome of having bds
Like it's not something that you're like thinking about every day. And I think that you know, at first starters, Melody, I'd say that you are the epitome of that because Stop You know, you walk around campus, uh, you know, you're saying hi to everyone like you're just so friendly And you can tell that like, you know, you would never be able to tell that like, you know, say you spilled your coffee in the morning or like, you know You'll woke up on the wrong side of the bed having a bad air day

Well, I think that it's just like emotional vulnerability is something that like I take very serious in my life because like at least like we're talking about like Masculinity and how much of like a That's gonna be a little side tangent here like talking about masculinity and how much that like You're supposed to bottle up those emotions and like not let anyone see it

Have been given the compliment in the past and I've held it very close to my heart. That's amazing I would venture to say I don't know you well enough to say that but I think you do have big dick energy like you're not cocky
You're not well from the conversations. I've had with you You're not an obnoxious person like as a man men are super fucking obnoxious like Ugh, but like I I've never seen you in a situation where you've been obnoxious or like tearing people down for your own sake And so I think that does play a part in big dick energy and so I think you do have it So, but I don't know you well enough We need to get to know each other better and then I can say for sure if you do have it or not

You know, whether it's therapy or just kind of within yourself. Yeah, that makes you a little bit less anxious But it's not Anything that like what you said like you never want to be tearing anyone down Right like you never take you never take that out on anyone else because you feel insecure about yourself I think that you know Anyone in the world has got stuff there feel anxious or sad about and that's one of those things that like the biggest indicator of it Is being able to handle that?
You know through your own beads and not let it affect anyone else. Yeah, I agree with that 100% I think that's a really good point you make And so me I don't want to sound like cocky or whatever But I do think I have big dick energy honestly and I haven't been told that by anyone But well by you and thank you for that But I feel like I'm every time I meet someone new and then we become friends They always tell me oh, I thought you were the biggest bitch ever and for me
That's like the biggest compliment ever because that means that I carry myself a certain way where people are like Intimidated of me kind of and like not in a scary way or anything They're like oh like should I go talk to her like I'm kind of nervous And I kind of like that about myself and every single person without a miss that like has become a friend That was an acquaintance before they've told me that and I think that kind of like emulates big dick energy
And I think I do kind of have it a little bit of course there are some days where I'm like like Chotey, but I Think I do have it most days and I like that about myself honestly thoughts. Yeah, I think it's one of those Like we kind of said about being approachable right like you know I think that at least I try and see my I try to be as friendly as possible Right, but like you know, I'm not I definitely don't think I'm the type of person people have said this be before like You know I
Before you like really meet me like you know, they'll throw a joke around or something. You're like wow this guy's kind of a prick but It's yeah, like you know you definitely be friendly to your friends, right? But you're maybe not the most approachable person on the street Yeah, not someone who someone's gonna come up to you and ask for you know directions Yeah
I think that part of that is just that confidence. Yeah, I think that's a beautiful thing though Because then when that person gets to know you they're like, oh, this is the coolest person ever like they're so nice and so sweet I think that's like it's a nice paradox to have within the realm of big dick energy I think that's a that's a beautiful thing honestly so Back to back to like big dick energy being literal or just an energy that draws people in what do you think?
Do you think it can be like both sides or like just one? Yeah, I think that like attraction for it, right? Like you know I and going back to like you know women having big dick energy It's definitely something that I look for right? Yeah, it's not gonna be a You know I'm waiting for you know, I don't want to have someone who's gonna be just kind of like Pissed off all the time like you know they're gonna try and bring you down with there because they're feeling insecure about stuff
Yeah, definitely a very attractive thing. anyways moving over from that I feel like also Something that kind of bothers me about big dick energy is that it can translate into a guy being nonchalant and there is nothing I hate more than a nonchalant guy like okay You can be like for the first few months we're talking you can be cute and like oh, I don't care I don't care, but like please shut the fuck up and act like you care and act like you have feelings and you're not emotionally

Davidson is so emotionally unavailable Like you well, he's gone through so much trauma too, so I can't blame him for that But I don't like the nonchalantness like aspect of big dick energy. So do you think that's like Do you think that's something that's there with big dick energy?
Yeah, I think that's probably one of the most dangerous things at least for young men like in today's world is like you talk about this like Sigma like Jim bro It's like you know the the breakup period and all that Fucking lift a ton of weights and what not let anyone get to you like yeah fuck that shit dude Like yeah, I think that like when I was dealing with a breakup, right like the best resource
I had was being open more open and honest my you know friends my family like I started talking to my parents More than I ever did Because at least you know they you know that they've gone through like the same sort of stuff, right? You're not everyone has emotions exactly agreed you shouldn't like The only way you're gonna be able to grow is being able to like express those emotions

Yeah, cuz I feel like at some point wait This is veering away from big dick energy, but I like it a lot Like I think that's something very important because I feel like that's the thing especially in men like and it makes me so sad Cuz I grew up around a bunch of boys and like personally the guys in my family They do like they're in touch with their emotions and they do know how to talk about their emotions
Like some of my guy friends like they'll be dealing with like the worst worst shit ever And they don't talk about and I know they're dealing with something and it just makes me so sad and they're like no
Like I'm a guy like I'm a man. It's like no like you're a man Yes, but you have emotions and it's so okay to cry to scream to like go to fucking therapy like please Let's normalize going to therapy like it's so okay I love my therapist so much I talk about it all the time on the podcast like and I think like that's that should be a stigma removed from men because it Makes me so very sad like and cuz I love all of my guy friends so much and I want them to thrive emotionally
Like oh, it just makes me so sad. I want to hear your thoughts about that. Yeah, I think that Like for sure like you know, we do have to normalize therapy for matters Definitely one of the most like one of the best things that I did I was going through like a really tough time That's amazing Like you know, it's it's all about consistency with it, right?
And I kind of got to a point where you know, I don't see it was much because I don't need excited They help me have so much along the way that they will regulate like those emotions those feelings of like feeling lost and stuff like that But like you know the first step was just being like open and completely honest like here's the shit that I'm dealing with
Yeah, for sure. Just how I feel about things This is you know how I think I got to this point and they give you so many tips Just so much about yourself too, and I think it's it's so amazing I cannot advocate enough about therapy and it makes me so happy that you've gone to therapy Wow, and I feel like that's so telling of your character as a person I feel like you're so like nice and soft and like oh wow that makes me really happy
We need to hang out more. This is this is amazing Charlie. I love this Absolutely, yeah, of course um, okay, can big dick energy get annoying?
I think that's a question more for me Well, maybe I feel like it can get annoying because like when it gets to someone's head It's like they start like getting Overtly like confident and it's like turned into arrogant and it's like like now you have small dick energy Like you need to like calm down because I feel like it may like if you tell someone so many times that they have big dick energy Like makes their head so big and they like oh it's annoying so I want to hear your thoughts on that
Yeah, I think that like it's one of those things where maybe what I'm saying about Transcendental I'm coming to this realization myself is good that it's never something that you're gonna be able to fully reach You'll never reach like a hundred percent of it on any given day And like when you think you reach it like the next step of it is you know a year or two ahead, right?
Like that's something you got to keep working towards so you can never have that full like a hundred percent confidence that like yes I I haven't you know, I'm dragging on the floor behind me like you know, it's like It's you got to be able to like keep neutralize it kind of yeah, I have a balance because it can get annoying and it's like Like don't fucking piss me off There was another quote that I really liked and I never thought about it like that
It says men who exude big dick energy are usually the low-key ones confident but not cocky However women who exude big dick energy are usually more outspoken and large and in charge And I want to hear your thoughts because I have thoughts about that Yeah, I think like we talk about just sort of gender roles like in the past hundreds of years society and like how we see it today like you know, it's like not like the
Men who have been in power have been the ones who are always loudest like you know, let's go do this right now We need to do this right and it's like they're not you can tell that like that's how they feel like they're expected to be right and like The expectation for women is to be sort of a quiet reserve even like when women were in power, right?
Like you know if they showed any sort of motion like their label does like oh, they should be in power They're too emotional I think like the real epitome of it is being able to kind of switch those like at least for men to have the confidence that like, you know, they're doing the right thing and That they're not gonna let anyone really bother them or get to them Mm-hmm, and then for women, it's like, you know, I have the power in this situation

I didn't really I heard about it And I thought that it was kind of ridiculous because I feel like the only man they're really like sort of complaining about that Probably got called out for you know sexualizing women in the workplace or something I feel like it's something that like anyone who like has any grain of actual big dick energy in them would not let that
