Laurie Nadel is a psychologist, journalist, and best-selling author of The Five Gifts: Discovering Hope, Healing, and Strength When Disaster Strikes, who specializes in helping people recover from trauma. In Long Beach, NY, she runs a support group at City Hall for people who are traumatized by losing their homes to Hurricane Sandy. At Metropolitan Communication Associates in Manhattan, she works with patients who have traumatic brain injuries due to assault/rape, M.S. and stroke.
