Each year the Day of Atonement reminds us of our need for forgiveness. That reminder is not something that stopped with the Old Covenant. We continue, under the New Covenant, to need a reminder that we are sinners in need of forgiveness. The great thing is that we can also be reminded that as Christians, we have been forgiven of our sin.
