Hey, good morning everybody. Welcome to Mix Nuttonation. I'm Rich. And I'm Phil. Ip. Gotcha. Phil Ipp Hirsch. Wow, what a what a great uh time last week, Phil. Oh, certainly was. Had a chance to uh get down to uh Florida. Enjoyed some uh uh some nice weather. Wasn't like typical Florida weather, it was a little bit on the chilly side. But it was great. Got to uh got to s uh see you.
Some uh two of my um old dear friends. Yeah. Um you you uh of course, and yeah, our other friend Al Knight. Yes. Uh the famous Al Knight for You can call me Al. Exactly. That's right. And um yeah, and it was just a real nice time. We had a nice dinner. And uh at at our at our one of our favorite places, I give'em a shout out, OSHA there on Federal Highway in Boca. Yes. Not to be confused with the federal agency. Big difference.
No, and thankfully they haven't had any issues with them. So No, no losses. But if you love Thai food, so I love Thai. I think I've eaten there probably seven or eight times now. I think we've eaten there before. Yeah, I think we had lunch there one time. That is correct. Either right after or right before taping. And uh
And uh yeah, so we love that place. Great. A lot of fun, uh a lot of food. And got to tour um uh Al's uh other other place, which his menu cuts because we don't have, you know, correct. But qu quite a place. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's a very interesting setup there. It is place of work is quite unique. Let's put it that way. It it is uh you might say it's a paradise, but um It certainly is. Paradise by the dashboard light. That's right.
¶ Silver Coins and Cigar Bar Experience
So uh now I now I I myself I had another event that I uh was uh attending and uh may have touched upon it last week, but uh I was uh I was actually, you know, very fortunate and blessed to uh get to uh hang out with our sponsor Andy Scheckman Speaking Up Precious Metals. And Well, what do you know? What what is what is that is is that actually a a piece of of genuine ninety-nine nine nine
Pure silver. Yes, it is. Look at that. One troy ounce. It's beautiful. That's a beautiful silver eagle. Yeah, indeed. Indeed. I know the reflection of the light. There you got one too. You know what I've noticed? You even got the glove. So this is something I that I've noticed over the last uh few years. Sure. Silver silver makes people very happy. Oh, it does. It must be something in terms of the uh the molecular atomic
the composition of silver. But I think when you when people hold silver, they get like a visceral reaction to it. It's like and the reason why I'll say that, because I I I saw your reaction, obviously when I when I um
¶ The Value of Silver and Relationships
Priceless off that, you know, when I forwarded that coin to you from Andy. My God. Yeah. But um so when Andy and I went to the um to Patrick Bet David's it's called the boardroom. It's a cigar bar. Yeah. And um Unfortunately for Andy and myself, we're not really big cigar smokers. But uh that night we ingested a good deal of cigar smoke, whether it wanted to or not.
Uh it's cool really a beautiful place. And in the interior, I mean it's really it's kind of a nondescript area off of Federal Highway. Big sign saying value tame. So you know it's one of their complexes where they do their podcast. Sure. But uh you go in the you know, we we were there by private invitation, got to meet a couple of people. Yeah. My my contact there was there and real nice guy, Ivan. Uh Ivan, a shout out to you. You treated us really well.
Beautiful place. I mean the the the decor, the furniture, the bar setup. Classic had a guy playing guitar. Um probably about 25, 30 people were there, Mill and about. Uh didn't really interact too much with.
the locals there because you know, we you know, we really didn't know what the protocol was or what, you know, do you just start walking around handing out business cards? It wasn't like that. It was like people just kind of in their own little groups. Andy and I had a couple of really hours just just checking out the you know, the the vibe and uh had a great conversation or two about just all kinds talking about all kinds of things related to, you know, the his industry, uh, politics.
our lives in general, got to know a little bit more about each other in depth. And uh he's had a very interesting life. Um and it gets more interesting by the day, it seems. But um just touching on this silver thing, what I would say is uh, you know, we had our we had our share of some adult beverages, you know, and uh it was really nice. I mean, they they they do they pour you a very, very uh large cocktail there.
You could say that again. And it was really kind of nice. And um and so when we had a tab going and when Andy um Picked up the tab and he was picking up uh everything that night'cause uh Wow. Because we even had dinner w with my wife, um, it was great. You know, we had we had a really fun conversation and um
You know, it was it was kind of a hoot, some of the stuff we're talking about. But um it was like the the night was all on Andy. He's just a great guy, you know. Yeah, he would've generous too. Oh, he's beyond generous. He wouldn't let me think. But um so uh when thank you Andy once again for putting a smile on my face. Andy's a prince of a guy. Yeah. Um when um he clear he uh took care of the the bar tab.
Nice, nice bartender, big drinks. Andy takes out one of these from his pocket and says, Yeah, that's for you. And a guy thinks like like Wow, what is that? And and I'm like smiling and I'm nudging it. You want without damaging your skin barrier. This gentle exfoliating powder activates with water to smooth out rough texture and brighten skin. enough to deliver results, yet gentle enough to use every single day, even on sensitive. See the results on the first time.
yourself, visit dermalogica dot com and use code SMOOT at Cart for an exclusive free gift with sixty-five dollar purchase. Tell them tell them what that thing sells for right now. Cause the guy had no clue. Like ninety-nine percent of the more of the population, they really don't have any concept of how valuable one of these babies are. I mean, it's like, oh, it's like, oh, it says like it's a it's a dollar.
It's it's oh you gave me a dollar tip like no no no no please please please let let me take a deep breath and let's let me let me explain to you this is pure Four nine silver. Beautiful man. Look at that. I'm looking at my phone. The spot price, the the Comics is open today. So spot prices are are active is at uh ninety just under ninety four dollars for one of those okay.
And God bless if you can buy one for that, you can. When you buy them, you have to pay a premium because everybody paid even Andy has to pay a premium from the mint and and the his suppliers and it gets passed along the way. And Andy, I'm happy to say, is still the The the lowest that I've ever come across.
¶ Reactions to Precious Metals & Market Trends
And he cuts deals, he works for you. You know, it's it's all about relationships. It's w it's something that we're where we're really harping on in our conversation. We're talking about relationships we have with people, businesses, friends, and how we how people, you know, basically move forward in their careers by the people that you know and the people that you you know either meshed really well with and you weren't want to work with.
And that helps you and you you know it probably as well as anybody, your relationships and all your different walks of life and industries. Absolutely. You travel and you know it's all about the people you know and And being a good person and comes back at you, you know, put out positivity, positivity comes back. God willing. And converse. We we can only hope.
Exactly. So the guy was like like it's all s I mean, his he was all smiles. He had a smile so it's like when he realized, oh my God, I've never held one of these before. I says, Well, you know what? You you have the opportunity to hold a lot more than if you ever want to, because you're you're looking at the guy who will hook you up.
Not me, but him, Andy. I mean I could hook him up too, but yeah. But uh so that was kind of a hoot. I I was I always get a thrill out of watching people's reaction when they hold a piece of silver or like my um my uh Stepdaughter's husband was in town. Over call days. And I I I handed him uh what a gold eagle and he had never he had never held a piece of gold in his life. My God. And he went an experience.
Oh yeah, when I said he put it in his hand and like the heft of it, you know, they're smaller. The E Silver Eagles are uh gold eagles or a little bit smaller than these. Yeah. He put it in his hand and he's like, wow. That's heavy. It says, yeah, that's like forty six hundred dollars heavy. Yeah. That's right. Sucker is is well if again, that's spot.
Again, right now gold is almost at 4700 on the Comix right now. It's having a big day today. Um, dare say when the markets open on Tuesday, might be looking at a
¶ Turbulence and Scary Flight Experiences
pretty steep drop in the stock markets'cause right now the the VIX index, the volatility is it's open. The VIX m is open. It's it's Fix is up 20%. That's a big, big move. So um, and the futures are are down big. So I don't know what's what's spurring this sell-off. It might be all the turbulence. Internationally with what's NATO and That's a word I hate hearing when I have to tr when I have to fly. So but I digress.
Different kind of turbulence. You won't have any volatility on the plane. You know, I don't know if you've ever experienced Heat turbulence. See, there's a difference. There's air turbulence and then there's heat turbulence. So I'm gonna give you a a quick example. Texas, as you know, gets very hot in the summer. Not right now, but wait till it's, you know, May, June, July, August, forget it, or September even. So heat turbulence means that obviously the air is somewhat unstable.
But because of the heat. Your turbulence is even worse. And I I remember I had to fly one time from Dallas Fort Worth to Waco. It was roughly um a fifty to fifty five minute flight. I can tell you. Fifty four out of fifty five minutes, there was turbulence. And I was in a twenty seater up and down, up and down. And I I was with a client at the time And he tossed his cookies. He did. I mean, thank God they're they're you know, they had barf bags.
I didn't, but I can tell ya i I felt like I was on a roller coaster and I lost my appetite. Like you said, you wanna do lunch? I go, Not really. I just uh wanna be on the ground. Man oh man. So I you know, air air turbulence sucks. Yeah, you can that can you can experience that during a thunderstorm if you're going above mountains, but the heat turbulence in the summer, different kind of turbulence altogether.
Yeah. Twice. I mean, I I can I can relate to your Waco trip because I had to go to Lovick, Texas many years ago on a business um trip. And um yeah, I was in one of those, I I don't, I think it might have been a prop.
twin prop. And you hit those wood those heat thermals. Yeah. Or you're going along and all of a sudden the plane just falls like a thousand feet. It feels like a thousand feet. May not be quite that much, but you're not even all that high up anyway. You're only flying it about 10,000 feet anywhere.
That's frightening. The lower the lower uh you're not in the upper because it was a short flight. Yeah, exactly. I remember they they had Budweiser on the plane. I remember, you know, we there they gave us like a drink like really early in the flight, which is weird. Wow. We're barely in the air. Reel the cart out, you know, would you like and I got myself a beer, it was kinda warm in the thing.
Sure boy, you know, you really it helped calm your nerves a little bit. Oh god, yeah. Yeah. No question. That or a gummy. One of the two. Oh god, what a scary Scary experience. Yeah. Yeah. And it was so hot on the plane, too. That's the way it was worst. Yeah. I mean, even though you're up, you're up a little bit, but it was so it must have been like in the high 90s. It was oh geez. I think it was like in June or July down there. Oh wow. Yeah. And then the other times coming over the Rockies.
uh oh california and you get over some of the worst. Oh wow people just like you just like drop and that's how you lose your lunch. You always wonder, you know, yeah why they have barf bags in the well you need them and I can tell
Every time I fly into Denver, regardless of the time of year, you have the worst turbulence. Thankfully I'm not flying into Denver. I'm flying, you know, into Phoenix. Yeah. So hopefully I'm not gonna be as bad. I'm sure there's gonna be some. You know, what are you gonna do? But Denver uh has some of the worst turbulence because of, you know, the mountains and the strong winds and the and the you know, the jet stream and everything. Boy, you feel it like you wouldn't believe. So
Yeah, it's been a while since I've flown, actually. I guess it's worse when the weather's warmer. In the in the winter it's not nearly as bad, but correct. Yeah, because I I I was flying to Vegas, I think, for a show and it was it was it was in June or July, so it was warm. Oh yeah. Well the really the effects of the Chinook winds over the top of the mountains. Wow. Yeah, it feels like you're on a Chinook.
Yeah, they said it they warned us. So this people that you know not aware of what happens when you go near the Rockies, you go over the may have a little bit of turbulence. So there was well here's what I love. When the captain makes that announcement, I goes Uh this is your captain speaking. Uh we're gonna have some uh Bumpy uh turbulence here in the next ten. What looks like uh beat me to the punch. And and everyone's like, Well, you know, it's brutal.
Yeah, okay, so and that's uh J if you if needed there's some uh barf bags on the rope. Yeah, exactly. Uh barf bags are sponsored by and then you know, you can you imagine they had a sponsor Office Depot. You know, I mean that would be wild. Oh geez, let me tell ya. So not looking forward to that part, but hopefully we could
¶ Busy Weekend and Travel Preparations
You know, it'll be smooth sailing, God willing. So Oh nice, but you get to go get back to California, you know. Yeah, you know, and it's so by the way, this is interesting. Um I've set our personal record here. I have had a footprint in the state of California since two thousand and two. So in other words, I've either lived or visited uh for the past twenty five years from oh two through twenty twenty six. So that is kind of cool, if anything. So
Just th I put it out there for all those uh staticians out there who want to keep track of stats. So th that that is a pretty decent stat to have, if anything. We'll see what happens in twenty twenty seven. You know. Hey, uh yeah, by any chance, did you get to watch any of the football yesterday? No, no. Or possible. No, I I adjusted.
What I had such a crazy weekend. I had uh w speaking of football, it's funny you mentioned that. I worked an event, uh I I think it was some kind of a college football event, uh down at the Miami Beach Convention Center and I was, you know, dressed as one of the FIFA mascots, uh clutch the eagle. And then as soon as I got home, that was like a four hour event. I had to do some voice animation for a couple of hours and then following that I had to go to a haunted house banquet.
So Saturday was uh really crazy busy. Then Sunday, you know, lot of travel uh as well. And, you know, luckily uh I got back, you know, early this morning and I was able to you know, start packing a little bit. So which I have to finish, uh, by the way. So
¶ Football Drama and Questionable Calls
Yeah. Anytime you're traveling for like six days, that is a requirement, as they say. Well, I I know you're a big sports fan, so it's a shame that you you missed I mean, it was yeah quite quite the slate of games. Um and of course tonight is the national championship game between the Miami. Gonna miss that one. Yeah. So we're looking at the Well, unless I'm on the flight, I might be able to catch it.
Well, we'll hopefully w we might be looking at the potential starting quarterback for the New York Jets next year. Oh wow. Possibly because they have the number two pick. Yeah. Or um, you know, God forbid they could, you know, something could happen and get Fernando Mendoza. Um oh wow. So that's uh you know, all all you know, Hope Springs Eternal if you're nearly uh two or two overtime games, which is kind of cool. Yeah. Um out of two or the four had overtime, one was a blowout, Seattle.
Dispensed with uh San Francisco quite handily with Sam Darnold, the former jet first pick uh from twenty eighteen. And they're saying that he is the unlikely first. member of the twenty eighteen quarterback class that might go to a Super Bowl. They thought it was going to be Josh Allen, of course. Right. You know, Buffalo stumbled. Um You know, it was just uh Really frustrating game watching that because the controversy is that the referees
just really seemed to have failed the NFL. Some calls that were made and the hastiness of the nature of the one big play that was a questionable catch. Rip down fans, turn You know, that's in sports across the board. I mean, there there have been even some hockey games where the officiating was just subpar.
And that's putting it mildly. Well, this was one one of those things where yeah, everyone was like, Okay, it it was a really kind of unique looking play. Yeah. And but it was like, But why aren't they like analyzing it and looking at it, you know, slow motion. They just kinda rushed and then they just gave the ball to you know, back to um uh What's it Denver? I guess it was Denver. They just gave it back to Denver real quick.
And the play was over and everyone scratched their head like, you know, they make such a big deal over these damn replays and all the red flags and these are supposed to be These are one of these things that get c kind of done unilaterally. The the ref I mean the uh coach doesn't have to throw a flag. This automatically reviewed because of the nature of the play and it was a turnover, which means it also gets extra scrutiny.
And it just happened so fast. And there's all these things that were like, okay, okay, did he catch the ball? Did he hold it? Did he did he bring it to the ground? And if he did, he's on the ground, means he's down because the guy was grappling with him. So there's contact, he's down. It shouldn't have been he shouldn't have been. He was on the ground with the ball. The guy tears it out of his hands, pulls over.
And they called it a fumble or an whatever. It was just kind of Wow. And his knee was already on the ground. So technically his whole body was on the ground. So in in theory, based on the rules that I've understood them forever, that if you have a catch and you're on the ground And you've been contacted.
Possession goes to the receiver. Like in like in baseball, t a tie goes to the runner. Possession of the ball goes to the receiver. Not right. The defender can't just tear it out of his hands when it's on the ground technically down. So Buffalo really got screwed because here's the thing. It was an overtime. He catches that ball. He comes down at the 20-yard line of Denver. They're already in field goal range.
They could have just killed and won the game. But it was taken away and then they went back down and they scored. And then there was all these past interference penalties that Buffalo was committing. And some of them one of them was a one of them was legit. One of them is kind of like
Iffy, but just the same, they're losing their composure. They're out of their minds. They felt like they got ripped off and they're playing like the like like they were just angry, not angry like but but like insane, like out of their minds. They didn't give a shit. They were just all losing it. Losing their composure all at once. And Buffalo just went in. I mean, Denver went in and kicked a chip shot field goal. However, the quarterback for Denver.
¶ NFL Quarterback Injuries and History
on one of like a on a just a uh on a wasted play just to kind of m move the ball a few yards closer, breaks his ankle. So the starter, I mean, I don't think it's ever happened before that that I can in my all my years of watching the football that a starting quarterback. Breaks gets hurt on the like the last play of the game, and now he's not playing in the championship game. Yeah. So in theory, he was like.
one of these like young guys, young studs that's just really emerged as a great quarterback, Bo Nick. Sure. And now he's uh he's done for the season. His backup is going to start. I mean, I think the only thing that I can think of is Earl Morell. Uh the late Earl Moral. That's right. Or um Bob Greasy. Yeah, but Johnny. Well Earl Morrell, it's funny you mentioned that. Yes, he did start he was a backup for Johnny U in the Super Bowl. Uh when he played with Baltimore.
But also he was the backup for Bob Greasy. And when Bob Greasy I believe bro broke his ankle uh during the nineteen seventy two season, Earl Morrell stepped in and the team remained undefeated. The only team literally in modern day history. Thanks to the Miami Dolphins in nineteen eighty five, which uh uh beat the Bears on that Monday night. I was actually at the game. I think it was thirty eight twenty four. Miami beat Chicago. Quite a game that was, in fact.
Well as I recall, to correct myself, it was Earl Morrill playing for the Colts against the Jets. And of course, you know, that was Joe Willie Name with uh his moment of glory. And oddly enough, they bring in they bring in Johnny Unidas for the like at the end of the game, yeah, because
You know, Morrill just wasn't getting it done. He had a couple of intercepts, threw some badly ball thrown balls. Johnny Unitis comes in and he leads him down the field and they score a touchdown. And you're kind of like, well, why didn't he play in the first place? Sixteen to seven. That that was the final, I believe.
But it was like it was weird because United's came in because they said, Well, he's i he's injured, but let throw him in there anyway. Well, yeah, if he was injured and he could still drive them and score a touchdown, kind of makes you think probably should have been playing in the first place. But yeah, well, yeah, that's true. Uh what are you gonna do? Um but yeah, Earl Morrell no longer with us, sadly. Uh he passed, I think, uh
Several years ago, um I think he was either seventy eight or something. I know unfortunately he was suffering from C T E, which is uh a lot of football players in that era, sadly. Um, you know, did end up getting this uh, you know, head trauma. Uh based on what he's later, I mean the fact that he's that he died is he probably probably still lived to be about eighty, I would think. Yeah, oh yeah, yeah. Something like that. But uh
Uh, what are you gonna do? Yeah. I actually I think I had one of his cards at one point. Get smoother, brighter skin instantly in one easy step. Uh Earl Morrell, way way back in the day. In fact, there's a street named Earl Morrell Way or Earl Morrill Pass, uh, in Davy, Florida. I believe he did run either for mayor or city council. Uh way back in the nineteen eighties. So yeah, Earl Morrill is fairly well known in the city. I think he had the same hairstyle all as yours, you know, the flat top. Yeah, he had that flat top. It was kind of like short and tight on the sides and he had a lot of hair there, but uh
You know. Anyways, yeah, it is what it is. So hairstyle long gone by. Yeah, right, exactly. From an era gone by. You don't see it much anymore. No, you don't. V rarely. But you know, I have enough hair to make that style work, so
We'll see what happens. Now football, it seems like all the players all all have like hair down to their waistline, you know. That's something, huh? Dreadlocks and stuff. I don't know if that's all. Well, even hockey too. Remember uh Yarmur Yagar back in well, especially in the nineties, everyone had those long mullets. Uh way back in the day. Yeah. Well it you know, I mean there was a time, of course, they didn't wear helmets, so but in hockey seventies, every everybody was the
Letting their freak fly. Oh yeah. Big hair, mustache. They look like porn stars on ice. I kid you not. You know, the I mean all the guys with like, you know, I remember uh missing teeth. Bill Flett. Bobby Clark. Cowboy Joe. Bill Flett. Oh, Bill Cowboy Bill Flett. That's right. Yep, that's right. I guess he was on the Flyers and he went then he played with He was. He he I think he played with the Maple Leafs. He was also in the WHA. I in fact I think he finished his career in nineteen eighty.
Uh, with the Edmonton Oilers, I don't think he played a full season. He was about thirty seven at the time and I think he was hitting the sauce a bit too. Uh but uh he did play uh he was on he was teammates with Wayne Gretzky uh for part of that year. So uh but safe to say he was not he was not hitting the Fauci sauce. No, definitely not. Not many people would watch it. Yes, we did. And uh boy, it's a good thing I didn't stain my shirt. So it's all good.
Yeah. Well that was uh we haven't done one of those in in the longest time. So I hope quoting Billy Joel enjoyed it. You know, they hear it. Um It's nice to have some production value to something for a change, you know. Yeah, it's you know, it's nice. First parody of the year, why not? You know, it's a good start to twenty twenty six. So it's all good. That's right. And uh, you know.
Well as uh as the opportunities present, we'll probably find a few more here and there. Exactly. Well we will for sure. That was cool.
¶ Dermatology and Skin Health Importance
I don't know. So ha have you uh been to a dermatologist lately, Phil? Do you have one on on speed dial that you go to? Uh not necessarily, but there there is a possibility I might be seeing one at some point in the future. Like very near future. Well, it's very of course it's recommended as you uh age, but also especially if you're living in the sunshine state. Uh yeah. Sunshine state.
Sean the Sunshine. Shun Sunshine State. There it is. Exactly. Yeah, you know, I just I I I've I've been I've been drinking again. I'm sorry. But still been hitting the sauce. Exactly. But um so uh my wife and I uh aside from seeing friends and uh yeah doing the thing with Andy, you still like that series. We made our our point of visiting our doctors because you know when we
spent uh long stretches of time down in Florida. You know, we established relationships with a couple of medical professionals and I have dermatologists down here because just try to find a dermatologist. in Ohio or back in PA and not have to wait three, four months. I mean, my God, you know? Yeah. Um, it's like, you know, if you have something imminent that needs to be worked on, they're like, Okay, well we'll we'll we'll push you up uh a week, you know. It's like, yeah, thanks. Great. No.
I can call my dermatologist and next day I can be seeing my doctor because uh, you know, I have a 15 year relationship there. And you go in there and it's kind of like it's kind of like being put up on a On a lift when you're in with when you're having your car looked at because You know, you basically strip down to your undies and they just go up and down poor over every and they have all your moles and things cataloged. It's like there's an inventory.
That's kind of interesting. She has her iPad. She says, okay and she's checking out. Okay, so this thing here, oh and your birthmark there and and it's like, okay, just so they just kinda like go down the list and they Poke and prod, they have their little little reader, their little eyeglass thing, and they just kind of want to see, you know, if they can see the the depths of stuff in these games.
you know, breaking out of a barrier or border, you know, and which is kind of like a first, you know, kind of warning that something maybe um, you know, Never know, emanating out of there. And uh they did find something that had a small biopsy on my nose, which doesn't which Honestly, if sh they could take a little bit off this nose, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. That's hilarious. Well, you got a free nose job.
But nobody knows more than you do. There you go. So a couple of zips and zaps and pokes and prods. So I have a couple of you know nasty little things on my head here, which People can sort of see if they're watching the what um happily and hopefully happily and hopefully they will flake off and and I will be the better for it and happier and healthier for it. But people would no matter what. Please make sure you have a relationship with a dermatologist.
Um, this isn't a Seinfeld episode where they make fun of it being like just pimple poppers. No, yeah, they find cancers. Yeah. Mother died of melanoma. Uh ultimately is what killed her. And um not to say that They did it's just something that happens. You you can never go out in the sun a day in your life and you could still get melanoma. Yeah, of course. Just a public service. Yeah, PSA. Well stated.
¶ Family Loss, Reconciliation, and Legacy
Thank you, Rich. So sorry to hear about your mom. She died at died very young in uh you know early fifties. Oh wow. Yeah, it just uh just did Directly uh definitely impacted my life uh as it would anyone. Understandably you know, happened. Anyone who loses a mother that young, I mean my mother was in her late sixties when she passed, but it still affects you.
No matter what. I mean, I was very close to my mother. I mean I I really was and it's where I got my sense of humor from, among other things. Oh yeah, like my I got my I got mine from my father. He he la he made it to eighty nine and um lived a full life and wow um and when he passed, yeah, I mean it it it It definitely impacted me. I felt it for
a a good long time. I mean it was an emotional time, you know, just Sure. It's understandable. You know, you just you you know, whether you you know whether you get along great with your parents or siblings, whatever. Yeah. The thing is, you know, what when the time is upon you, sure when you know it's happening. You know, y all you do is just think about your life and and the
times when you're young and you're a child. That's exactly it. Good times and you know, those things just come race through your memory. Absolutely look, I think of my dad. Now look, my dad and I did not have a great relationship. In fact we We were estranged for a good eleven years we did not talk, but thank God, by the grace of God and by an angel, I was able to reconcile with both my dad and my sister. And it was uh very powerful and and emotional to say the least.
And now I'm in touch with my dad, you know, fairly regularly. And I'm you can't make up for lost time. You just can't. No make make the best of what you got left. That's exactly it. You gotta live in the present. And there by the way, there is an event.
¶ Hockey Legends and Father-Son Bonding
Down here in Florida, there there's a documentary. I'm gonna give a slight little plug. It's about Mr. Goley, the the late great Glenn Hall. Now, uh it turns out one of the producers I worked with on a commercial uh last year in February. I reached out to him. I was interested in doing voiceover work on the documentary, like maybe being a Lloyd Pettit sound alike or a Danny Galvin sound alike. You never know'cause Glenn Hall played in that era, you know, original six and then of course um
The uh original twelve, if you will. Uh you know, he he played his I think his last four years. Uh I know he was with St. Louis. When they made it to the uh Stanley Cup finals, they lost of course to Montreal in sixty eight, sixty nine and then of course against Boston with the big bad Bruins in nineteen seventy. I but I I do believe he retired in seventy seventy one.
Um, but he was alert out of retirement, like a lot of players from his era. And he didn't wear a mask initially, but then he wore a mask late in his career. So Glenn Hall, God rest his soul, was fortunate enough to have seen the documentary about his life. before he passed. So, uh there are gonna be a couple of screenings here and I plan on surprising my dad and taking him, you know, to to
See this documentary. So that's gonna be I think that's gonna be very special, you know, because uh you know, my dad introduced me to hockey way back in the seventies and you know, I used to go to games at the old Montreal Forum, which was like the mecca of hockey.
And so, you know, to go to games and see Guy La Fleur with no helmet and just long hair and just you know, skating down the ice like about I don't know how fast, but like a greyhound and he just would, you know, a slap shot or wrist shot or whatever in the net l like clockwork. La Fleur goes down the a and everyone would jump out of their seats. I mean you couldn't help. So nothing but fond memories on that. So it's kind of my way of paying homage to my dad.
Uh, my dad, of course, knew of Glenn Hall, didn't know him personally, but to be a part of something like that I think is gonna be special and also it's good bonding, good father son bonding. So Yeah, I'm gonna give him a call a little bit later and
Let him know about that and I'll say circle your calendar, Dad. I'm gonna, you know, take you out. Is he down in Florida too? Yeah, he is. He's uh one county south of me. Oh, nice. I I didn't I I I knew he was up in the New York area, right? Isn't that where you were? Uh, my s my sister's up there. Um but and I'm actually going to see them both, uh thank God, in late March, early April, you know, for Passover.
And the last time all three of us were together, w we're going back to twenty thirteen. So that's been a very, very long time. And, you know, again, we're gonna I can dwell in the past. I have to live in the present. And so just to be able to see them is uh going to be beautiful and special. So I'm I'm really excited about that. So it'll be my second time flying this year, uh, if anything. So, you know.
We'll see how that goes. But I figure New York's gonna be cold in March and and early April, not as frigid as now, but it's still gonna be cold. So I'll be okay.
¶ Health Challenges and Vaccine Debate
Oh well that that sounds like a real good time. Yeah. Oh absolutely. For sure. Right now my uh uh Hopes and prayers for my sister who is in the hospital right now. She Oh, I'm so sorry. She's had pneumonia and she has a uh heart condition and I was thinking I might be winging it to back to PA tomorrow.
And about a week there just kind of like uh holding down the fort and some moral support. Yeah, of course. Um, she said that she's feeling a little better this morning. She has a procedure thank God doing and she they might um release her. Uh she this is her talking. Yeah. You know, the doctors oftentimes have different plans, different agendas. And th she had been in the hospital.
a couple of weeks ago, um, I think with the same pneumonia that they released her because she was feeling better and she's complaining. I've been there eight days. They sent her home and then five days later she's right back in the hospital. So I you know, I just try to tell her, you know, please listen to your doctors. I know it sucks to be there. You want to sleep in your own bed and you lose all your privacy to be in these doctors. Of course.
But let them cure you. Don't don't pressure them to send it to you. Don't fight them if you can help it. Only like seventy five percent cured or healed. And then you just have a relapse, which of course. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's a good idea. The only time you should ever fight against the doctors, and this would have been during the COVID mandate. Is if they were going to force something foreign into your arm that you did not need. Get smoother, brighter skin instantly in one easy step.

But Mr. Sadley, as much as I tried to bring her up to speed.
She is one of those uh people that basically go along with the flow. A lot of people do. I'm the only one in my family that never received a covert shot. Thank God. Yeah, they don't question it. They just figure that um they they The government and and people that are not available. They can't be wrong, trust the experts, you know, all that crap. Hippocratic oath and like, you know, whatever. More like hypocritic. So it's just this yeah. ترجمة نانسي قنقر
You know, I d I don't dwell on it too much, but I wonder if her heart condition that was brought on by it or induced. It it emerged basically about two years ago. Let me tell you, when healthy people start dropping dead suddenly. You start to put two and two together and you realize. You know, like if you think of s uh someone like a healthy male in his fifties or sixties.
you know, works out all the time, eats well, sleeps well, and then all of a sudden they just die suddenly. It's like, yeah, you know what? Th you have to go there. You don't have a choice. You ha you cannot rule out just about anything, but you have to say, wait a minute, if this person did not have a preexisting condition and they were healthy and then all of a sudden they just die suddenly?
Whether it's in their sleep or while exercising, you have to find out were they jabbed and which jab did they receive, which poisonous batch killed them potentially. Right. You know, I see so much of like referencing people that have passed away. on Facebook. And it's like incredible. Early on, I guess when it was sort of like very visceral for me, yeah. I would sometimes make comments, just not like in the sense of like
Like I told you so I told you so, but just kind of like a question mark, you know. Of course. I realized, you know what? Like I said last week on the podcast, Phil, yeah, about just kind of like to step back and not be like all up in people's faces and grills about That's exactly it. It's kind of like saying, you know, I'm shaking my head.
And I think it, but I'm not gonna say it because you know what? I'm just gonna mind my own business and stay out of the the the fray. You know, I pray for those people who got the job. I do. I I'm not condemning them. I pray for them. I really sincerely pray for them and hoping that maybe they receive the placebo. Right. If they only had the one.
But if they did receive the shot, you hope that they have a strong enough immune system where they can deal with or Especially those spike proteins, which cause tremendous harm. To the body. It's unbelievable. So they it was a full on lie. We all know what it is. You know, and and it's like also
The people that did the first two, which was of course was what was sort of like the main uh My Dad did three. Yeah. It was but it said that if you did the two, you could probably over time rebuild your immunity to a point where you basically would be more or less uh you know, able to fight off most things.
Um but it's the people that did the the boosters because it was designed to wipe out your immunity and then while it's trying to rebuild itself, you hit it again. So you basically damage it to a point where you're now You know, basically they have a thing called VADES now. VADES, yeah. Vaccine acquired immune deficiency syndrome. Yep.
And that's so people are are getting all kinds of whatever the the turbo cancers and the yeah other things, you know, heart conditions and lung conditions, reproductive problems, all these things that are Probably a result of just pounding and pounding and pounding your immune system and l and flooding your body with these damn things, the spike proteins. Yeah. And You know, let's face it. Yeah, it was it was probably a you know a B weapon, you know. Yes, it was. And uh so whoever is behind that
You know Well, safe travels to you when you're heading to PA to visit your sister. My thoughts and prayers go out to her. Thank you. Thank you and everything. I know that's heavy. That is really heavy. Yeah, I'm hoping uh for the best. And uh you know, if if I do indeed go, which
Now it's being called in question because she says she feels better. So well, Barbara feel feel better. I guess probably I'll I'll just I'll hang here because although I'd love to see my grandson. You know I'd love to see Of course. I'd that's that's adorable. I've seen photos, incredible. server lining of it all. So oh gotcha. If I if I could hang with him a little bit. Yeah. He I I am I am grandpa glasses as Grandpa glasses. Yeah, exactly. Grand Grandpa Dilbert, as they say, you know?
¶ Cigar Bar Secrets and Tech Concerns
God, I used to love that cartoon. Honestly, I'd rather wear my contact. Yeah. It's like, my God, I look so different when I when I take the glasses off. Yeah. But Same here. Kinda need them to see. Yeah, well, same here. I got my readers on my gold readers. Well, obviously, when I had the contacts, I mean I was doing great, but when I went into the cigar bar, oh my god, it was like oh
That must burn like a mofo. I was drop putting eye drops in every fifteen, twenty minutes. Oh jeez. Yeah, go off to the bathroom and drop a few in there. But oh my god, when I got back to the hotel room. And my eyes were bloodshot at that point. I can't only imagine. My God. Poor Andy, had he had some allergies too. And but he you know, but he you know, he soldiered on like I did. We just kinda
You know, and didn't we st we were kinda like down downwind from most of the cigar smokers. Sure. We're all kind of milling about one area. But I would have thought a place like that would have had better ventilation, but yeah, pulling the stuff out so you don't really breathe in the worst of it. But it was pretty bad. You know.
It was kind of neat when went on the tour of the facility. They mentioned they have all these hidden rooms, hidden chambers where you hit hit a button on a like a recess button on a to on a sure a bookshelf and then the doors open up and then there's a then there's another nicer room that didn't have any
So that we got it to escape for a fit. And then from there we went into another room which opened up another hid hidden door. And that led to the studio, which wow, which um I believe they did a podcast there that night. uh for the next day. Because I I remember just kind of hanging out there and I was and I was gonna say, hey Annie, take a picture of me sitting at the des here. Yeah. I realized, oh shit, they confisc they they wouldn't let us bring our cell phones in.
So we left him in the car. Oh geez. That would have been such a great photo of. Oh yeah, but I'm I'm guessing, you know, I don't know why. Uh you know, either either they don't want your cellphones in there because not only could you video stuff, but you can Yeah. Record stuff. So who knows what peop they don't want people
you know, eavesdropping and cop well, I totally get it. And I copywriting and who knows what. Well, just like basically even the equipment somebody you know, you could be you could be, you know, incognito or you know, secretly surreptitiously recording somebody.
And nobody wants that, you know. You know, just kind of like casually, just kind of speaking off the cuff. You don't want to worry about somebody. But then I thought about it. If I had worn these in there, right? How do you know these are a Google Glass? That is true. Because if you don't they might have they might not have like, oh let me check those glasses because if you're these are Google glasses, these record they would record and have
Camera. You could basically Yeah, that is true. You're right about that. Like you're like got some kind of like, you know, c CIA listening apparatus or who knows what. Yeah. Wow.
¶ High-Powered Cars and Risky Drives
Oh, another thing too. Um I I won't say the brand of Andy's car, but he upgraded since last time I saw him. Okay. Um it's to say it's an English car. Okay. Sounds good. That thing has seven hundred and thirty horsepower. Holy God. Wow.
It was funny'cause we're heading up north on Federal Highway. You were talking about cars and I asked him how so how fast can you can you get this thing up to what's the fastest you've driven it? He said he said he we he brought up to about a hundred and ten one time. Wow. Somewhere. I don't know where, but So he says to me, You should listen to this engine. So He just like takes it out of gear real quick and he hits the uh you know the gas pedal just to to rev the engine. And I said, Andy.
Right. It's ten o'clock on a Friday night. We've both had like two or three cocktails. You don't want to be pulled over. You just go and he and he and he kinda looked at me like, Oh, yeah, you're right. That was probably wasn't the smartest thing to do.
So it was just it was one of those funny things, you know, where like he wanted to show me his engine how you know how the how it revved, and then we realized, oh crap. And sure enough, within like half a mile there was a state trooper like a bso guy with his lights off
Yeah. Parked per about perpendicular to the to the road. Basically just waiting for somebody to go by at a really high rate of speed. God, I just hate I hate to think what what could have happened. I mean, just like the last thing. Yeah. You want to do is be responsible for your sponsor getting pulled over with a DUI. Yeah. No, you're t wouldn't be good for business. No, you're telling me that would be bad publicity with a capital B.
¶ Snowy Returns and Florida Cold Snaps
But thankfully he got home in one piece. Yeah. Everything went well. So the whole the week was a success. We got back. Yeah. Snow miserable. I got a blow. I still have to blow um snow blood drives. Snow um Snowblower. Snowblower, there we go. Yeah, yeah. I we used to have one in in Canada. Well, we had a bunch of them in Canada. Sucks to be sixty four because I see I find my mind I'm just not as sharp as I used to be. No, look, it's all of us, man. It's you're not alone. Snow thrower.
Yeah, exactly. Like a little snow coming out of the blow dryer. I mean that would be funny. No, I remember the big snow blowers. They look like dinosaurs. They have this big giant hook and they would blow that snow and create this little artificial hill right onto your front lawn. And you know, we would do that, like as kids, we would wave to the snowblower guy and and tell him in French, E si, e si v avec la neige, you know, w with all the snow.
And then, you know, the snow blower would pass by, uh,'cause they're taking most of that snow right on the curb. And then they'd blow this big giant like mohill or mountain, if you will. Mountainous snow right there. So then you'd have your little toboggan and you would do whatever. So yeah, th good memories. You just don't want to be in the middle and uh God forbid lie down because a snowblower could turn you into a beef stew.
Yeah, it's it's but happened to someone I knew, believe it or not. Cold weather actually got a cold snap coming through here. I guess you're gonna get uh We did too. It was uh forty something this morning, forty one or forty two. That was pretty chill. Or no, forty six I think in Davy, but uh Fort Myers where we had a cast party was thirty nine. And I think the high was only sixty two today.
So yeah. It's always colder in Southwest Florida than Southeast Florida. Even though it's a beeline. It is a bee line. It's really tough to come back here after being only in Florida for three days, but to come back here and Just that cold gust of air hits you. Oh step out of the uh airport, you know, to walk towards the car, it's like, Oh god.
Yeah. Make it stop. Yeah, exactly. You know, you gotta g I guess the guy gotta work on that snowbird thing, you know. That's the yeah. A lot of'em here. And for with good reason. Yeah.
¶ Precious Metals Investment Guidance
But uh so that's that's you know that that kind of wraps. That that's kind of what happened. And uh again, uh it was great seeing you and and Al having dinner and uh Hopefully we'll get to do it again fairly soon. What we Oh would love we won't let two and a half years go by. No, we definitely won't. And I am so grateful
to one of the most generous, kind people, and that of course would be Andy Scheckman, who really hooked me up right here. Look at that. It's just such a beautiful coin. I know it's a lot of uh reflection there. And I'm reflecting as we speak. And this is just a beauty. Lady Liberty on the beautiful silver eagle. Um four nines, pure silver. Um
Could be a hen mutter. People you gotta you if if you're inclined, you know. And the nice thing about Andy, oh, and another thing I'm I mentioned, a good bud buddy of mine, uh back in PA, um We'll mention his name just for protect his uh you know anonymity. But uh he um he he and another guy were like we're running buddies, the three of us were like the three three musketeers, whatever. Um he finally
just yesterday placed his first order with Miles Franklin. Oh c that is fantastic. Happy for him. Hopefully he used our code. Uh yep. He he uh he got it through the mixed nuts nation. Mixed nuts. Love it. And um Uh oh and you know and I always please follow and like on YouTube, uh, if I post anything there, but we're on Spotify, Apple. Go there, please, uh, you know, uh follow us and you'll get you'll get the new episodes, they'll update on your phone, let you know that it's available. But um
I tried for years to get this friend of mine to open up with Andy and for whatever reason he just had a mental block. He wouldn't do it, wouldn't do it. And and it's like not that he's adversed or no doesn't know about gold and silver. He just can make himself you know, physic just buy physical and take money out of his like bank and put it in something physical.
It was like it just he he wanted to for the longest time. He just he came close a couple of times. He spoke to a couple of their sales reps. Yeah he just never followed through. And then finally, this was the week he did it. So happy for him. Um yeah, he missed the low twenties and the thirties. Yeah. I you know breaks my heart that he didn't jump on it then. But yeah, because I think we're I think it's going
considerably higher. Um, this isn't financial advice, this is one of those channels. But yeah, I just I've been living this stuff for the last really well in the last like thirty years of my life, but wow following all the um the the market movements and reasons why the precious metals are moving. Um it's not done yet. It's far from being over. Too many things are going on in the world that are making this
a kind of new reality. And the best place that I think you can find the best prices and selection, they have inventory. You got to go to milesfranklin.com. Forward slash mixed hyphen nuts that reach to our landing page. It helps out us, helps out our podcast. Um W we have you know, um clients that have been buying now for a couple of years that have really really caught it at the right time and they've done really well themselves. But yeah.
They have no minimum order. I I'm serious. You can buy as little as one silver eagle. They will not turn you away. Um, you might want to buy a few more if you got the cash, yeah, lying around in a bank. If you're sitting there earning whatever a couple of percent, yeah. I I promise you. That As much as I can have any
Certitude about something. Yeah. If you put money in precious metals, you'll get a better return than whatever the interest the bank or the money market's gonna pay you because that's likely going lower because f the interest rates from the Fed are gonna be going lower. Especially since Trump is gonna be firing Powell, bringing in a new person. We're gonna have lower rates, you're gonna have lower returns on your deposits.
You're gonna want something that's not gonna be eaten up by inflation. Yeah, yeah. Of course. That's where silver and gold really come in. Comes in. And serve serve a great purpose. It protects your purchasing power. Yeah. Offsets the debasement of the dollar. And I think in the long haul you'll be happy. And if worse came to worse, yeah. Give it to your kids. You don't have to sell it and trade it like a stock. Right. Wealth.
In your position. It's tangible too. You know, that's something that you can use. It's legal tender according to the Constitution. So that is something that is so important. You know, think about this. When w you and I were working in radio, how difficult was it? for a salesperson to make a pitch and try to sell an ad. There's nothing tangible about that ad. It's just an ad. But when you have something physical in your hand that has value.
such as that beautiful silver coin, that silver eagle that I was uh showcasing earlier with my hand modeling abilities, courtesy of uh one Andy Scheckman of Miles Franklin. That what a difference. What a stark difference. And that's why people say, well, uh how easy is it, you know, to uh do radio spots? And I'm like, not easy, folks. Not easy to sell radio ads and you know, it it's podcasting's a different animal, which is why we're doing this, among other reasons.
Mm-hmm. So in terms of also When it's talking about like, you know, ex accessibility and um and utility. Uh there's always junk silver. Which is old constitutional money. I have a lot of that too. Dimes and quarters and half dollars.
And of course we sell that at Miles Franklin as well. Yeah. But some of the best prices out there. But in terms of like, you know, you want to talk about bug out times and, you know, prepper and all that stuff. Um, as far as barterability, um, you want to have smaller denominations. dimes and quarters, you know A a a regular quarter, a pre sixty five or no nineteen sixty four earlier quarter. uh based on the calculations of 0.715 um pure ounces of silver per dollar face value of a coin.
means that a quarter or one quarter is worth right now based on the current price of silver, it's worth about$16. And people They have they can't wrap their minds around that. I mean, this quarter that if I used and put in a gumball machine, I could buy. You tell me that's worth sixteen dollars, not twenty-five cents? That's correct because the silver content, the 90% silver content in that coin makes it worth$16.
And I think we lost Phil. Sorry about that. Uh had the electrician here. I don't know if you guys can see me or not. No, well you're you're in the dark, but you're dancing you're you're podcasting in the dark. I am podcasting in the dark or dancing in the dark. There you can if I can borrow that line from uh Billy. Lights out. Uh-huh.
Anyways, there I am. So uh I'm in the dark literally. I'm in the window. It's kind of an interesting image there. Yeah, you're telling me. I don't know what it is, but uh it's you know, it's kind of interesting and I'm Trying to see if I could get a little bit of light on me here. Oh, okay. There you are. I saw you it's your glasses. I saw a little bit of reflection. Yeah, isn't that wild? It's an audio podcast anyway. So yeah, exactly. So it's all good. All right, here we go. Maybe that helps.
Um I don't know if that helps, but uh all right, I got a little bit of uh you know well it's it's uh Close enough. Close enough for uh like you say, horseshoes and hand grenades. Yeah, exactly. You know, that w which is all good, you know. So uh So uh anyway, so Phil, uh I know you I know you got a you got a plane to catch, so we'll yes sir.
