C. B. Lewis, also known as M. Quad, had other regular humor features besides the 'Mr. Bowser' stories. For many years, he wrote dispatches from a fictional frontier newspaper called 'The Arizona Kicker.' Today, we hear about (among other things) how the Kicker's editor made practical use of a new pistol in an episode from Jan 18, 1890.
