Thu, Sep 13 2007 Mister Ron's Basement #846 Fanny Fern wrote her weekly column for the New York Ledger right until her death in 1872. This week we will feature some of her writings from the 1870 collection 'Ginger Snaps.' Fanny Fern's granddaughter Ethel Thomson (later changed to Ethel Parton), who was eight years old in 1870, used incidents from today's story in her first novel, 'Melissa Ann -- A Little Girl of the 1820s' which she wrote over sixty years later in 1931! Today's tale is called 'A Look Backward.'
