Fanny Fern wrote her weekly column for the New York Ledger right until her death in 1872. This week we will feature some of her writings from the 1870 collection 'Ginger Snaps.' One of Fanny's fellow Ledger columnists was the Reverend Henry Ward Beecher. Sometimes they would comment on each other's writings, such as today's piece about giving children candy -- 'A Sermon to Plymouth Pulpit.'
