This week, the Minute Women peer into the covert and secret world of the Underground Railroad, a clandestine group of 19th century abolitionists who worked to transport escaped slaves fleeing the American South to find freedom in Northern States and Canada. Former slaves and other African Canadian migrants were foundational populations in Canada and have contributed immensely to our national identity, economy, and society.
