Episode description

"Is this normal?!" we say as we uncontrollably laugh with our special guest Sarah McLellan, the host of InTalksicated Podcast and the Queen of Halifax comedy scene. This week we cover the life of female pioneer Agnes Macphail, Canada's first woman Member of Parliament. Macphail was a founding member of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (the forerunner of the New Democratic Party). She was a noted pacifist and an advocate for prison reform. As a member of the Ontario legislature, she championed Ontario’s first equal pay legislation (1951).
