Known for his chameleon-like ability to portray multiple ethnicities in film and television roles, Tsekhman struck gold in his very first role. At the 46th Annual Monte Carlo Television Festival, he was nominated for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series for his performance as a wrongly imprisoned American artist in the Russian television series Zona. In 2014, he played a concentration camp survivor in Tsili, a Holocaust love story filmed entirely in Yiddish, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival.
A native of Winnipeg, Canada, Tsekhman received his Bachelors degree in finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, but it was his leading role in the on-campus production of Neil Sim
