The first words that come to mind when we think of ordinary design are "simple" and "boring." And, while simplicity is good quality, it is not something we as product designers usually strive for. Does this indicate that ordinary design will have an adverse influence on product success? No. In fact, it can have the opposite effect. Many of the world's best-selling items have entirely ordinary designs.
