Mike Dell's world number 3 86 for, what is it already today? It's the 10th of May, 2023. So, uh, let's see what's been going on in my world here today. And, uh, by the way, I gotta replay of, uh, episode from October, 2008 and, uh, I know I was fiddling around and thought I would, uh, throw that in here after I talked for a little bit.
Cause I don't really have a huge update. I'm still doing the carnivore thing, although I dropped the extra podcast, so you're just gonna have to put up with a little bit of it here, . But that suffices to say my blood sugar is down to, uh, near normal. And, uh, I'm off of a lot of the drugs that I, uh, was taking for diabetes, which, uh, now I'm down to just two instead of five. I know crazy. I'm off my blood pressure meds. Uh,
I'm down 30 pounds. I still got about seven, eight more pounds to get to my goal weight of 1 99. Uh, but I've gone down, uh, two full inches in pants size and probably more than that. But, uh, you know, I, it's definitely, you know, not quite to the six pack, more like the pony keg thing going on. But, uh, that's going really good. So we're just gonna call it that. I won't bore you with the rest of the details.
We're still working on home improvement projects here. Got, uh, got, uh, let's see, the bathroom, got the shower done and, uh, got the walls repainted and, uh, doing the floors, uh, next couple of days. So that'll all be shiny new pic and span. So looking forward to that. Also, uh, they picked up a new to me ham radio, but it's an old tube type ham radio, uh, Swan 700 s, which, uh, is tube type. And, uh, the old school makes the room smell funny cuz of the old tubes,
and it's a lot of fun. So I've been really enjoying that. Get on and rag chew in the evenings once in a while with a bunch of guys around, around the Great Lakes here. And, and, uh, yeah, it's just fun to have the old glow in the dark radio instead of, uh, the new fancy one. So I still got the new fancy ones too, so . But, uh, that's really what's going on here. I like said, don't have a lot to talk about just yet. Lots going on at work.
If you want to hear about, uh, what's going on at blueberry and, uh, other podcasting related stuff, go check out podcast insider.com. I'm on there two to three times a month, uh, with other hosts, uh, couple times a month, so, uh, you know, but I, I'm the producer, so whatever they talk about, I, uh, I was there . So anyway, without further ado, I'm gonna play, this is from October, 2008. I'm a little confused about what actual episode number it is,
but I guess that doesn't matter. But, uh, it's when I interviewed Bobby Yang in the studio, W N M C a 90.7 FM in Traverse City. Anyway, uh, , I haven't done a radio show in a long time over there, but, uh, I guess I could go back at some point. But, uh, this one was, it was pretty cool. I, I got a couple of live recordings from the studio there of Bobby and his group and, uh, I don't know, I was jamming to it earlier today and I thought, you know what, I wanna put that out for you guys.
So I'm gonna play the entire episode. I don't know what the, uh, episode number is. And please, please be nice to me about the audio quality cuz it's not nearly as good as it is these days. So, without further ado, here's me. Oh yeah, 15 years ago, something like that. crazy. Yeah, good morning, good evening, whatever the case may be. This isn't an official Mike Dell's world podcast, but I did wanna share something with you. Uh, today at the radio station,
we had a live band in, have you ever heard of him? Uh, Bobby Yang. And, uh, it's been making a swing through Northern Michigan and stopped in at the radio station. And, uh, I played, uh, a couple of songs and I got recordings of them and I got permission to put them
on my podcast. So, uh, in case you don't know who Bobby Yang is, he's a, uh, a very good violinist and he, uh, plays, uh, classic rock songs and, uh, and sort of jam band songs and along with his group, the, uh, I forget what under something, I don't have it in front of me. But, uh, anyway, we go to bobby yang.com and you read all about him. You can pick up a cd. But anyway, first one, uh, I wanna play his, uh,
his version. And this was recorded live, uh, three feet from me. We had, uh, Bobby on the violin, and, uh, another guy in a guitar, and then the third guy on a bass. They didn't have their drummer, uh, but don't need no . It was pretty good. So anyway, here's a old David Bowie song, uh, done by Bobby Yang and his group. Excellent . Thank you guys. Yeah, you guys are playing all my favorite stuff, , but I didn't know it.
Anyway. I'm sure the, uh, studio recording there sounds a little different than my voice does now. , oh, well, they got better equipment. Uh, anyway, like I said, that was Bobby Yang playing Space Oddity from, uh, today at, uh, W N M C during the Folk Air Show. If you wanna listen live, you can, uh, listen [email protected]. Uh, I got some pretty cool music on all the time. Mostly jazz during the week in the mornings and afternoons and
evenings. Could be anything from blues to folk to rock to, uh, I mean, you just name it the different genres, the whole schedules over there at W N M C. So anyway, I wanna make this a big promo for that. But, uh, pretty, pretty happy with the, uh, thing today. Uh, the, the recording there, uh, like I said, that wasn't recorded off air, that was recorded in the studio with, uh, me trying to set it up and, uh, with, with the help of, uh,
our station manager, Eric. And, uh, I think we did a pretty good job considering, uh, considering, uh, the setup there. And, uh, like I said, if you wanna hear the full, uh, studio recordings, uh, uh, Bobby's got a couple of CDs out, uh, one's called uh, uh, the Red CD or something like that. And, uh, I don't know, go over to bobby yang.com tell you all about it. That's, that's probably the best bet. That way I don't get things messed up.
And I don't know if my audio is pretty low, but, uh, oh, well, I guess I can, uh, fix it and post edit post edit. Yeah. Anyway, I'm gonna leave you with one more Bobby Yang song. Recorded three feet from me today at, uh, W N M C. And this is, uh, Bobby's version of Cashmere. Uh, yeah, the old, uh, led Zeppelin tune. So . Anyway, check it out and, uh, we'll be back with, with an official show here, uh, real soon. Okay, well, everybody have a good one. Uh, like I said,
I just thought I would share that, uh, with you. Uh, it's probably not everybody's kind of music, but, uh, I thought it was pretty cool. So catch me later.
