Episode description

When Joanie Shawhan needed rejuvenation as a caregiver, she found that practicing gratitude made all the difference. She returns for an encore episode this week.

Joanie Shawhan is back for an encore interview! This time we talked about how she learned that gratitude helped her to find hope in the midst of a tough season of being a caregiver for her best friend in the final years of her life. Joanie herself is a survivor of ovarian cancer, and she has learned to look for the little things to be thankful for if she can’t find anything else.

This is the first of three episodes with return guests that will air this week as we celebrate the 3rd anniversary of the Life, Repurposed podcast. Joanie has a chapter in the Life, Repurposed book, and we chatted about that in our interview as well.
