Episode description

James Ighedigbo is all about putting in the work. After a standout High School football career he had no scholarship offers so he took a preferred walk on role at UMass. Within a year he was on a full ride. After a stellar college career no NFL teams came calling despite being told he’d be taken in the 5th or 6th round...Here we go again he thought. He persevered and not only worked his way into the NFL but played 10 seasons for several teams including the Jets, Bills, Patriots and winning a super bowl with the Ravens. He recently retired from the game and we sat down to talk about the transition from athlete to entrepreneur and what it’s like at just age 34 to have your athletic career behind you and so much life left in front of you. The value of education, spirituality and family in his life that guides him. The missteps he made as a Young man/athlete and what he learned and how he’s approaching this next phase of his life.
