You're listening to a MoMA mea podcast. Mamma Mere acknowledges the traditional owners of land and waters that this podcast is recorded on Sex Money Sandwich. Do I sound unhinged? Good? I'm Holly Wainwright. Welcome to Season two of mid Conversations for Gen X Women who are Anything. But maybe you've listened to season one, and if not, why not? And you've already heard me talking to some very interesting women and one man about the mess and wonder of midlife.
We talked about bodies and booze and grief and dating. Just go listen. Well, like women in their second acts, we're just warming up, and in season two, coming to your ears on August six, we're kicking it up aer Notch. We asked midwomen what they wanted us to talk about, and they told us, And so we're starting here with
sex Money Sandwich. That means what happens to desire as you move into midlife, the blistering reality that, despite what jen Z thinks, money worries don't just vanish because you're a proper grown up. And yes, the reality of being the Sandwich generation simultaneously shouldering the mental load for aging family and growing kids. Mid women's lives do not all look the same, and midlife for us doesn't look like it looked for our mothers. We were and we are
a rule breaking generation. Some of us have empty nests, some of us are parents still dealing with kids knits, while some of us are grandparents now. Some of us never wanted to or got to be, either of those things. Some of us are leaning into changing our careers, leaving bad relationships, leaping into great ones, working on the ones we have, setting off to go all the places and do all the things and taste all the everthings that
we've always fantasized about. Some of us are struggling, and the women I'm talking to Season two reflect all of that. From big names like the Australian supermodel who knows more than most about making peace with a face that no longer looks like it did at twenty to one of Australia's most successful authors, to actors and TV anchors whose names you definitely know, and some thoughtful writers and thinkers whose names will be a new but whose words will
stay with you. We're talking divorce and rage and invisibility and ambition and friendship and all the things the conversations are mid are like the conversations you're having with your gen X friends. It's the only kind of conversations we have time for now. The powerful ones, the funny ones, the helpful ones, the honest ones. Mid Season two is dropping wherever you listen to your podcasts on Tuesday, August six. I know you're busy, but go follow us. I'll be
waiting there for you, friends. And as they're saying in America right now, l FG, that's Leed's fucking goa
