You know this is a Cowboys team that has over the last eight games gone over forty point forty or more points four times in eight games? Right, have you looked back in history on that one averaging twenty five game? Have you gone back in history? No? No, to see how many times in an eight game stretch? Eight? How many times at an eight game stretch as a Cowboys team scored forty or more points? They've done it

four times in this eight game stretch. So y'all talk for the next forty five minutes and I'll look it up. That's a computer. You got to figure that one out. He ain't figuring that out on your own. Hey, we're gonna have football players on a football field behind you. It looks like there's Yes, there's stuff out practice today. Yes, it'll be a full practice, but at a walkthrough pace. Right, So yeah, like all of them, they will have helmets on.

Didn't train accomp No, No, Time was a coach, but he wasn't a college coach. He was a professional coach. Yeah, God, I just yeah. Helmets was always going to be part of it. We never went out without helmets. Well they'll have helmets today. Oh wow, that's a good compromise. No, Santa Claus hats or anything. Yeah, yesterday. No we didn't.

We never did that. No, we never did that, not even on your walk through a day walk through the walk through. Yes, we would have on Saturday before Sunday. Yea, yeah there you go. Wait Saturday, Yeah, Saturday we have, but that's a workday here with the Giants. For some strange reason, we would home game Saturday, walked through a day after everybody leave, we played touch football. Well that was that they were They were running sprints on Saturdays,

because that's the game. Was it eighty six eighty five? Danny White pulled a hamstring running sprints and he couldn't play against running sprints the day before the game. Yeah, it was. They were playing Denver and I think Pulure had to start um he pulled up lame because they were doing special teams drills and the quarterbacks were supposed to be running right, you know, like covering, and and he couldn't play. And I think I think Randy White

did something also and he couldn't play in that. Guess the game they got there. I was going to talk bad about Danny till you save Randy. Yeah. I can't put those in the same category. Yeah, all right, So what you got today? What's tough of your mind? I got a lot of stuff on my mind. I've been studying the Tennessee Titans all morning. Do you but do you know who's gonna play? Did you see their injury list? Yes, they've got a lengthy I think they have eleven starters

on their injury report. Oh, they have what they want to And I wrote down with Rabel said when they asked him, well you know who's playing or whatever, and he said, well, try to find out who we have and who's available. So that didn't bode well for them, not thinking we don't really need to win this game. But they don't have any place to turn. I mean,

they just got to play with whoever can play. Yes, so it's not like they can Well, there's one guy they can rest and that's Derrick Henry, right, and they can air on that. They're probably other guys too, but they're not as far as guys that we Yeah, they're not push them to play if they have a quality backup running back, don't they. I asked you that yesterday and the one no, nothing is he related to Jonathan Hankins. I just looked at it real for you guys. But

Don Treill Hilliard was there. Uh. Haskins out of Michigan is their fourth round draft pick this year. Don Treill Hilliard has been their backup when and we can't go but because he's hurt, all right, and so to answer your question, that's one of their injuries right now. I don't think I've ever seen a board of flights with nothing but canceled on them. And that was departure and arrival. I think a rival had more red than departures. The only one that went through it was a flight to Vegas was landing at three fifteen or something like that. Imagine they could get to Vegas. Well, they were getting coming back from Vegas. That was their arrival. So it was just I've never seen anything like it. Of course, you know all those stories on on TV, on the news,

you can confirm exactly there. It was proof proofing the casing point right there. So now it was just very interesting. Uh, we were out there for a little bit and now like baby, we ain't going nowhere. Let's get the air on out of here. Yeah, So now it was still she came. I was happy to see her. She made it home safely, and I'm glad I'm here today's news around the NFL. Today, J J. Watt As announced he's retiring McCarthy. Why do you think you waited so long? I mean, why do you think it is interesting that he waited until after the last home game for Arizona

on Sunday night against Tampa Bay. You could do maybe, I mean, I give him credit for waiting until that because it's it's egotistical that they're going to go out. Yeah, and then you get the big tribute all in the home game, not just home games, but yeah, times would appreciate what you've done as well, and they would give you love. So I'm surprised he didn't go for the flowers. And you would appreciate what he's done in his crew,

no doubt, doubt. And every first thing that pops to mind is the hurricane situation in Houston and league and the drive that he basically put together, you know, for relief for Houston during that aside from the three time Defensive Player of the Year Laurels and his NFL career. So I heard someone in the radio said, you know, I think he you know, I think he's got a chance to be a first ballot Hall of Famer. I'm like you there with jus uh. Yeah, he's a first

ballot Hall of Famer. Yeah, there's no debate. You know that when some of the quarterbacks go out, well go my god withless Burgers, Uh, farewell was conny as I don't know what. Maybe that has something to do with him not wanting to to be sent out that way, because you know the way they had it with withless Burgers. They had shots from behind where he and the family were walking off into the sunset and all this kind of stuff. I'm like, man, this guy must have a

spotless reputation off the field. Ha ha ha. And and having said that, he could have waited, I like you, ben bag, just in case anybody missed. Having said that, I guess JJ Watt could have waited a couple of weeks to make the announcement too. Yeah, but they closed, they play at Atlanta and then their last game is at San Francisco. So no, he deserves all this flows Yeah,

No he does. He doesn't. He does. Yeah, And they're not like on the outside looking in at a playoff spot well, and it's not like he's gonna be on Sunday Night football. Yeah, like Roethlisburger since last game or whatever or Thursday night, Yeah, which the Cowboys are this week, which, by the way, a question for you, mister TV guy. So since the game's on Amazon Prime, it's on Fox four locally, locally, I believe it's on Fox four. All right, Yeah, so you don't have to I had that so we

can channel yea. Which is which is the biggest issue that everyone has had with the Amazon Prime is that you got you got to have three remotes there. You got to go check ww the Mavericks are doing. You can't hold on. You can't check how the Mavericks are doing because they're not carried on anything. That's why, Um what Sunday, right, was it Sunday? You could watch football and the Mavericks at the same time, right, could go

back and forth because they were on the national oh yeodcast. Yeah. So, speaking of off the off the wall channels, YouTube, what's going on with YouTube and Monday night Football? So there's your latest from the Cowboys practice field. And we posed the question early in the show have the Cowboys ever and the history of the franchise had a stretch like the current one where they have four games with forty or more points in the last eight games played, and researchers Supreme Chris Bean has the answer for us,

mister Bean, go ahead. It has never happened. The most fifty point games in a season the forty plus and the season was nineteen seventy one, and that was the first two games of this season against Buffalo and Philly on the road. And then, like Bill told me, the first game at the New England Patriots, first game at Texas Stadium October twenty four, nineteen seventy one, they scored forty four against the Patriots. And then they had two games in December fifty two and forty two back to

back weeks since the Giants and the Jets. So they had five in that season, but those five were not in an eight game stretch like what the Cowboys currently have. And Everson, what happened in that nineteen seventy one season, can you recall I was only eleven, but I do recall celebrating sometime in January. It was the first time the Cowboys won the Super Bowl. Yes, was in that season, nineteen seventy one, closing with ten straight wins. So that I asked myself, Okay, which team do you think was

Tom's favorite? Would it be the Oh, I can't remember if that's a sixty six squad? That six was pretty good as the Detroit when they beat Detroit five nothing in times. No, that was nineteen seventy seven. That was seventy as well. Yeah, in the playoff game five nothing wow. That was nineteen seventy And that season the Cowboys went to the Super Bowl and controversially lost it to Baltimore Colts with the tip pass and a fumble on the goal line that was recovered Bud Day. Mine was the

John Mackie catch. Yeah, that's right. Yeah, yeah, So his favorite team probably was the seventy one team you think, h yeah, the first Super Bowl winning team. And okay, so there were five forty point games in that season and the Cowboys right now are at four forty point games this season. They went to the Super Bowl that year,

So what does that say to you, Bill? What do you think that that tells me that they've got two chances Thursday night in Tennessee or the season finale at Washington to get over forty points and that will match nineteen seventy one for the regular season. So aergo, and perhaps that vodes well for the postseason, and that counts for the defense scoring points two. Well, it's a total number of points to point. All right, we don't care how you get it there, you just get there. So

there you go. How big that gas bill was? Right now? Yet you're gonna find out at the end of the show whether the Cowboys are going to get forty points on Thursday night at Tennessee. All right, Mickey, we're diving into Tennessee. What was the question you posed Tennessee? What concerns you about the tennis because and I'll set this up for you, because according to this they got off to a seven and three start, seven and three start. They have now lost five straight games. Let me that

was part of my research this morning. But here a few other things. Since you're talking forty point one, two three, So if you add up the totals of three of their five losses, they don't get to forty points. They lost to Philadelphia thirty five to ten on December fourth. The following week against Jacksonville they lost thirty six to twenty two. And then you go back to the second week of the season against Buffalo, they lost forty one to seven. Those are the most points they've given up

in those losses that they have this season. But in these losses over the last five they have scored sixteen, ten, twenty two, fourteen and fourteen. That's how many points their offenses scores. Yes, yeah, what they've put on the board. All right, here's the interesting thing about that they got off to a seven and three start to start the season. Okay, but those wins. They started the season with two straight losses and then seven wins against Las Vegas by two points.

Just keep in mind the opponents, the Raiders by two points, the Colts by seven, the Commanders by four. They beat the Colts again by nine, They beat the Texans by seven. Then they lost to Kansas City by three, which might be the best game they played in that stretch, even though it was a loss because of the opponent and it was overtime, and so they were five and three at that point. Then they beat Denver, which just fired their head coach by a seven. Then this is probably

their best win. It was a Thursday night game at Green Bay. They win twenty seven seventeen. Packers were not going well at that point, though Packers have improved here over the last few weeks. Remember what happened after that game. They landed back in Nashville at four o'clock in the morning. Offensive coordinator got pulled over on the way home. Right week or so later, they fired their GM John Robinson. Look at the schedule after that, they were seven and three.

Their next four games losses to Cincinnati, Philadelphia, Jacksonville, and the Chargers. Jacksonville. We'll see if they make the playoffs, but the other three teams are playoff bound. And then Houston last week. Yeah, Houston has a better football team than them right now. That's why they lost to Houston. Houston is a pretty good Houston showed at the against Dallas and against Kansas City. Took Dallas and Kansas City right down. And then and then they won at Tennessee.

That's right, But the quality of the opposition there Tennessee. Give them credit. They won those games. But you went through that whole list and none of those teams are going to the playoffs that, yeah, but at that time, the only pushback on that is at that time those teams would they weren't what they are right now already ago they want trending down with the way they are now. I wouldn't say they were trending upward, but they want trending down with at the time that they were playing

these teams. It's like at the beginning of the season, before the season started, everyone's talking about the easiest schedule in the league. Are the NFC East teams? Okay, because they're playing the NFC East teams twice and they're coming off last they're basing it off last year's records. Okay,

well look at this year's records. And now, if if you look at the end of the season, you'll probably look back and say, you know, the Cowboys, the Eagles, and the Giants, they all played tough schedules this year.

Commanders as well, that's right. What's the Cowboys were tied I think with Washington for the easiest supposedly, Yeah, but the biggest issue Tennessee has right now is the fact that they don't have their quarterback Ryan Tannehill, and so they're going with the rookie Malik Willis, third round pick out of Liberty. And if you look at Willis last week against Houston, he was four team out of twenty three for ninety nine yards, two interceptions, no touchdowns, was

sacked four times. He ran the ball seven times for forty three yards in a touchdown. When you look back at his first game, his first game he played in was against Houston at just prior to mid season, six out of ten for fifty five yards an interception. He remember the Kansas City game that Tennessee played well against Kansas City, the twenty to seventeen game, and he started that game and it was a well coached, good offensive game plan for that matchup. He was five out of

sixteen for eighty yards, so sacked three times. He ran eight times for forty yards in that game. And if your defense comes along with you, and I'm talking in Tennessee's case, if your defense comes along with you, then you have a chance to win the game. And that's the only thing that worries me about it is, you know, Tennessee, what has us exactly what they want us, you know, coming in feeling comfortable, hoping that we can play down to our competition the way we're coming off a game

against Philadelphia week that would travel things that nature. All of those things both wealth and tend to see. You would think on paper. But to me, if you go into a game like this, I don't want a quarterback to know where I'm going to be. I'm not gonna come in with vanilla Oh, we'll get good enough to beat this team and we just go basic defense all

game long. Well, if you go out and your offense starts to stutter and then you give this offense a chance, then you'll get a big scrambled by Willis, maybe a lucky play down the field. They got the athletes as well. Next thing you know, crowds into it and we got another Jacksonville situation. You don't want to give them a chance early in the game like he did Philadelphia. Where

to pick six. I'm going to throw some things at this young quarterback to make him shake his head early in the game and have him unconfident for the rest of the game. Show him things he's never seen. I'm not coming out with vanilla coverage. I'm going to make sure that we confuse him early on so we can make We're going to keep him confusing down for the entire game. Derrick Henry has three straight games with one hundred yards rushing. Against Jacksonville he went for one hundred

and twenty one yards on seventeen carries. Against the Chargers one hundred and four yards on twenty one and this game against Houston one hundred and twenty six yards on twenty three carries, touchdowns in each of those games. His last previous one hundred yard game was that Kansas City games seventeen carries, one fifteen and two touchdowns. The Titans lost all four of those games. If you go back in Derrick Henry's career, if he got one hundred yards

in a game, they win that game. This season, his last four one hundred yard games they haven't won. Why the difference this year is that defense is not as good. That's just the way it is. That And the reason that GM got fired was that trade that was made on draft day, a J. Brown leaving Tennessee and going to the Philadelphia Eagles. And now they have no receiver to think that you can think of, now that's nearly his cow. Yeah, they drafted one from Arkansas Trail on

Burke's in the first round. But he's a rookie. Rookie yeah. And Robert Robert Woods was a guy that they signed in free agency from the Rams last year. He cannot and he was coming off everywhere he goes. He just doesn't seem to produce the other thing on their offensive line. Last game, they started two guys on their offensive line against the Texans who haven't started all year. So they

got injury issues on their offensive line. And speaking of offensive lineman, we have a six time Pro bowler who has truth on his hoodie and he must have heard something that got riled up. I am so excited, man. I'm trying to talk Douglas into making what you just said a cow bays that do not go out and get his young quarterback. I mean, I hate to do it in the brother. Yeah, I hate to do it

to the brother. But let's confused the brother. Yeah, that was that was y'all should have just walked out out there. He said, y'all should have dropped the mic. Mickey's tried to drop the mic throughout the show. I said that I said that last week about er Minshow Yeah, did that work? Don't let him get comfortable, Yeah, don't let him start seeing the fil I just dropped the game. I don't have nothing to say, but I just wanted to come. You know, that was just listening to the wisdom,

but I was just thinking I heard that before. But I just don't want us to be judged on Bill's gad filling up his trucks. I just what if you don't only get five dollars to sixty still filled up from Yeah? If we get five dollars and sixty five, ye a topping off my tank? Why did you need more as a short week? By the way, because I just topped off the tank last Thursday, I remember, because it was so cold, I wasn't gonna sit at the got. I said I should have got forty yen. He said,

a thirty yen. I would have. Wow, I did. I did win the pick last week. I don't know what you bad. Thirty to twenty six. Yeah, I was closest to the final score. But that don't mean that's a win. That's me. I just plays. I played down to my competition right here. That means you just failed lessen we did. Do you think they're gonna hand if Henry plays, they're gonna hand him the ball? He's had three hundred nineteen carries already. If he plays, you got the brother. Otherwise

was the point of planner? Would you play? Would you play him? Nate? It's two guys I know On didn't play. They got a diva's a tackle Simmons seventh. Uh, he was not play in and Henry. It would be like, hey man, come as warm as you can. I'll say, hey man, we need to support. I wouldn't if I am up the old school. If you dress, you play, do not even dress. These guys don't even enter because your whole season is not riding on this game at all.

So if Jacksonville played their quarterback and they're running back and there main while, that's dumb this one time, I'm that's dumb. Why would you even entertain that thought? I wouldn't. I wouldn't. You know, I haven't said that. Oh if that's the way they approach the game, then how should we approach the game? We gotta win it, gotta win it. But because here's the other thing. Yeah, here's the other thing. Vision title, right, how you win? You? I wouldn't. No,

I wouldn't come. Don't look at it that day ever since, don't do that. Don't don't, don't don't, don't don't. I would play our guys, yeah, you know, because you you're trying to build momentum. You're trying to build on something you did. We we finally our offense finally faced I think a nice defense last week and they performed. So you want to build on that offensively, you know, defensively, Why do you build on that? Dude, Let's say we're up twenty nothing or thirty five nothing. I don't know

any different story. Yeah, well exactly, That's why I'm asking the different questions. So you're not would you would you would take would you take them out? Yeah? Yeah, I would take I would take key guys out. Some guys will have to continue to play, but I would take key guys out. But the thing is, this is what I've always hated for the last six or seven years. At the end of a year, it's two minute scenarios

right the way we used to do it. You was playing, I heard about you talking about the pads and all of that. It never crossed my mind that you wasn't gonna be in passed when we wasn't in past we had one time, I'm gonna give the story. We got cussed out so bad before going into practice, didn't let us know that we was in not in pads. I said, hey, coach, just just put us in pass. If we got just

put us in pass. I remember coach Landry would give us days off that he did not want to give us that, so he would say, Okay, I'm gonna do this for you guys, but if one of you misses, yeah, and everybody's gonna be playing like okay, come coach, never mind, we have one days off if it's going to be those Remember the night off you got in uh in Austin. Yeah, yeah, what happened the next day? Yeah, it was ugly. It was ugly. He made up rud sprints and everybody was

losing in whatever they had. Like you said, it's not worth it, it's not worth it. But the key to this, and I tell everybody, is all thirty two teams are set on the same schedule. Not not so much as how how you practice, but you ain't hitting but once a week up until a certain amount in the year. Then after that pass coming off, whether the coach wanted

to or not, pads are coming off. So it's equal Now it truly comes down to who has the more responsible players and who has the most the largest group of players that are willing to be responsible is that are great players and your coaches.
