The following. Here's a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club Cowboys. This is Mick Shot screaming live on Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the official Dallas Cowboys have now Here are Bill Jones, Everson Walls, and Mickey Spagnola. Well, the sun really didn't come up today. Here hid inside the s to BBC podcast studio. Somehow we made it through the wintry weather. No it's not over. Well, no, we've made it here to the studio. No, no, we haven't. No,

I'm concerned about the drive home. Yes, snow for real to the north. It's late afternoon to the north of us. Well we're north, yeah, yeah, to the north of us though, we're kind of on that line. So will we miss the weather man? Will we be in? Well? Do you trust whether people with their prognostications? If you trust whether people with their prognostications, it's not going to hit the Metroplex.

Apparently the ground that has changed. It's the ground as far as creating um bad driving driving conditions because the ground is too far. I tried. But the point is, yes, the sun did not come up today. So I'm going to ask you. I figured out there were it came up. Addition, come out there were there were seven. Let me see my list too old fashion newspaper. Look at Mickey, he's got the old newspaper that costs three dollars on the

news standing seven teams had twelve wins or more. Okay, how many of those teams are people asking questions of about the head coach's job? One? Yes, just us? Just one? No Buffalo, no right, no, Minnesota, no Minnesota No. Just how many with two straight seasons of twelve wins or more are the one? I'm gonna guess. Just watch. I didn't do the research, but just one. Amazing, isn't it? It really is? And not just that. I mean, you can take the quarterback on out of there with you.

Cousins is probably still, you know, enjoying that big contract. Josh Allen, Josh Allen, Oh man, he's the darler. He got commercials to make you know. I hadn't seen the guy so blessed and so coveted in a long time. I Mean, we talk about the Cowboys and their problems, Buffalo losing at home in their own snow. They had their own snow like that their own Yeah, snow, they deserved their own manufacture snow and Buffalo, and they still

couldn't win, still couldn't win at home. And they're used to it, right, and and everybody's still talking about that. Nobody's talking about Josh. Nobody's talking about it is amazing. They love Josh. As a matter of fact, I saw some headline and they used a picture of Brett Maher and part the first part of the story that have nothing to do with them. I think I think Brett

just kind of typifies the well, what competence. So someplace it's so when I read finally down, someplace called super Book placed odds on five to one if he would make his first extra point, Wow, if he would make the not if he misses. It wasn't about they get blocked. Uh, it counted because, as everyone pointed out, it was gonna miss anyone. The largest, the largest bet at five. There were so many people putting money on it that they

reduced it to three to one. Wow. But somebody that had five to one put a thousand dollars on it, and he collected that's an easy person collect an easy for me. Yeah, that's an easy bet. They'll be nervous. All right, this mattress mac, Yes, saw that Houston? Yeah, okay, you see that? Yeah? What was it? A two million dollars? He uh, he had two million dollars at Caesar's in New York. He placed it on the Cowboys to win. Yeah,

well they didn't. But he also had a promotion offer that if customers spent three thousand dollars with him and the Cowboys won, he'd give them their money back. So nobody got Yeah, all right. He did the same thing for TCU or against tc OR. He was four TCU, he bet he bet four TCU in the National Championship game against Georgia. Does I know he does it all the time? Money with the Astros, Right, he's a Houston guy. Yeah? Can he stay out of our business here at Dallas.

The thing with that guys along along with the governor. Yeah, go ahead, I'm sorry, Chris, I was gonna say. Is the way he does it is is like before the seasons, like the Houston wins the World Series, you get your your money back on the mattresses. So he plays the odds where like how many people he has to get the money back to, and he does the reverse on the other side. Does that make sense? You can pay them. But how about this one, Now, this was a really

good one. Some place had a you had to play five dollars. It was a five dollar bet and you had to pick the first person in each of those, each of the playoff games to score a touchdown. And when Schultz scored, yeah, guy collected seventy two thousand in seven huns. He got it right. Game. Oh you're not a better but it's called a parlay. Yeah, well, well what's the difference. It's a bet. I don't even care what the name is. Yeah, but I mean that that

that that you know speaks to the payout. Yeah, so you have to well, if you get one right, you don't get anything. Yeah, okay, yeah, I said they had to get all four right. Yeah, it's like picking four horses in a race in a race, right, m hmm. A lot of times where they'll do with those. I saw it on Twitter, Mack that someone had the first touchdown on our game was the forty nine ers tight end. Yeah. Obviously he didn't hit that one, so but I had to wait till the fourth. So usually it's a two

day It's been a two day bet. On those lot times you can if you're the first two hit, you can pay out like they'll offer you. They'll offer you, okay, two hundred dollars right now if you guys, if you gonna take the money, he or you or you ride. So this doesn't even know about parlay, But I know what a parlay is. No, you don't. Just like he just said, it had not been to the horse tracks before, okay,

the horse track. Yeah, And I've seen parlays in college football that you had to pick like three because you act like you didn't know it first. No, I didn't. I just didn't use the word I got all right. So U So, what's the latest on whether who's going to be the head coach of this team that season? I think the cancer on Sunday was no, no, no, Well, offensive coordinator right, anybody out there looking for an offensive coordinator because they are really are, Like half the league

is looking for an offensive coordinator. Right. There's a been about about fifteen teams that have either uh fire their head coach or fire their offensive coordinator. I think we would we would quick it. You would probably see Quinn leaving or getting courted more than you would in the second interview today with Arizona. Really and you know what if you think, by the way Kellen Moore with Carolina right, interesting, there's five teams needing head coaches. Four of them for

sure need a quarterback. Well, three because they can't get out of it in Denver. Right, he's you're inherent. Yeah, he's Russell Wilson. Yeah, he's done, he's he's Kyler Murray might be the only incumbent that you're saying, I gotta figure out what to do with him. But the rest of them are all looking for quarterbacks. So what's the you know, common denominator there. So you don't have a good quarterback, you're getting fired. What if we lose our

offensive coordinator? Who steps up? That's something that we have never talked about. Do we go out there looking for another offensive on NAT? Do we promote in house? Do you tell Mike McCarthy he's the offensive coordinator. I wouldn't mind it at all. You're saying, the offensive coordinator, the defensive quarter offensive offensive, Yeah, because you know how we could replaced Kelly Moore. You know, we always talk about losing him, We'll never talk about replacing him. Well, the

greater chance is losing dan Quinn, wouldn't you agree, right? Okay? So then even though even though Kelly Moore is interviewing at Carolina right now or supposedly today, So then if they know dan Quinn is out there taking interviews, then who are we looking at to take over as a defensive coordinator? Well, I think the first question you got to ask is there's somebody out there that's better, right

than what you have in house? Because as we saw in training camp that one year, Joe Witt junior, Yeah, I would think a candidate. I would think George Edwards would be a candidate if you wanted to continue what you had going right, which was pretty darn good right wins to it two years and ago. Yeah, and the

defense has gotten better improved. I don't know if you want somebody to come in and change the whole concept of what you got going defensively, maybe somebody else comes in and has a whole to different idea what they want to do. With Michael Parsons, I don't think so. But if you just said, okay, Joe Witt juniors are ready to go, and they've always said that, right, I didn't know that. No, I did not yeah, okay, well

they of course head coach of the defensive coordinator. Yeah, and George Edwards has been a long time defensive coordinator. So now can you find somebody? And here so here's the key too. Somebody has to be available, That's what I'm saying. We might go, you don't get the just steal somebody, right, They got to be available, and why are they available? You know their head coach probably got fired staffs, so that that always factors into the equation.

Would you rather be the defensive coordinator or the Dallas Cowboys or the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals? Very good quest. That's a good question. You have an answer

to your own question. I think myself I would I'd like being the defensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys, especially you're being compensated handsomely right right, And with the situation in Arizona right now, you got to look at it right now, the team and the defensive coordinator here doesn't have the headache that the head coach will in Arizona trying to figure out what do I do with Kyler Murray because they're sort of stuff, especially when you're a

defensive coach. Yes, because you got a defensive head coach. You get how you got to hire someone because your quarterback is this long term contract and I would amain the skill set is not right, doesn't seem to be suitable for just every offensive coordinator. So if I'm interviewing Dan Quinn, my first question is who's your offensive coordinator? And he's got to have an answer. Yeah, And he's got to have an answer that he knows he can

get the person right. That's a tough one. So what's the temperature in the coaches not the locker room, but the coach's rooms. Does it feel like this is the time to bail? Does it seem like the marriage is over? The experiment, consider the failure, and let's move on. What's the temperature? Does it feel like Quinn wants to go? I don't. I don't have a feel for that. Yeah, because I'm thinking if I'm gonna get that job the second time, it's gonna have to be a perfect situation.

I'm not like the first time head coach that I can't turn this down. There they want me to be the head coach. But if I got a job, I like I'm getting paid. Well, I got to be the right situation, and unfortunately, usually the reason they're looking for a new head coach is number one, they were pitiful, and number two they didn't have a quarterback. So Kellen Moore back on Quinn all right. The other thing with Quinn, right,

he's fifty two years old right now. I mean, there there comes a point where age wise, where there's a threshold where now you're considered too old or whatever. You know, but he's fifty two, which is not of the young ideas, right. I mean, you look around the league and the guys that look at two's still alive in the playoffs right now. You've got Zach Taylor younger coach and Cincinnati. You've got Kyle Shanahan younger coach San Francisco, Nick Sirianni younger coach Philadelphia,

and then you got Andy Reid McVeagh. He's still i mean, still alive in the playoffs. Right But but but to that point, mcvagh is another one. Let's keep coaching. Yeah, righty gonna take off a year, didn't he take off some time? So the forty year old range is kind of the sweet spot. You know that owners they love getting that guy that's you know, so Kellen Morris makes him look real smart when they hire someone who's Kellen Moore in the spot. Yeah yeah, So, And what's been

the temperature with him? I mean, has he thought about it? Has he mentioned it? Have he interviewed him? Who has the media talk to him? Has been in Carolina? I think I haven't heard his name come up elsewhere. I

haven't either, So it's been Carolina. I think his name came up more so about fourteen months ago when Tony Romo was saying, this guy's going to give me a head coach next year and didn't happen for twenty twenty two, and now his name is not mentioned as much for twenty twenty three, trying to be which gets to the point of what, like Quinn, okay, is this the sweet

spot for him finding a head coaching job too? I'm where Okay, he's got two straight seasons where he's led the league in takeaways, and so what are the Cowboys have coming back on defense to make him have a third straight season where he's got this kind of top five type defense in the league. But you say, you gotta way, Okay, what what are the Cowboys losing in free agency? I mean think you think if you think if he gets a gets a job, that he would

take Kellen Moore with him. Was that possibility because he's under contract? Okay, that would be a lateral move. Yes, so you would have to have the blessing of Jerry Jones, which I don't think that's happening. No. So, and you do want to go and try to develop another quarterback that has somewhat failed coming off an injury that you don't know if he's ready. Yeah, even the next year, exactly,

that's right. You got to consider those things. And it's like, you know, as long as Quinn continues to coach, well, his name will continue to come up. So you gotta I gotta wait it always. I always go back to Sean Payton when he got interviewed for the Raiders head coaching job and he turned it down. They were going to give it to him. They didn't say that after it, but they offered it to him. He turned it down

and came back one more year as the Cowboys. Whatever Bill had him offensive coordinator pass game coordinator because he didn't feel right about the quarterback situation there. They were kind of in between, and he thought, yeah, I don't know. And I remember someone wrote that he just committed professional suicide by not by turning down, of all people, Al Davis, right, turned it down, came back here one more year and

then got the Saints job and how's going well? Yeah, and he ended up being very successful taking that job, where I think he was looking at what was going on with the Raiders at that time. All right, here's a great trivia question. So that was two thousand and six, It would have been two thousand and six season five. Yeah, that was here's your trivia question. Who who was the quarterback of the Oakland Raiders in two thousand and six,

So that's what you're talking about. Sean Payton didn't like what the what they had at quarterback, the quarterback situation, all right. Andrew Walter started eight games, went two and six. And Aaron Brooks, who was probably the starter to start the year. He came over from New Orleans. Aaron Brooks, remember he was at the Saints. He had eight starts. He was thirty years old at the time. He had eight starts and went oh and eight. Who was a

quarterback in two thousand and five? Five? It was coming off the old five season. Maybe when he well Art Shall oh yeah, because north Turner was the head coach of the Raiders in Old five. He was let go after a four and two well seasons, so that's when they would have been looking. They hired Art Shell uh and their quarterback in OH five was Carry Collins. They went and he went four and eleven as a starter.

When when he was thirty three years old, when it was Shawn's first year with the with the Saints seven, because I was thinking was oh six and maybe it was. It was all right, let me check that out. Whoops. I think he came back here in OH five and then became the Saints quarterback. Okay, so then it was Kerry Collins. Let's see signed Drew Brees from San Diego, right, he was a free agent. Miami turned him down because they didn't like the looks of his his show. Yeah,

Peyton was first year with the Saints was OH six. Yeah, so that was the O five season when they offered him the head coach. So Carry Collins was the quarterback of the Raiders and yeah, and so he made a pretty wise decision. But north Turner was the head coach there with the Raiders in OH five, Well, maybe they promoted him or steal the head coach. I think it was a one year deal. I thought one more move here testing my old memory, and turner was in oh

four and oh five. They went five and eleven and oh four, and in four and twelve and oh five. So anyway, all right, let's dive into the future. Yes, you want to do that. I got a long list of impending unrestricted free agent. All right, when we come back, you're on mix shots. The Medal of Honor is our country's highest military award for valor in combat. More than forty million individuals have served in the armed forces since the Civil War. Fewer than four thousand have received the

Medal of Honor. The National Medal of Honor Museum will be a place to preserve these legacies and inspire America. It's being built right next door to the Dallas Cowboys in Texas. Help us honor our country's greatest heroes. Learn more and get in volved at mh museum dot org. We paid how much for those lessons? She's doing great? Oh yeah, totally. Can you pass me a pepsi zero sugar? Great job, honey, Oh oh, look at that. That's not the end no way. Now it's time for the encore.

You know what You're right? Five times not enough times for everyone who traded in rock concerts for their kids recitals. You've compromised enough. PEPSI zero sugar, That's what I like. Nobody protects you from Mayhem like All State. You hear that I'm a torrential downpour? Torrential? What does that even mean? It means you can't see out of your windshie are and if you have the wrong car insurance, you might

have to make it rain to fix your bumper. So switch to all State, save money and be better protected from Mayhem like me based on coverage and limits selected subject to terms, conditions, and availability. In most states, prices very based on how you buying All State? Bar and

Caucht the insurance company, and it's strubo Illinois. What do you call a group of grown men and women with their faces painted silver and blue who get together every week to share a three hour long ritual of jumping, sinking, and toasting Miller lite and Tim Gallant hats while yelling how about them cowboys? You call it Miller Time in Dallas. Here's to the cowboys, Here's to the original light beer. It's Miller time Celebrate Responsibly twenty twenty one. Miller Brewing

Company for Orch Texas. Back back to Mick shots. K Post Roofing and Waterproofing, proud partner of the Dallas Cowboys. From corporate homes to your home. You have your roof checked by choice, not by chance. Call now two one four eight six zero Kpe Postcompany dot com. Okay, we have some impending free agents. We have quite a number of impending free agents, both unrestricted and restricted, that the Cowboys will be assessing over the next month. Well, the

surest thing about all these is the restricted one. Tarence Steele will be back right then. They will pick his up, and it's probably they will get him if they don't get a long term deal one year and probably restricted at the first round pick probably around three or four million dollars, which will be more money than he's made

in his first three years combined in the league. Well, okay, so it'll be interesting because sometimes when they get in that situation, they can sign a guide to a longer term deal with a signing bonus to lower the salary cap hit the first year. Explain again how that works. As far as the first round tender, yeah, he was an undraft did guy right and go ahead? So if you tendered him at his original round, there wasn't an

original round walls round. Yeah, it's real low, and so somebody, somebody could sign him and the Cowboys would get if they didn't match it, they would get nothing. Okay, So you can you can restrict them as a first round, a second round or original round. I would imagine he would have to be a first yes, but if you

didn't get a deal done long term with him. So the money on that is will be determined a month or so from now right on what the first round tender money is, and I'm guessing it's getting close to four or five million. And if another team made an offer and signed him, they would owe the Cowboys a first round draft pick, yes, absolutely, and then the other

ones ric O'Donnell who ended up on injured reserve. You know, I was surprised that they didn't use Malik Davis a little bit more in this game after they lost Polo, because he's been pretty good when they've given him an opportunity, and he's got a little of that wiggle to him like Pollard and he's not as big, but he's pretty fast. He knows how to hit the whole. Yeah, he hits it hard, just like polar something for someone his size,

he's able to split. And I have very surprised as well, simply because you know, Zeke wasn't ready fun entire game. Yeah you know what I mean, how many reps would he have had in practice leading up to that game? Probably not very many. That that probably was more had to do with it then. And if you know a week in advance that Tony Pollard's going to be out for this game, then Malik Davis is in that role in practice and he's getting reps in r And I

had a feeling that was the case. But you know, everything that we were doing was being met with much resistance. So as far as I was concerned, if you're going to put him in there, that's got the be a simple game plan that can be right, you know what I'm saying. So let's let's use that because nothing we were using was working. You know, the offensive line was struggling, right right, So I mean, I don't know, I know he knows basic offense he ended he could have been

the least given Zeke. Well, he ended up with three offensive snaps, but he had sixteen special team snaps. And well, and think about it. Third quarter. Here's here's what happened in the third quarter of the game, and we'll get back to the free agency. All right, Cowboys had the ball, they got one first down, Zeke had a couple of carries, they punted, and then they had the fumble on the pump return. So Dallas has it at the twenty one

yard line. It was a CD run. So there's your Pollard play, okay for two yards, A completion to CD, a completion to Schultz. Now you got second and goal at the six, Zeke minus one, third and goal at the seven income plate. You're kicking a field goal. Now you're it's a nine nine game. You get the ball back the next time you complete from the nine yard line, the forty six yard or to CD. Then you went incomplete Zeke plus five, incomplete punt, and now San Francisco

goes on a six minute drive. It's now fourth quarter. You're down sixteen to nine, and Zeke had two carries on the next position that ended in a field goal. So those are the possessions that Cowboys had throughout the third, throughout a quarter and a half, and then Oakland, I mean Oakland San Francisco gets the ball back and they go on eight minute drive from eleven oh three to three h four left in the game. You're just throwing throwing right, right, So Pollard would have been used obviously

in that. But at that point, there weren't that many opportunities, really that many possessions other than you could have thrown them the ball, and they did a lot of that because they were trying. We're having trouble with the pass rush, right, that's while you saw those smoke screens. I mean, you know, I bet half of CDs catches were smoke screens. They probably will because they were trying to run the ball from that position. It was and it was it was.

I mean, he's pretty good about slithering his way through, right, He's a he's a dog man. I love him. Which one thing about that game, there weren't very many possessions for either team, and there were Cowboys had four possessions in the first half, and then basically they were gifted an extra possession with a fumbled punt return to start the half. But otherwise, when when San Francisco goes as

well as the defense played in the second half. San Francisco was able to mount in two drives fourteen minutes worth a time of possession, so they ate up a whole quarter there on two possessions a six minute drive in an eight minute drive. Actually it was thirteen fifty dis Yeah, right, the Cowboys, if you'd don't count the last possession, that was what forty five seconds? They had

nine possessions. Normally I think average is around twelve, and San Francisco only had nine, So yeah, there wasn't a lot of possessions. You're right, all right. As the Cowboys have twenty unrestricted free agents. I think The Morning News had twenty one, but they released trayvon Mullen and he would have been one, so they've got twenty of note guys that played a lot. Anthony Barr this is alphabetical Anthony Brown, who's injured but was a starter, Noah Brown,

Dante Fowler, Luke Gifford, C. CJ. Goodwin. So your two special teams aces Jonathan Hankins, t Y Hilton A right, that was kind of an addition. Connor McGovern's a starter, Brett Mayers a starter, Jake McQuaid was a starter, so you can make a half there because McQuaid and Overton shared the job. Jason Peters was a backup, Tony Pollard starter starter, Cooper Rush Dalton shower for five games, Vanders

the starter, Carlos Watkins, he's a starter, Donovan Wilson. That's ten starters if you count the two special teamers as one kicker in the long stamp. Yeah, sixteen players, ten starters something like that, twenty twenty, so half of them

are starters basically. And you know you're and you already which by the way I looked it up, at this point, you already have nine million dollars in dead money, and trey Von is going into his contract year yes, which you probably won't be happy about, and I mean, welcome to the cow much time and other big contracts. So CD, yep, you have to make the fifty fifth year. If they will, they will, they will. So he's got two years under control, right,

and Parsons is three years under control. But you're getting to the point in Parsons contract where you got to start looking at extending him. Dak has two years left on his deal. How does that work? On the extra years, avoidable years, whatever. Yeah, I'd have to look. But to the point is those huge contracts that you're looking at when you make decisions on these guys, and seeing everybody wants to bring up Zeke Um because of his contract.

His base salary for this year for this coming year is ten point nine million, so it's eleven million, but but they have to account for eleven point eight six million yet on his dead money in his contract. So if you said no, Zeke were done, you can save ten point nine but it's going to cost you eleven point eight six regardless if you do it all now or half now, half next year. So you know, there's

all this talk about him restructuring his deal. Okay, well what are you going to You don't want to restructure it. You got to start from scratch like they did with DeMarcus Lawrence, right, because if you restructure it, then there's usually a restructured bonus to get him his money, but at not all costs at once ten point nine million.

So what they did with Lawrence is they reduced, they got rid of basically his contract and signed him to a three year deal that would add up to what he was supposed to make this year, but they spread it out over three years and guaranteed it. So he decided he would take the guaranteed money instead of just playing on a one year deal. Basically, So it comes down to economics and what a guy wants to do at this point. You know, Zeke can say, yeah, I want to be here, Okay, well let's see how badly

you want to be here. And so that's going to be in I mean, it already was a headline story in the morning news today, so we'll see where that one goes. But like I said, when you start putting money into you know, dead money and it carries over, it's like, like, you know, the biggest amount of dead money this coming twenty twenty three season will be Layold Collins.

You don't just wash your hands of people when you owe You've got to It's not like you owe them money, but you got to account for the money you're already paid them in bonus and restruct your bonus. So and you know, with Polo being hurt, that really kind of complicates the right a little bit, not just for Polot individually, right, but for how do we approach the offseason when it comes to the running back position, yeah, or how do you approach Pollard to try to keep him? Do you

want to keep him? And then how much? You know, because you got to see something and I don't know what other A lot of it has to do what other teams do, Right, what do they think of Pollard? Right? You know, and knowing that he I think today he was supposed to have the surgery and it's a fractured fibula, and we still hadn't talked about the ankle, and the ankle they had to. I haven't heard what the MRI said on his ankle, okay, so there could be something there.

So he's probably looking at three or four months of rehab. Right. Here's another thing that I mean, you think of a guy like Tyrn Smith who has decision to make himself on right. You know, he's approaching retirement age and I'm sure he's got money that needs to still be accounted for in you know, I mean you talk about those unrestricted free agents. Other guys will make decisions on their their own decisions on their future. That's true too. Yeah, same thing with like you know Peters as he want

to play at forty one with a bad hip. Yeah, yeah, And bad hip for forty year olds and not a good thing. Yeah, that's t y Hill. Does Hilton want to play? Did he show enough? Did somebody else see you? Oh? We could use him and we're gonna pay him more. Um So there's always those decisions. I think Tyrn's going into his contract here, I think twenty three. I'm looking this is correct on hire. He's got avoidable year in twenty four. But so Tyrn Smith, Yeah, Tyrn that this

could be his last. Yeah, so that they got to account for him. Yeah. Right, So so at this point, probably most of his restructure money is all well, they restructured him, I thought. So, I don't know if all his money is still accounted for or not. That'll be one way we have to look into. You can see how important it was to to win this year. Well, to draft Tyler Smith. Oh okay, yes, to draft Tyler Smith last day. It's always important, always, But but what

when when you got this many free agents? I mean, you know that plays into a dan Quinn decision. If he gets offered the Arizona job or whatever. You know, if you doll plays into it. Okay, what are the chances that Cowboys can get back to so how many how many defensive starters did I mention one? Two, three? Well you had Hankins, vander Esh, Donovan Wilson, Carlos Watkins, bar, there's five right there and then and you've mentioned Vanderesh right, yea,

so yeah, five out of eleven that's pretty significant. Ye all right, we continue with more mix shots in a moment. We paid how much for those lessons? She's doing great? Oh yeah, totally. Can you pass me a pepsi zero sugar? Great job, honey, Oh look at that. That's not the end, No way, Now it's time for the encore. You know what, You're right? Five times not enough times for everyone who traded in rock concerts for their kids recitals. You've compromised enough.

I've never had a pair of boots either, because they

were even in the ear. Even in the urban cowboy days, you were never You never got on the urban cowboy. I hated when all the guys come to town, you know, play for the cowboys, and the first thing they do is get cowboy boots, right, Like why I lived all my life everybody tells you they're so comfortable. They are not. They are not. Thank you are not. Nothing comes about boots at all. With a big old point trying to driving that thing. I mastered the gas pedal and the

break at the same time. My shoes with a big heel both days are long, platform Bell Bottoms go. So who are your priorities on that free agent list? Well, vander esh would be one of them, and I think, um, well, it comes down to money. But Donovan Wilson's been pretty darn good this year. And it was Lansing Wood in the game. Yes, wow, I was playing, so for sure. Um,

those two guys. Um, you know, poor Anthony Brown, he's in a difficult situation and having to come back from them and at his age now too right and his position by the way, because you got a back pedal. Yeah, uh so I'm not sure what will happen there. You know, it could be uh and this is not to diminish his value, but you know, not knowing, Um, you might say, okay, I'll give you a one year deal and you know, kind of a prove it deal because I don't know

how everybody else in the league will value him. Also not a free agent. But what about Jordan Lewis, how's he doing? Uh, he's under contracts Okay, they're good now. It was Lis franc injury fractured Lis Frank. Um, he was moving along pretty good last time I saw him in the locker room. Uh, Anthony Brown actually went to these last two playoff games, but he was in a big old boot, uh, and he was in the process.

And I know this very well, because they want to elevate your heel, right, So there's three levels of elevations, and every week after a certain time, you take one out and then you take the next one out. Then you take the next one out, and you're flat. Anthony Brown just turned twenty nine in December. Jordan Lewis is twenty seven. He'll be twenty eight end of August. So from an age standpoint, for instance, Xavier Rhodes early thirties, guy, do you see how men snaps he got in the

game zero? Well the day, Yeah, they elevate him off the practice squad and that didn't use him. So and I know we're getting way ahead of ourselves. But if you're looking at needs, which I assume going back on roads, one of the reasons then that he got in the Tampa Bay game, which likely because of curses injury, even though curse is a safety what you know kind of right not? And what they were going to do at the different quarterback inety positions. Yeah, No, I was saying,

this is getting way ahead of yourself. But if you're looking at definite needs, you know, not knowing at this point you managed Lewis and where Brown is probably need a cornerback. I mean, yeah, think about the San Francisco game. How many true cornerbacks did they use in that game? Yeah? Two? And they digs and Bland and they were right. They were playing a lot of safeties at corner right, or they were playing zone like the one zone that they

went San Francisco went empty. And then in the slot you see Anthony Barr against one I think it was Ayouk and it's like, well, that's not fair. And then it was worse because if you watch and we talked about it yesterday, where they had Purty throwing the football, it was almost between the hash mark the whole time. And when Barr lined up, he lined up outside. He's not gonna throw it outside, He's gonna throw it inside. Right.

But think about the person and l that Dan Quinn and Joe Witt Junior had to work with at the cornerback yes position in that game and against Tampa Bay, and the scheme that they were able to come up with and using their safeties in the versatility of those safeties I think that was for that because they felt that San Francisco was probably going to use the running back a little bit more, right, and then you know,

passing the ball. Yeah. Well, and and they don't aren't dictating what they're going to do with their They with deebo and McCaffrey, who can both play running back or receiver. Uh, you don't know what the snap whether, and they might they might have found something with mcquomo too, because he was a corner. They moved him to safety, but they could play slot and he as big as he was, right,

he was able to play the slot receiver very well. Right, Yes, so yeah, uh, cornerback right, Um, that could be that could be a safe you're right there, mkombo. And well and but it's not like they haven't drafted cornerbacks. Oh well, but you got a second you got a second rounder from you gotta hope that and then a third rounder from that same draft. He figures it out. I mean, godsend was bland, right, because you don't rush on your fifth round pick being a starter. So to me, yeah,

well yeah, I wouldn't even say his name. You need you need to go, guy, guy, guy, dude, you need to go work. You need to go work. You know what the worst part about about his situation. He didn't play that much at LSU. Then he sits out ghost at Kentucky played nine games right comes here. Hardly played corner last year at all, and this year he got an opportunity and showed that his instincts weren't that great.

But he hasn't played that much football. So I don't know, do you just like, okay, force feeded or what we got somebody lurking on? We can we can save this to when we return next Monday. But wide receiver, I think is a big need. Yes, because if you look at it, master of the obvious here, and my point is, if you look at how the wide receivers played this

year history, Lamb could start for anybody who else. And in fact, if you just look at the Cowboys and the Niners roster, it's Debo and Lamb they're they're your wide receiver. Top two wide receivers right in that game. Yes, and then the tight end m hm, who by the way, is not on Oh yes, he was, okay, and he's on this list twenty guys, And you got to figure out what you do there because now the franchise tag.

Although I did figure out though, if you franchised him, franchised him two years in a row, that two year total would match what those other tight ends that were franchise or signed to long term deals this year. You would have a very disgruntled tight end. Yes, that what happened. Well, he was disgruntled already, yeah, yeah, all right, so we got we got good stuff to talk about draft show, right, So you don't want to talk about Dalton at the

end of the game the other day. The two plays on the side of what he did it off the air yesterday. He was whispering about it yesterday. I'll tell you why. To the security going out here on the show. I had to come in and bust in on the conversation. That saved this for the show. That was not a very good advertisement for something good look at all? Right, up that guy too, but not a good look at all.

You won that one guy seventy two thousand dollars, right, that's right, all right, And so going forward this offseason, we will convene for mixed shots on Mondays at eleven ams and if you need a long weekend and take Thursday Friday, not Monday.
