The following. Here's a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club Cowboys. This is Mick Shot screaming live on Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the official Dallas Cowboys apt now Here are Bill Jones, Everson Walls, and Nicky Spagnola. Just in the nick of time, Mickey Spagnola puts his headsets on for another edition of mix Shots inside the SWBC podcast studio on a Tuesday here at the Star in Frisco. It's a player's off Tuesday, but it's not a day off or any of us
here inside this studio, espacially Chris Man, Chris Beam. That's right, he's trying to explain everything to us. He is. We're so dense. We we are, you know after that game, already figured that out. I think let's lack about that. After that game on Sunday, Why did they have a day off? They ought to be here at working. You gotta tune into this show. They got no idea what
they're talking about. All right, So here we are, And we had an eventful afternoon yesterday, which was the usual Monday after a Cowboys game, where Mike McCarthy talks to the media and the coordinators talk to the media, and what is different from the past Mondays after a Cowboys Sunday? Is this one they had more questions to answer? Right? Mickeing? Uh? They did? Um and uh, first time in a long time he had to address a loss and the coordinators
more so than Mike. I'm sure Mike's used to it, right, And well, I guess Dan Quinn's used to it also, dressing after a loss and um he Kellen smart boy? Now TCU pull that offer? Well, you know what, where did I write that down? I wrote it down. I wrote it down. I wrote it down yesterday. I wrote it down yesterday afternoon. I'm going, okay, So we're not going to hear anything today about Dak being the comeback
player of the year, offensive player of the year. Probably not going to hear anything more more about Trey Von Diggs being the NFC defensive get toasted all the time, Michael Parsons being the rookie of the year, And probably not going to hear anything more about Kellen Moore becoming the head coach at Texas Tech. Don't you think that we are? But don't you feel that Buffalo gets a slight pass in comparison. You know, Tampas gets a pass. I bet they're not getting a pass in Buffalo. I
don't think they're gonna pass. Bet not No. They're saying the same stuff on Buffalo bills dot Com. Do you think the Saints are getting the pass? I bet not no. I mean, it's it's just that when it's when it comes to us, it's like, what are they doing? What are they thinking? What? Dad? You're right on those Yeah, and they can't wait to vilify us. You know that's true. That's true. And and I hear it all the time.
Tim was gonna be okay. Green Bay is gonna be okay. Yeah, but with that, Oh, what do you think is gonna be the doom and gloom today? I was going to Will, Will the Packers be okay? They keep down Aaron Rodgers. He's gonna be okay. That's all that's all here. Will he can he can be eligible on Saturday. He'll be okay. No practice for two weeks and he's okay. They had to clean up dan Quinn's press conference a little bit. A few He has a tendency to drop some I
wonder if he did that in Atlanta. It is Prescott. What did they do? No, not, He's just he's just genuine just kind of into you know, he's star vernacular episode. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, gotta clean this s up. He does know it's being streamed. Yes, I think he does, okay, and that people are transcribing. But yeah, I thought, you know, time to answer some questions, and they did. And so so here we are on Tuesday, putting things into perspective. Yeah, hopefully. I mean, you know,
I thought Jerry put it in perspective. It's like, how is this language? It was fine, Yeah, he was fine, and he was very um, matter of fact and you know, very uh, I don't know, it was very pregnant even key. Yeah. Yeah, that's the word I was looking for. You know. It's like, okay, we got things to clean up, but you know, everything's not falling apart, you know, and this is the NFL, as Steven will go, Yeah, and Asdeven Steven said, Sunday
you know or Monday. You know, they pay the other guys and you know, so the stuff is going to happen. And I thought he knew it happened around the league. Yeah, I think seven things that kind of gives everybody a little bit of reprieve. Yeah, look look who else got by, you know, and look who they got beat by. You know, they were favored to win, and it wasn't just before this weekend. You had some odd upsets even before that. So right, to me, I love it. I love it.
It just kind of evens the playing field for everyone. The injuries, you know, the masking and the all all of that. To me, the team that comes out of this, it's going to be the better team, not just play with but the organization itself. How they handled these problems that we're having, and let's just be real, all of the things that that hit us, uh well, it was
the Murphy's law really in that game. Everything that could go wrong went wrong and it uh but it did shine a light on some things that we better show up if we want to talk about going all the way. Yeah, absolutely, that's what I like about not good enough just to role All right, We're these all the same things that we already had problems with and had a little concern about. Of course, passing defense, giving up big plays, run defense,
giving up too many at a time. You know, this is the first time it really hit us all at once, but all of those things that happened in the game, all of us here, we have made mention of it and it hasn't gone away yet, which is something that was shown in the backup swing tackle playing left tackle we talked about. So that was by going to be my first question today. What as we go forward now
reaching the halfway point of the season. At halftime I was gonna say at halftime of the Atlantic game, it will be the halfway point of the season, so we may change our mind by halftime of the Atlantic game.
The answer to this question, but what is the most concerning um thing about this team going into the second half of the season, if you could pick one thing that is the most concerning for them to get to where they want to go as well, Let's let's assume we're going to assume that Dak is healthy the rest
of the way. All right, Okay, Assuming Dak is healthy the rest of the way from the evidence that is in front of you right now with this team and where everybody sits, whether they're on injured reserve or on the active roster or you know, not playing lately, or or the status of a run defense or whatever it might be what's the most the most concerning thing could be an end of visual making sure position, It could be anything and if you have to touch hands or whatever,
making sure Tyrant Smith plays at least thirteen games this season. I will second that he's not going to play them all. And everybody complained about the last what three or four years, he always misses three games. Okay, I can deal with missing three games. I can't deal with them missing fourteen last year. Or you don't want to missing the last three games. Yes, we would like for him to sprinkle
them in throughout the rest. They need him to get back on the field because this offense can cure what ails them defensively. Well, here's the thing, and I really didn't pay attention much because I was at the game. It's just so hard to study the game while you're there. So you're looking at did we give him too much autonomy as a player? Did we trust the tackles too much? Because there were times when we had on the left side and we took care we protected the right tackle.
I don't think we protected anyone this game. I think were like, okay, go show me what business. Let's show me what you can do. Because they've got they just lost Vong and you talked about the defensive end, and they had their other guy at missing too, and then Malake Reid was also out to who So when you look at that, do you think he's okay going out there? No no short leash this time. Let me see what you can do. Talking steal mostly, I'm really not talking Colin,
but talking steal mostly. Do you think that he didn't give him enough protection and that we should in the future consider that putting the tight ends there on his side, giving him a little chip access or chip help, those kind of things didn't seem to be there this last game. Or the fact that this was the first time he had extended time at left tackle in his life. Maybe
in high school, I don't know. But Texas Tech as a four year starter, he played right tackle, and in preseason he got some reps at left tackle, but not a lot. And so, and is how big of a difference is it for him? Its individually? Yeah? Is it? How much of a difference is it for him individually to play left tackle as opposed to right tackle? He admitted after the game that it was more than he expected. Yeah, they started off with I thought the first couple possessions
a lot of too tight end. Yeah, and then they got behind and they kind of got away from it, and they got away from the running game also. And you know what I mean, because you guys have brought that to my attention. That's why I'm talking about it. Because Tampa game, Collins got that help. Am I correct? In the Tampa game, they gave Colins some help. They didn't leave alone too often, maybe, yeah, and seeing And
that's the thing with Collins. Is Collins right now the same player he was in twenty nineteen or are on September overnight, right, right? But you know I had that discussion with Nate because Nate thought, um, his technique wasn't real good Collins and he expected more from a technique standpoint. And I'm like, well, I said, Nate, you know, we had a really good discussion. I said, he missed time in training camp. He didn't play. I don't even know if he played in a preseason game. I think maybe
one quarter at the most a half. He starts the opener and then he gets suspended. And you can do all the conditioning work you want, but you're not playing for football, right right, you know, you're not doing conditioning work against the two hundred and ninety pound defensive end and can't simulate. And he gets one practice the week before in pads, but he's playing fullback or whatever they were doing with their inverted wish bone. Uh. And and he was the backup tackle. So how many snaps in
practice does the backup tackles get? Probably a handful, just like the backup quarterback. Then the next week it's like, okay, it's you, but you only get one practice in pads. Uh and then go play and yeah, and everybody was like, well, what happened with Leil Collins? I said the same thing that would have happened the week before when you all wanted to see them out there playing right away after one practice. It's it's seven weeks and hadn't played a
game as well, And I think it did a little him. Yeah, week and then and it's a trickle down effect when when you're not protecting the pocket, now the quarterbacks got to throw on the run. And here's what I got in my mind, And you guys tell me if I'm wrong. But when when we look at, well, what happened to
the offense? Okay, mix in five drop passes. I think I'm being realistic with five um mixing the inability to pick up a fourth and one a fourth and two, a fourth and one a third and one, Well, that'll stall an offense real quick, right, And and the fact that I can see receivers running white ass open down the field and he misses him badly. What I wrote on Friday was the key to this offense was they were making plays. Everybody's making a play. It didn't make
a big play. There was no dump off past to Zeke for fifteen yards to get it first down right at the five yard line like the week before. They were they were missing those plays. Uh. I can still see Ceedee Lamb running open, right, and so Dad does not miss that, Yeah, and he missed it, does and that much. And he missed Noah Brown one time man, right, uh? And so there were plays to be made, they didn't
make them. So I understand that, you know, to the victor goes to spoils, and that gives Vic Fangio the right to talk about Yeah, no one else knew how to play him, but I didn't, you know, I stopped him. Now, we stopped ourselves, yes, yeah, And and like Dak said. His retort was, well, I hope everybody else plays us the same way. There you go, because we're gonna make those plays, right, they didn't make them. And see, that's
the thing about the defense of Denver. I didn't see a number two scoring defense, even though we our scored was horrible, you know, even though I put they basically shut them out. Well, and so the thing is we shut ourselves out, yes, I mean, is that how Denver plays? They just left the other team keep making mistakes, they keep overthrowing. That can't be the formula for a good
defense is hope they mess up offensively. It's like he came up with you know, I remember back in um when was it eighty six, when the Final four was here, when l Sue Dale Brown he had the freak defense, right, he came up with that name. Well, all he was doing was playing a matchup zone, you know, but he came up with a name. And now everybody's going, oh, he's got this defense that we don't know what to do. What you had was guys that knew how to match
up in the zone. They had the players themselves understood the zone. Match So in this one and mostly Okay, you know they got all these fancy names. A lot of times they were playing man coverage. They had safety over the top at least one, sometimes two, sometimes way deep too, and so it's easier for the Somebody said, well, the receivers weren't really open. It's like, well, you know, it's easy to cover a guy when you're not threatening them deep and you're not running the ball the way
you should. Right when you have too deep, that should be an invitation to run that ball. That means pound them up the middle of wherever you can pound them. Because they've got two safeties. You want to bring one of the safeties down, force him to bring that safety down. Now you got one high, maybe you might have to do a blitz. And now the wide receivers on the outside can work, and the cornerback's not as good. That's right. When now he's got he's got to cover inside and outside.
Now he doesn't just have to jam, he doesn't just get the opportunity to play that two press. And then they can say, okay, well we're gonna play off. Make sure no one's going past me. Right, well, now drop five passes underneath, because we love it when you play off, right, do that all the time, right, Yeah, we're not the ones that really want to go deep. We're the ones
that want to catch you underneath. I mean, you start off the game where a Polar dropped, and there's a Schultz dropped, then there's a Cooper drop you know, CD had one, uh, and it was just it was uncommon. So okay, we're gonna find out. You can write it off as I love that. I did not hear that answer. I love yeah, oh yeah yeah and McCarthy. McCarthy said, well, you know, when you win, you can beat the drum. But he goes he kind of said it wasn't his words,
but he just depolitely disagreed. Right, it's interesting based in the streets, like you're talking that trash now, yeah, I want to see you again, you know, it's interesting. The backstory on McCarthy and Fangio is over the last decade, just their head to head matchups, because of course, Fangio was in Chicago as a defensive coordinator before he got the Broncos job, so he was facing McCarthy a lot in McCarthy's last four years there. And it's Bear's packers too.
But then go before that and especially in the playoffs, and then also some in the regular season Packers forty nine ers. Fangio was with Harbaugh in San Francisco, and I mean when both those teams were really good and they matched up a lot in big games. And it was interesting because last week I went back and looked at just the history between the two coaches, and it was like Fangio had the upper hand in San Francisco, and then when McCarthy had the better team in Green Bay,
we know McCarthy had the upper hand on Fangio. It was like an even split five. But I think the dynamics of that of them just button heads against each other over the last decade. And now here's Fangio throwing a little dig in there after after Denver wins that game, and then that explains McCarthy's reaction, and then let's let's throw in it there. Also, here's another thing. They're also
Pennsylvania guys. Yeah, and also how about this an Irish Catholic against the Italian for the Irish in the Italians didn't always get a log. McCarthy's from They're not just for Pennsylvania. McCarthy's from Western PA. And uh. Fangio is from eastern PA. So anyway, it's it's neat seeing the not that now. Now again, having said all that, they may have a great relationship. I have no idea, but it just interesting that I don't believe that. Yeah, oil
and vinegar, uh huh Yeah. So anyway, all right, we continue with more mix shots. the season yet? I guess. So. Have you been in a store lately? I have? You know? I was in a home depot October twenty third, and then I wasn't surprised they had their Christmas stuff out. I actually needed some some of those little clips to put my patio lights back up. Well, now you know it's Christmas when Legacy West is lit up in the most beautiful decoration while the lights are starting to come up outside, and just to keep everything honest. Same thing in lows too,
But yeah, that's true. Yeah, sorry, I saw that. I went in there. It was like I was looking for it was like, what a man, I don't need a Christmas tree. It's not even Halloween. And in fact, there were neighborhoods in my town that had their Christmas lights up October twenty fourth, a week before Halloween. Hey, my neighborhood, they don't even take them down, you know what, You don't turn them on? When did they turn them on? Though? They actually sometimes every holiday they will turn them on,
So thank Halloween they'll turn them on. You know, we're jogging bars like May twenty thirty, what are we doing? We have we have a we have a like a wrought our fence around our landscaping where our pool is. One year and one year you knew that years froze, just like a story. Yes, and one year I took I took the colored lights and I weaved them in and out and all the way around right, And I'd love a video of this, I said to myself. I said to myself, you know what all the trouble. I
put those up. I'm not taking them down. And I left them there till they burned out. Yeah, and put them on on timer, and they came on every night. That's what we on our pathway. Every night. They came Oh, year round patio lights. What you don't have patio lights? Yeah, but not Christmas lights though. Well. They were just colored lights, right, instead of the white ones that everybody's using. Yeah, the clear ones. Yeah, but these were and whatever you change
him to clear the rest of the year. No, I just left he got them on. See, I had I had cheap plastic light clips whatever, and I had them. And so this this summer um, one of them was kind of falling apart. Okay, they've been up for like three years, the patio lights whatever, and so I went up to fix it, and the whole thing came down. Oh no, the whole stream came down. My problem is, Okay, this is when you don't have control of your scene. My problem is my wife will not allow me to
put a screw or a hook into the patio. It's where I can just hang them on a hook like everyone else does. I guess there'll be too many holes. Hold on she has she doesn't have confidence. She doesn't have confidence that I will do it right and there'll be all these holes in the wood. So when she's got a point, yeah, yeah, she's got a point very well.
So then I so we went without any patio lights for a couple of months until the Christmas lights came out, and I had to wait for the Christmas clip like to come out so I can hang them not to use those. Yeah, you know, they worked for it well until about three years. Do you put the lights on your house? We don't put out No, no, no, no, he'll kill him. So yeah, I used to when we lived in a one story house. When when I can get on a ladder and reach up there, but I
ain't getting on no roof. My my days are over on a ladder and climbing on the roof like I used to. It's like if I'm gonna kill myself, it ain't gonna be falling off, that's right. So I hire somebody to put those lads. I put them on the sidewalkway. Can't fall off a trip over I'm coming home, or run over him. You got you can't get them too close to the driveway, run right over them. Okay, football, all right, I got shot. We got a mix shot. We've got a mix shot. You know how, this is
a rant. This is you know how. We were making a big deal over the first six games about takeaways and the Cowboys had fourteen, and boy they were a plus seven and a plus ten. And well, the last two games, the Cowboys are a minus four. Interesting, no takeaways, minus four. Over the first six games, those takeaways that
they got fourteen of them turned into fifty one points. Interesting, eight point five points a takeaway in the last two games, no takeaways, no, no points offer takeaways, and now they're only a plus three. You know what, I always used to h look at our eighty one season in an even more favorable light because I recall, we had an offense that turned our picks into points that we didn't just get them to save ourselves. They're gonna go no wherever we got them. You got door set, you got Danny,
you got springs, you got hell, you got Dopree. They were turning them into points. That happened a lot. And that's why I was kind of always h concerned with with Tom Landry's you know how he just kind of blew off interceptions. He just looked at it was almost like it was annoyed him that we got him. Are you were supposed to get we're supposed to see them exactly. They never had anybody on getting before, but we have
to get so. But I was always proud of that that our offense was able to take what we gave them and they capitalized. And I know there's extenuating circumstances, but with no takeaways the last two games, they scored twenty points and I know there was a backup quarterback and sixteen barely. So I don't know if there's any correlation there, but that kind of dawned on me to day. We'll see when you look at that when you when
you count the Cooper game, I wouldn't. You can. You can put it in a category, a numbers category, but it meant much more than that. You see, yeah, we lost the takeaway, we lost the takeaway contest, but we won the game. So even though it's a pattern that you look at as you win, it's that kind of you put an asterisk on that particular game in those
stats because we overcame everything that we was. The defense played with right, so that's why just because the offense was getting shut out didn't mean the defense had to give up thirty points, right, right, So that kind of goes back to, you know, back to that eight and eight season when they didn't win games unless they scored thirty points and Minneapolis goes and scores thirty plus points. Yeah, how about that Minnesota? Yeah, away from home and beat
and beat. Uh they lost Baltimore. Oh, that's right, they but it went into overtime. Baltimore. I had to go into over Becausins was the guy that we thought we were going to see them in there. Yeah. Yeah, so okay, you had we were talking time of possession yesterday, Yes, we were, and we I give you a homework assignment and this ship did you and if you happen to complete, well,
way to go? It's a matter of fact. And to complete it, I had to go back through the media guides and look at the final results for that season to see where time of possession at all the media guys, I, you know what, It's just not found online somewhere. Do you have to get I tried. I tried googling it and it wouldn't come up. So I had to go to the library book. No, I've got a box of all the media guides. Now I've got a few. I've got a few that I'm missing, Like there's one year here,
one year there. But I think the first year I got it is nineteen eighty two. Maybe Okay, there's some older than that, but they're like seventy four or seventy two. But uh so, anyway, I went back and found that the last time the Cowboys had a less time of possession than they did in this game on Sunday, which was eighteen fifty. Where's my thing? I got it? I bet you I beat you two eight eighteen, eighteen forty eight.
The last time they had last October thirtieth, twenty eleven against the Philadelphia Eagles in a thirty four to seven loss. They had seventeen fifty one time of possession. Score that game thirty four to seven. Okay, and got beat And I was going through the lowest time of possession since nineteen eighty three. Cleveland had twelve minutes and eleven seconds versus the Steelers of nineteen ninety nine in a forty
three to nothing loss. So but from wrack Off, But I would have to ask who had the least amount of least time of possession and one, oh, well, I didn't have the ability saying that. Yeah, And the game, the game that Bill brought up, he looked it up
real quick yesterday. Maybe yeah, if you do a quick the errors that maybe after we got off, you do a very quick Google search, you will discover most time of possession possession in an NFL game was the Houston Oilers against the Dallas Cowboys in nineteen ninety one, forty eight minutes in some odd seconds, thirty four eight eighty eight thirty four forty eight minutes in thirty four seconds.
And Mickey very quickly pointed out that wasn't overtime of tame, that's right, and in that game, so it was like, well, how many you know? What was the Cowboys after four quarterbacks has bets on games, that's so after four quarters, the time of possession was Houston thirty nine seven and the Cowboys twenty fifty three. And then when it got into overtime, Houston had two possessions, the Cowboys only had one.
So the Cowboys time of possession in overtime was five oh four to Houston's nine twenty seven, and they won the game in overtime after Emmett Smith fum. Yes, I remember in Houston or in their own territory, and they had a short, fun unusual twenty six twenty three final score. I think it's what it was. And then they lost The next week. We talked about that to the Giants got clappered like twenty three to ten, maybe nine. That was the horribly officiated game. Yes, that was led Jimmy.
My daddy said this was a football and one of them, which one of the great may he's saying last night, one of the great Jimmy Jimmy Johnson post game tirades of all time. That was the worst officiated game since my daddy said, this is what you call. Did you watch last night? I did. It seemed like the Bears weren't happy. Oh you know what if if if I was Naggy, they would have had to carry me off the field before I wouldn't. I would have been on the field Arnagi. Okay, I thought you said if you
were in Naggy. No, if you're a Naggie, okay, they would have had to carry me off the field. We tick me out and find me unbelievable crazy That they called a crackback block and a guy that missed the block right low. Yeah, he went low, but he got grass. He didn't. He didn't get the guy. And he was within the tackle box, right, that's true. And and and the tawny that's tawny. You know, dude, did they give
me hip chick? Yes, he did. I saw it. Replayed the gear and and and he wasn't reading for the flag. It looked like ye hit the hip because he had the flag in his hand like he was gonna throw it. Yeah. And he said in his pool report afterwards that the guy went running towards the Pittsburgh sideline. He didn't. He was right where he was. He kind of took a couple steps, and he just stared. He didn't say anything right there. He didn't even really look at the kick.
And and you know what, he deserved that because they released him and the Bears picked him up and put him out and practice. So he's thinking, okay, you see me, I'm here, right, yeah, and I'm stealing. How do you throw that? And not only did he throw the flag, he threw it and he had his arm up in the air like he was the statue of right. He put a lot into that. He put the hip check and then he got the poles. That was the post.
It reminds me of the game I told you I got thrown out of the softball girls softball, And when the guy threw me out out, he wound up like a major league umpicking. That happened to be in my son's little league game one time too. They were cheating us so bad, so we kept running touchdowns on the right. So the guy runs boy me. I said, hey, Ralph, you can't stop us. Yeah. There, he kicked me out
of the game. I can't come to the park, like, come on, man, so and all and all the the lined up in the neutral zone and oh there was an interference call where the guy didn't do anything. If nothing happened, the offensive guy pushed him off. And not to mention the late hits on the quarterback. Oh justin fields, he's I didn't think he was gonna get up the one time and it was a late hit. And how about the one from behind, Yeah, that's the one I'm
talking about. One from behind and no flying but they barely hit rothless time that feel, Yeah, yeah, exactly, Hip you win this game. We gotta go to a break. But we have but um I think we do. We didn't at one we have it. At one point they put off the graphic. The penalties were eleven to two. Yeah, that's it. No, no games would be like that and that and that and that tawning penalty gave them a field goal. They were off the field even in open time. It did the same thing. And on the last drive,
the last drive, but he got a favorite. So you got you got kicked out of a baseball game. That was a football game, football game. Yeah, yeah, okay, Bobcats, Okay, yeah, have you ever got kicked out? It was a girl's fat, fast pitch softball. I was at this is like two thousand and nine or whatever, whenever, whenever TiO is still with the Cowboys eight, two thousand and eight, whatever it was.
I was at the charity basketball game doing a live shot for CBS eleven and one of the officials was working the game came over and she said, I remember you. You're that guy from south Lake coach youth basketball girls eight unger basketball. And she hated me for the same reason that y'all are talking about. I never got kicked out of a game. But here you recognize that my reputation of travels. Yeah yeah, it traveled by for years. It was like a decade later, it was like ten

Even he just delivers so fair. He's better than us. Wow, that's not considered work. Whenever he's like having kids sit on their labs. I don't know about. He enjoys it so much that all right, Uh, here is the I may have misspoken my question before the break, No,
the what the question I intended to ask? When was the last time the Cowboys were shut out as much as thirty to nothing in a game like they were with about six and a half minutes left in the game the other day against Denver. Of course, the Cowboys came back and scored a couple of times. In this game, particular game I'm thinking of, they also came back and scored and weren't shut out in the game, but they
were trailing. But they were being shut out by more than thirty to nothing in this game that I'm thinking of, Which is the last time that they were being shut out by that much? Philadelphia at Philadelphia the Tony Romo game. If this is the worst thing that ever happened, Okay, it's thirty four to six the early nineties. It's more recent than the early nineties. Oh okay, Now, they had a Philadelphia game when Aitman got sacked eleven times at Texas Stadium, but they only got Yeah, it was the
Bill Parcels era. Do you remember that December game of gets Washington in two thousand and five where the Cowboys couldn't tackle a soul. It was December two thousand and five. Drew Bledsoe was sacked seven times in that game, and the Cowboys were trailing Washington thirty five to nothing at the end of the third quarter. Wound up scoring a touchdown in the fourth to make the final score thirty five to set. Sixteen years ago was the last time that the Cowboys were shut out or being shut out
as much as thirty to nothing in a game. So I looked up the last time they were shut out in the first half, and it was twenty eighteen when they lost twenty three to nothing to the Colts. And speaking of the Colts, because some guy previous to that played a really good game against Peyton Manning in the Colts back in the day. Sean Lee was in the building today. Really, oh yeah, guess what he's doing. But what would you think after seven months is Sean Lee doing.
He's an analyst. He's a yeah, he's he's he's helping Will McClay in the pro scouting department. I am not surprised at all. He couldn't stay away. He said, there was only there was only so many times I could be on the beach, and so many beers. I could drink right and and so, and he's doing it from home, and daylight savings time is over now, so you don't have as much time in the day to spend at the beach. So he was here, he came, he said,
he came into for the game. Way there Bi brother in daylight savings down that kind of I don't know what that happened, because you get more down on daylight day. Yeah, but he's like he's out there at eight pm. I mean, you know, but it gets dark and like five. Yeah, he's gonna be out there by noon. Man, nobody wasted five pm beach. They're gonna go early. That's when you come in, right, It's not as many hours. But anyway he is. If you're drinking that much, you're not getting
out there three right, that's the x X right. Yeah, he is doing some advanced scouting for him and also looking at pro players for for Will, and uh, he's liking it. He loves it, he said. But and he can do it from home. He got his little iPad looking at all the different stuff. But he was in this weekend, had gone to the game, and evidently they had a couple of suites for former players. So it was like all home week again with a bunch of
the guys that were here for the game. And so, what do you think he's going to be doing three years from now? Yeah, he didn't say, but he kind of liked the scouting thing, which you can you know, from a scouting standpoint, from a fire what he's doing, do that nine to five and it's satisfying his head. Yeah, and you don't you see your play the game? Yeah? Did you? You chose that you consulted, you know, we asked him, so what did you what do you think
of the rookie Penn State? And he goes, I don't think I've ever seen a guy that big in that fast. He goes in my life? How fast with Sean Lee? He I can look it up real quick. We're out of time. Oh, I would imagine he was like a two five, two six. Maybe what I don't you think Sean Lee was that fast? Four or five? I said, linebackers twenties. Yeah, well that's what you said they should
do that. Don't get off on his way. You're saying we should do away with I think he ran like a four to six at the combine, I said, four or five four six. That's that's pretty good for a linebacker pans for someone a quick thinker. You know, he put that together, you put physical together. It was sent. Then you've got something specials. Oh yeah, he was hurt. Yeah, he probably didn't even run. Of course he was hurt four six and it's pro day. He ran up four
of course. I had that memorize four six and get this ten yards split a one five four and a three cone three cone of six eight nine. That's pretty good. And he had a vertical of thirty seven and a half. So there you go. Whoa, that's pretty good. So what website do you use for all this? Because I know you don't have it memorized. It's a secret. Is he just making this up? He's got a combined Results, Combined results combine combine as dot com. Very all right. I
think we are out of time on this edition. It's about otherwise we're gonna get We're gonna get kicked out of our own podcast. You're out of here. I see.
