The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club. Cowboys. This is nick Shot screaming live on Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the official Dallas Cowboys at now Here are Bill Jones, Everson Walls, and Nicky Spagnola Go, Dallas how Boys Go, team of the singer boll and advertising Yah avert ah, Yes here
we are. It's another victory Monday. And this is a victory Monday, unlike any other victory Monday in the history of the Dallas Cowboys years ago, years from inside the s WBC podcast studio at the Beautiful Star Infrisco, Bill Jones, Everson Walls, and Mickey Spagnola wearing is Cowboys blue with a star over his heart. Today the earth is back on its axis. That's right, baby, Everything's back to normal the way it should have been. And you know my picks to click sucks so much that things got to
score run. No, No, that was be William that got forty one seventeen. I wish I was more bold with my prediction, and then I was brave. You had Jordan Lewis, Yeah, who nobody? Yes, I had Michael Gallup and the first play, I said, I wish I had CD. Now you don't pick CD. I I think I had Zeke, but at least got it, got two touchdowns. You had Zeke and uh, your Michael Parson and Michael Parsons is pretty strong. And I had Kellen Moore as my honor. But I had
Kellen as my amba mentioned. Yeah, I had Kelly, and I had Jawn Curse and yeah, I thought Jon would be on pits, but I saw digs on pits started well, they started not covering them at all. It was like you planned all week and you did this. And I figured he had three catches for fifty two yards in the first uh, and there was five minutes to go in the quarter, and then after that he had one catch for eighty yards eight eight yards that's it. So four for sixty. I gotta say sometimes the team makes
it easier for us. I didn't think they coach well at all. Well, you know what they didn't do. You know, Vic Fangio screwed him. He didn't leave the blueprint in the visitor what it was, he didn't take it with and he didn't take it with him, and he did not take it with him and he forgot the blueprint on Sunday for the Eagles blueprint my yet, what my blueprint? My butt? Well, it was a fun Sunday, it really was.
Well it was. And when you were talking about score predictions, I was thinking they outscored mine in the first half. I swear in the second quarter. I think I had I had thirty eight twenty four, would have thirty one. You had thirty twenty seven. You had it much I had. You got him written down over there, you guys, y'all ignore my accomplishments. And I'm going to start documenting my stuff because you guys in media and you always just kind of step over me. Did you have three interceptions down?
I did not have three, but I I once again, timing is horrible. I said, you know what, I'm not gonna pick Dicks to get one this time, because every time I'm picking to get one, he doesn't get one. Did you see where the last time they had three corners interceptions in a game? No. Eighty five, eighty eight, eighty eight, eighty eight, that was a horble year. You had one? Yeah, it's probably my only one that year.
Manny Hendricks one and Robert Williams had one. God, that is that's really going down there, right, I mean, that's remembering some way. And it was against Redskins, yes, well at that time, yeah, yes, And that reminded because somebody said, well, do you remember who the guys were? So I said, well, Walls, Robert Williams, and now I was thinking think and somebody finally I think, Nick said Mannie Hendricks and and and so Dave Hellman said, so you were probably at that game,
and I'm going what game? Was it like game fifteen of the season. Yeah, No, I was not there because the Cowboys season basically was over by then. Because you went into that game, yeah, Halloween. In that game you were you were two and two and twelve, right, and the Times Harold sent me to cover Philadelphia, and it
might have been Philadelphia and the Giants. It was a big NFC East game, Yeah, to see who was going to win the division, right, And so that that had been the last game I had missed until the first game of the twenty eighteen and Michael Irvin that was his coming out game Co's when he toasted Darale Green for almost two hundred yards. Yeah, now two touchdowns, yes, And he had gone through the seasons. That was his first game back from his ankle. Had no ankle. He
had an ankle most of the year. Yeah, so yeah, it's been a while since three Corners had brought up. Of all the games that year, that was the only good game that we had. Yeah, you won, Yeah, we won. We were two and fourteen that year, No, three and thirt thirteen. Yeah, don't cheat yourself, Hey, don't that was the third don't worry. And the most important loss of that season was the last loss, right, yes, because that
got the first pick that got Troy Aikman here. The most important win of that season was a Green Bay win in the last week of the seas, right, that's right, got green got that got Troy Aikman to Dallas. That got Troyman to Dallas, and there we went. We lost, but we Green Bay one, but we won. Yes, yeah, that's right. And they end up with You're welcome Cowboys and the Packers. Packers ended up with Tony Mandrich. Oh wow. Yeah. They eventually wound up with Brett Farve, but it was
several years later. Yes. Well, And the funny thing was is the Cowboys were playing coy at that time. In eighty nine, Jimmy wasn't going to say, yeah, we're taking Akman, and and Jerry was playing along with them, and you know, and Jimmy started throwing out this bus about well yeah, this mandridch guy's pretty darn good, and we're looking at
him like, are you serious? We ate fall? So that right, yeah, right, and they signed They signed Achman before the draft even started, so you knew the Cowboys were taking Achman before draft. You know, the Falcons kind of looked like the eighty nine Cowboys yesterday. I'll tell you what my line in Mike column not eighty eight nine. That would they wish they could have left at halftime and at least by the end of the third they wish they would have left.
With about five minutes left in the second quarter, I'll tell you what, you know, they go downhill in a hurry. The line the old Eagles line in Hotel California you can check out, but you can never leave. They had checked out. Yeah. You know, when I was looking at the Falcons last week, I was sitting there going against the Saints, well not just looking at their status and their play. You know, I'm like, how is this team
four and four? I mean, if you're their numbers on defense, they're leading sack guy had two sacks and they were leased. There were several there were three that were tied with two sacks. They released one of them. I think they had two picks all season. I mean, and then you just look at their running situation, running back situations. By necessity, they were having to play Cordarrel Patterson running back and without Ridley, And I was, how in the world is
this team four and four? And I'm really wondering it now. Well, I think we had always bet they won over right, but I think we were looking at well, we knew Matt Ryan could sling the ball around, so you gotta worry about that. You gotta worry about Darrel Patterson who ends up with four rushes for twenty five yards and he had one catch for fourteen yards, so he had thirty nine yards on five touches. Who're sitting there worrying about how they go? Who's going to cover that guy? Right?
And then and then it was Ryan, and then the tight end, and then the tight end Kyle Pitts, who started off the game like okay, here we go, and he had three catches for fifty two yards, like I said, you know, with about five minutes left in the first quarter, and then he had one more catch for the rest of the game. And he doesn't play every down. I was watching, I go, well, where's number eight? And they had a true tight end in there when they wanted
to run the ball. Their game plan was horrible. It just really was. It's almost as if they let off the gas for us. They got the field goal, and you know, of course we drove down first drive, opening drive, we got the seventh, but then when they got there three after that, they just seemed to just shut it down, like, okay, we're good. We were going to outscore again fourteen three and that was it. After their first two possessions, they had ten more possessions. Six of them were three and
out and one was two and out. It was at the end of that and their play calling was extremely inconsistent. If I would have still gone on with Cordell Patterson, that's all you have. I would have tried to get the ball to him as much as possible, and he disapared with the tight end, which both of them dissappeared. I don't understand it. And then Hira Lahu he negated
his kickoff returns. Its most important role that he had was kicking it through and you know what, and that was what Mike booted that Mike McCarthy was worried about the kickoffs. He booted that he had a touchback on every one of them. I mean you could see him laying into it. He's jumping off. I mean there was no smooth get off. No, he was banging. That made all his extra points. And that's to say something, murmur,
it's a thirty three yard extra point. How many experienced kickers this year have missed at least missed one when you gotta try five? Right right? And he had what was it? It was at seven kickoffs? Yeah, seven kickoffs, all for touchdowns and only one was ugly and I think was the one to start the second What did I say touchdowns? Touch backs? Yeah, and only one was ugly and it felt like they were touchdowns. They were sailing. And don't you just love it when our coach ghost
for it on fourth down? Yes? Right, what are you doing? No? You know what? I love our goal line that gone. We had that one. No, no drama except for that one stupid play call. Kellen. Just stop trying to be cute. Man? Was that we lead one? Yeah? The dack ended up to one of out there to Zeke to just to get rid of it. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, just to get rid of it, which was a stupid That's what I said. Run the ball on the ball man. Zeke is like he's salivating in the back. So here's what happened.
So you go from going on fourth down the week before, oh for four, this time you go three for three, you know. And and when I was writing, I go, oh, what a difference a week makes? And I said, no, what a difference a half makee right and a half. They had thirty six points, thirty six to three, the biggest lead they've had at halftime since nineteen seventy one, with a seventy one. They were against the Jets thirty five. They were up thirty five. You remember that game, that's right,
he was there. It was like, yeah it was. It was fifty two. We're not even looking it up. You were good? So no, not so now I say, when we look at the Broncos game, you know, it was too bad to look at. To me, this game too good to look at. It really is? I mean, I wouldn't take it, you know, I take it with a grain of salt. But this is what this team should have done, and last week they didn't do that. But
so to me, it's status quo. So as far as I'm concerned, I'm not gonna put too much into this win because I know that this is how this is where we're supposed to be. This wipe's off last week's right aberration. How do you spell it? Bill? That's it? No, just one, that's right and everyone there's one being blueprint
that's baby. They left it in the locker room. So, like I said, you know, you can you can feel good about this game, but this is how we're supposed to win, see, And that's two out of three now, because the defense played well against Minnesota and they went ahead and played well against in this game as a
matter of fact, extremely well they did. You know, uh, you know that deep that offense wasn't all that bad and they had the you know, the potential, and they just shut him down with the interceptions, which, by the way, that's number eight and an interception it was because he came but he came off his guy to get over there. Well well he was, but he was getting as he was getting over there, he's headed towards this particular point. I don't know what Ryan was thinking. Was horrible pass.
It's like he was trying to throw it to Dicks. But even a bad pass to Dicks. I didn't know if he under threw the guy that was behind him. Yeah, he under threw. I think they are over threw one or everybody back there. But to be that quick to be able to stop, because he was going full speed for a particular point over there, Maddie throws it. He he stops and just quickly up in the air. And it wasn't he wasn't just off the ground. He was up off the ground. And to make that kitch while
doing all of that, that's tough to do. So that's and it stuck. It stuck in his hand. That's eleven career picks in his first twenty five games. So he's one of seven guys to have accomplished that. Yeah, because you had fifteen, so you were one of seven. That's another one. We're just letting the world let him know. One of seven guys to have eleven at least eleven picks in the first you have all you have them all the players I didn't see I didn't that would
have been interesting. And that dies Everson Walls especially. He got twenty interceptions in twenty games. Let's not forget that gave it his career in his career. The eighth pick, the eighth eighth picks already UH in the first nine games ties Everson Walls for most picks in the first nine games? Did they? Did you say that on the TV broadcast? Well, what's happened on the talent? Ever? Send or somebody else ever had a TV with him? Eight and eight games in UH eighty one and then seven
in nine games in eighty two? Strikes season? The count the playoff? Okay, you got a couple in in a playoff game in eight that's right. So but then don't they don't count playoff games? Yeah? I don't know, Well not for regular season they should. Baseball does. No, they don't, don't they don't. But there are more important games in regular season games. I don't understand why you don't count them. Well, that's another category, it is, But you can overall most
picks in playoffs. Yeah, so anyway, he only needs three more in seven games? Where how many were you at nine? And seven in eight games, And my son called that one. He said, yeah, you just telled because they were so incompetent. He was like, man, they're gonna chat throw the ball. So he left the room. I don't know what happened. He left the room, and sure enough when the guys
I had to yeah out to the back of the house. So, yeah, about Anthony Brown, I was just gonna say, I don't think I've ever seen an interception that the guy defends the pass, tips it up in the air, and then grabs it himself. So it's contagious. What's the stat on that, I don't know. Does he get both a pu Yeah? Yeah, and then even even Jordan Lewis's one, it was deflected and he makes them right there. Yeah yeah, yeah. All right, let's discuss more of that when we come back here
on mix shots in just a moment. Hi, I'm Clint Tillison, man, I'm Jay Novachek, and we're both with the official tractor provider of the Dallas Cowboys. Really yes, m that's nice all right, kind of like a college atmosphere? Is that think that where they have the big ball? Remember they had the big ball right there? Is that? What
it is? Downtown district district? I don't know where that is? Don't you remember they had that big eyeball there that people go and walk in front of it? Right? Oh? That might I think that might be? Well that main street, Yes, and it's a big kind of two street deal where there's a like a garden. Yes, that's it. That's it because it hang out on the lawn. There's a bunch of restaurants. Now, they had this big old high up there. Yeah, yeah, that was it. That's it. So something new. That's cool,
all right? I like that. That was cool. Don't go on that street doing the game. What a great week this is? This? I mean, you get a Cowboy forty three to three win and they're going to Kansas City to take on the Cheeks, a Cheeks team that got back on track on Sunday night, scoring over forty points themselves in the and most of it in the second half. It was a seventeen fourteen game in the third and then they took off in one forty one to fourteen
or the Raiders. So plenty to talk about this week, yes, and I'm sure at some point it'll be brought up at what sixty years ago these two teams were in Dallas, Texas? Right, that's true. The Hot Brothers, right is the Hot Brothers are just the Hunt family, the family Hunt family, he said, the Hot Brothers. They played for the Preston Road Trophy. Yeah, they did, still do, don't they They still do. Yes, absolutely.
I know about the Preston Road Trophy because the Joneses and the Hunts, I guess both lived off of Preston. And so the story was that Lamar started with Jerry, Yeah, and it was some goofy looking trophy. And the first time they Kansas City played Dallas after Jerry bought the team. Uh, they just the families just played for there was a trophy they made or something, and so Dallas one Jerry got to keep the trophy of Kansas City one. Lamar, it's a bird house. It's a bird house. I was
going to birdhouse. I was gonna say it had something to do with a bird. Yeah. Name was games and they always felt like you had to play for something. So they live pretty much a block away from each other on press and then the winner would put the trophy in the in the picture window of the front of the house so you can drive by into your QQ. That's a Lamar said, I'll put it in my windows so you can only learn that stuff on mix shot. Yeah,
that's very important information. Thank you stories on this trophy. Oh real, dude, rad it next time people. Chris Babe knows all about it, all right. So we were started talking about the defense and the secondary play and the picks, and you mentioned Jordan Lewis off the top and your MVP for this game. VP for the game. Not only did he make the pick, he also had two knock downs all three three, but two consecutives NA plays that
really helped us, you know, solidified things. He does not take any play for granted, guys, because as we've noticed here, there are games that start off as blowout we end up as blowouts that we say, just like the other game we mentioned Kansas City, it was kind of close there for a minute and then they blow out, they get forty points. Well, initially that game was a little bit tight, and there are plays and players like Jordan Lewis that can make that difference for that particular play
and keeps the momentum going. Because who's to say, just like we missed didn't go for field goals and missed fourth downs twice, it changed everything for the game at that time and for what went on for the rest of the game. So he's the same thing could happened, could have happened If Jordan Lewis doesn't make those plays, you just never know. Here's where ever, since talking about the the Falcons seven to three, made a field goal with eight twenty four left in the first quarter. The
Cowboys went three and out. The Falcons get the ball and they drive to the Cowboys thirty two yard line, second and seven, Cowboys blitz and Colston bats the ball incomplete third and seven at the thirty two, and they had Pits lined up wide by himself and Matt Ryan throws the pits and Jordan Lewis breaks up the pass, and a lot of it had to do with Parsons taking away the running back because he was looking at
the running back and then he threw. And now it's fourth and seven and they said, now we're not kicking a field goal, We're going for it. And Lewis breaks up the pass and the Cowboys get the ball and the rest of the game was history because the Cowboys came back and they faced a fourth down and they made it. It was fourth and five at the thirty three. I don't know if they didn't trust Hiraulu who is
hiu huhelujah. Yeah, that's not howluviah and and uh. They went for it on fourth and five at the thirty three and ceedee Lamb runs a deep out. Nice is that when the guy was hanging onto his twenty one yards in the first I think it was, yeah, thirty five he beat thirty five? Was that that was avery will? He wore that guy. They tried to cover him in the slot. Yeah, give me a break, don't put your three. You can say that almost every week for anyone that
tries to cover wide receivers. Yeah, and seeing that was one of the benefits of having Gallop outside. You put CD in the slot. And now he's against the third corner and the second or first, I don't know. Moral he could gallop was killing this corner back he couldn't. Yeah, he could go either. He could have gotten him deep
or short. It didn't really matter. So the Cowboys ended up going on scoring a touchdown after that fourth downade And that's the swing right there, that swing, and now it's fourteen three with thirteen twenty four left in the second way, and we could easily say, man, it's the Falcons, just like we could have said last week it's the Puncos, right.
You know, anything could have happened at that moment. If he doesn't knock that down, we don't make out a fourth down still seven three, they get the ball back, they could score, or a field goal or a touchdown. So many things could happen and gotten away from us, just the way it got away from us last And you know it don't take any play for good. And you know you talked about the Falcons, Well they're not this or that, but they were four and four and
in the playoff picture they were the seventh team. They would have been the last one and they'd eat their division leader at the time. Yeah in the Saints. So last week and they didn't lose any ground of Tampa Bay yet, No, they did not. Hey, how about that NFC East, that's crazy went three and old. Wait we're making fun of the East. Let's look at the NFC South South with the Packers, right, No, no, let's look at the Packers. Yeah, the NFC North. I'm not laying defense.
They were very fortunate to win that. It was very average as a as a as a division, they're very average. I think under the Packers wins. Three wins out there are well, they're all under fives. The rust are under five and they're talking about the But Detroit got a tie? Is that crazy? Sixteen? Sixte crazy? And the Packers they struggled, right, it's three to nothing in midway through the fourth quarter.
Now they finished at seventeen, but three nothing. I wanted to say something about yea and yeah, I am the dead horse. But in regards to Rogers leadership on this team, they've lost two games Eyton two first game of the year against the Saints. Right, Rogers never showed offseason preseason maybe that we could practice was the only time he came to Right lost and it was because of his bad play. He was throwing crap all over the place. He looked like he had that practice. It's Aaron Rodgers,
So it doesn't take long to write the ship. The next week, boom, everything's back to normal. He wins what six in a row as a starter. Yeah, and then they got beat up and because of because of his you know, COVID ignorance rights that game. Missed that game. So that's the second game they lost. They've only lost two games every team, every game he has started, they have won. So they could have actually been undefeated. If he comes in and acts like a leader, that he
should act like he was missed the eye. That's right, Yeah, missed the eye. So I mean, I'm just saying giving him credit, but also letting him letting you know, just because you have that ability as a leader to make a statement of whatever you're trying to make, that doesn't mean you have to and when it comes to this team, you have cost them two losses. As a leader of
this team, you cost them directly two losses. And now you're you're in a dog fight with everyone else, Cowboys, everybody else at the top, when you could have been sitting alone at the top. So you thought that Falcons would have liked to have left at halftime yesterday? Yes? Or maybe how about two thirds of the way through the game would they have liked to leave? Yes? I think I'd like to leave two thirds through. I gotta I gotta run Bill sneak on out of here. Man.
He's not leaving because he's losing it. Okay, we're winning rights women. He just lost something. I lost something. I have to go home and get okay to do my job. We will carry on, okay, And after this mix Shots returns in a moment without you, Honey, big news. Gary, Are you okay? Oh? I'm not Gary anymore. I'm Jackie Flash. What see? I want the latest smartphone, but the best deals are only for new customers. So to get a
new customer deal, I changed my name to Jackie Flash. Okay, but the best smartphone deals at AT and T are for everyone new and existing customers. That's huge. Then guess who's getting the deal? I had to slow that thing down, make sure I got it right, and indeed this is the season right. As we return to mix shots here on Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the sw BC podcast studio, Rogage, Everson Walls, Mickey Spagnola. Though we had to boot Bill Jones out of here before we talked about college football. Now we're gonna talk behind his back. Oh give me a break, man, I could, he'd ratter be glad he got out of here. I was so mad at but they let me down
like this every year. This this was their chance, this was it. You could have moved up. I mean, first of all, I thought they should have moved up. They be careful. They just make the Big twelve playoff game. So this week is Oklahoma State, right, Yeah? So they would they play them? They wouldn't play him twice. It's in Norman. So I'm saying, well, they could, they could. They could play him now and play him in it. They could in the championship game. Yeah, we'll see how
it all stacks out. Bill's nervous, all right. So the Cowboys moved to seven and two, have a four game lead in the NFAC East. Um the Eagles. Eagles have won four games themselves, correct, did I throw you see, you didn't throw me anything. If you do that anyway, yeah and so, um, but they got a three game swing coming up that's going to be very important, starting with starting with Kansas City the Raiders on Thanksgiving and
then at New Orleans the following thirst stretch. So this is that tough stretch of three games in twelve days that they continue to get um, you know, tagged with. And it's not just it's not just the the schedule itself. The strength of the teams, right, it's at a high level. And with two of the three games on the road. Um, so yeah, this is a tough stretch for them. But again, if you play like they did against Minnesota, if you play like they did against the Falcons, then yeah, you
can compete for this. I'm sure now after everybody was trashing them last Monday, this Monday, oh, they might be one of the best teams in the NFL. Before I started doing this podcast, I never listened to sports talk radio just because the reason number to tell you now, there are so many bandwagon guys out there. It is ridiculous. Not only bandwagon guys, you've got former players who are supposed to be objectively giving their opinion, all of their
opinions are slighted by their hate for the Dallas Cowboys. Absolutely, that is ridiculous, man, yep. I mean, let's just be real. London Fletcher, he's out there, these guys on podcasts. I just heard him as I was going to play golf today at the Cowboys place, and he mentioned all of these great teams in the NFC. He mentioned three great teams, Bucks, Packers, Rams, wasn't crazy about the Cardinals, didn't even want to say
the D words. The D word was killing him. And so finally one of the other commentaries were like, hey, London, they're not gonna say anything about the Cowboys. He's had the big wins. He's harping on Denver still and he says, well, you know, I'm a I'm I played with I played with Washington, so I can't even say that word to me. That's doing us a misjustice. Well, all these guys and
they're they're they're all like, they're all like that. You think about some of the guys that always criticized the Cowboys, their former players that wanted to be drafted by the Cowboys and got their butts beat, and then the whole their entire goal in life, for their career. Let's see how many times I can beat the Cowboys because I'm mad at them because they didn't draft me. What dang,
we can't draft to everybody. And so now you've got these guys giving you slanted information based on their own personal grudge against the Cowboys, which I think is kind of like it's a bunch of bs. So let's put this seven and two start in this perspective. It's the it's the third best start for a Mike McCarthy head coach team, only the third The Packers one year went nine and ozero and one year or they went eight and one. Which one was it? I didn't look that up.
I just saw the nine and in the eight and one. So this is seven and two is the third best start. So that tells you this is kind of special right now. Obviously, the last time the Cowboys did it was twenty sixteen when they were on their eleven game winning streak. But uh, and we'd be remiss if we didn't point out no DeMarcus Lawrence, no Randy Gregory, no Neville gallim or if that's three fourths of the starters on that defensive line and they shut this team down to three And I
don't care if it was the Detroit Lions. They shut him down to three points right here, and Um, the guy we've been waiting on to step up and do something, Dorrence Armstrong comes on strong in the game. He gets a sack and a block punt. Oh, that was the heck of a play. That might have been the best effort I've seen from anyone on this team this year,
which is saying a lot. Consider how we've seen greg we play, consider how we've seen Parsons play on defense, that might be one of the best defensive plays I've seen this year for the Cowboys. The sack or the block punt, block punt, And you know the sack came from they stood him up in the middle the way they were doing Randy Gregory and Parsons, And you know, they kind of played him that way a little bit in training camp, like he was a stand up outside
three four linebacker or whatever. Uh, And I was always like, what do they do? It's too big? But in the middle he came through there and then on the block punt. If anybody needs a film of the exact technique you're supposed to use the block a punt because he comes in one handed, made sure he didn't run into the punter, and gets the ball. And then we get a little poetic justice because Nashan Wright, who mistakenly touched the ball
last week, ends up recovering it. Yeah, very cool. And there was some stat that was the first time ever that the Cowboys had a defensive end. Uh have a sack and a block punt in the same game all kind of moves this year. Yeah, but he came in there. You know, it looked like you know, I don't know, if they looked like falcons had a chance to recover
it in the end zone, would have been safety. Yeah, But he comes sliding in there and recover it, so you know, it's almost as if it's almost if he didn't want to touch it outside yea from going to brush it and he kind of slid on end because if he catches it here, right, and the guy touches him as he's sliding, then they might put up the one yard left. And then our other worry was the offensive line. Right, did with another week of practice help
Lele Collins and uh Terrence Steele? Well, yes it did, Yeah, right, it did. Now they put the two tight ends over on either side quite a bit, but still they were you know, they were on their own, and uh, you know, they did a heck of a job. How many rushing yards did we have? They only hit? That was the no. No, that was the surprising statistic in the game, because when I went to look to see, I figured Zeke had about seventy or eighty yards. He had forty one. That's right,
Pollard had forty two. So they rushed for one hundred and fourteen yards. But it was very time. They set us up a third shorts right, well, they got the first down or they got the touchdowns goal for you know, one yard two yards. And see, let's just be real, all of this is just dress rehearsal because we're gonna need Zeke in January. Love Polot, Man, Polot is gonna be still a great change of pace for us. But we start talking about how we're gonna need Zeke in January.
I want him to continue along his pace. Take your time. Nobody's looking for fifteen hundred yard rushing season. I just want him to be ready to move the chains for us. And he almost that that that trick play man, I mean, he almost gets in and then they get a bisque holding call on Noah Brown on the beautiful play by Keller Moore. Yes, design that, Oh my goodness. And then you're thinking, going, I should have saved the comment, No, I tell you what he's saving. You know what he's saving. Right,
ceedee Lamb, right, ceede Lamb. Is gonna throw a touchdown sometime in an important game this year, the best. No one's gonna see it coming but us. That's it. But but you know that was another big play by Pollard um so Zeke almost broke one as well, running left and we cut it off into the hole. He tried to split them and he got tripped up by the last match. So a lot of young guys that got
some playing time finally came. You know that all of a sudden, Gholston's making plays and then Parsons and continue making their plays. But Armstrong played really well. And I just now I didn't see it, but I heard somebody say that. DeMarcus Lawrence tweeted out soon like and if you see him do his rehab work, I mean, he looks ready. He's right around the corner. I mean, and I'm thinking since they get three weeks to practice before they have to make a decision off ir Yeah, I'm
thinking he's about ready to start practicing now. I don't know if they do it this week or you know, then the next game is a short week, but then he could practice for however many times they practiced before the Saints game, and then you would be ready the next week, you because obviously when they bring these guys back the you know their m is. You practice one week, that's great, then the next week you practice in play. Yes,
and it's been a two week thing. So if you want to use that two week thing, you got to get him going pretty soon. And Tyrn Smith the same thing. When you see him do his rehab, he's moving really well, so he may be ready too. So well, here's one thing I enjoyed was it turned out just the way we talked about it. You loved having Parsons inside, right, I liked having him on the outside in certain situations, and that's just how they used him. And they did both.
They did both. They had him inside on run, but then when it was a clear pass, we were blowing them out and we knew they weren't going to run. The boy Parsons had one of the best sex I've seen him make all year with the quick move inside over It was a seventy six uhm McGarry out like it was a basketball. Took a jab, stuff to left and wide. It's like, oh see you dude, And that was almost it was a strip seg. But yeah, they end up covering right. But exactly so you bring them
from anywhere on the field and that's the key. And when the boys come back, then there's gonna be more packages that we can deal with. How about this for timing? So um, I must have wrote the story on Parsons for the Star Game Day magazine like over a month. Great cover by the way over, Yeah, it's on and for some reason they held it out. I don't remember why they didn't run it, but it ran Sunday right and basically my my my lead was, oh, keep an
eye out, where's Michael Parsons. Yeah, yeah, exactly that. It's like, oh, it turned out perfectly because is he going to be in the middle. Is he gonna be a strong side linebacker? Maybe defensive end? And he probably did a traditional lineback in the middle or you put him on the end. Yeah, that's and and you know, and everybody and I think, but also we got well we'll go over time, but we need to do this. Game ball goes to dan Quinn. He had that defense ready to go, right, and you know,
and and he didn't want to talk about Atlanta. You know, he didn't want to say, oh, you know, this is revenge or whatever. And and I thought, Michael Parsons, this, this kid's twenty two years old, but he's so perceptive when they asked him that, you know, was him was Quinn different? And he goes, well, you know, I haven't seen his face so red all the time during practice. But it wasn't about It wasn't about because they were
going to play Atlanta. It was because what happened against Denver, right, And he said dan Quinn was like that because not because he's not coaching Atlanta, because he's coaching the Dallas counsel Us and wanted the best for them. And he
ends up getting the game ball. And if anybody hasn't seen the little celebration from the locker room when he got it, it's on Dallas Cowboys dot Com and all the guys just went crazy, grabbing him and jumping on on hey, man, when you get lego was midseason, right, five games in. Come on, if you get a lego like that, everyone knows that you feel a little something. Yeah, it's okay for that. They know you feel it to the Falcons know that. So when they were taking that
butt whipping, they know they deserved it. It was almost like, oh, this guy knows too much of us. Okay, then it seems like they just gave up. So good, good, good on dan Quinn. Now again, as he spoke after the game, it's like, this is a stepping stone in the right direction. Now we got to keep it now. He didn't like, he didn't act like he just split the at him. Right. Yeah, It's like, okay, we gotta and now you get tested
by Kansas City. All right. We finished with Mick Shots here ever since Walls, Mickey Spagnola, Bill Jones with us for two thirds of the show and Mobee gets back in time to continue his work here and we will continue with Mick Shots tomorrow one thirty on Dallas Cowboys dot Com. Cowboys. This has been a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
