With the Advent of Jesus came freedom from the power of sin today! So might we, the true children of God, find rest in this reality as we follow Jesus in obedience.
If Jesus, The Final Adam, isn’t raised from the dead, Christmas is absolutely worthless! But He has been raised and that makes Christmas an annual battle cry of victory and foretaste of the Second Advent!
The incarnation of Jesus is more wonderful than we can imagine and far more comforting than we tend to believe.
The only place your expectations and longings are safe are when they line up with the promises of God in Jesus.
Those who are content are generous. And those who are generous are content. Just like Jesus.
We so desperately need to experience the non-anxious presence of Jesus. And by His grace, we can embody His non-anxious presence in our world of ambient anxiety.
Our Good Shepherd, who has led us where we are today, will continue to lead us into His presence forevermore. This is our hope as individuals and as a church.
Yoked up with our Unwavering Savior, might we be people who live unwavering lives of Christlikeness.
Every saint is a work in progress (and a work of promise) and that means our past and present suffering and imperfections are not reason enough to quit pressing on to know Jesus.
Bogus Religion says, “look what I can do!” But true religion says, “look what Jesus did and is doing!” Because Jesus is our only boast! Seek Him and be shaped by Him… there is no other source of satisfaction!
When friendship between saints of God is rooted in friendship with Jesus, we can experience some of the most selfless, loyal, and beautiful relationships.
Behaving like a citizen of heaven is an absolute must, but only God can make you desire and accomplish this requirement.
By God’s grace, we need to get into Jesus and get over ourselves.
For the children of God, our primary citizenship is His Kingdom!
Jesus is more than enough for your every-day and your dying day. So might we live and die for Jesus alone.
The gospel cannot be stopped by suffering or narcissism. Might we rest in this reality with love-saturated boldness for the kingdom!
Only the gospel makes us worthy. And the gospel makes us worthy yesterday, today, and forever.
Only the gospel can birth a church. And that very same gospel alone can sustain God’s people in the face of anything!
Philemon 1:8-25 is clear: love does, because Jesus did. And Jesus will! And so can we. Love.
The message of Philemon 1:1-7 is simple: the Love of Jesus changes people.
Acts 13:1-3 reminds us that true Gospel multiplication doesn’t come without a cost. But the gospel of Jesus is worthy of that cost.
In Acts 1:6-11 we see that God brings His Kingdom to bear through outward facing people whose hope of the Kingdom is rooted in nothing and nobody but the King of the Kingdom. So might the cry of our hearts and the work of our hands declare, “Thy Kingdom Come!”
This week we visited Acts 18:1-11 and talked about our desire to be marked by this reality: wherever God leads us, be all in—where we are—on mission with Jesus!
Romans 12:13-20 is a discomforting but beautiful reminder that we are welcomed into the presence of God because of Jesus, and this is both the example and empowerment of our call to welcome everyone and anyone into our presence. So might we stop building fences and start building longer tables.
In Acts 2:42-47 we're reminded that walking with Jesus cannot be disconnected from walking with one another. And a group of people devoted to both can change their world. So, might we walk with Jesus together. For all our days.
This week we go to Colossians 1:15-29 and we are called to live and die for the glory of Jesus.
In light of John 13:1-17, we desire to be a people who following the example & resting in the power of Jesus, generously, joyfully, humbly & sacrificially steward our gifts & resources for the good of one another & kingdom advance.
Esther 4:12-17 reminds us that God is worthy of our following Him wherever, whenever, & however He leads us. Every day until the last day.
This week we visit Matthew 4:18-22 and see that walking with Jesus is not a burden. It is a kind and urgent invitation into anti-burden.
