From culture wars to longing for friends and family to find Jesus, we can sometimes use the ends to justify the means. And in hopes of seeing something real, we are sometimes willing to be fake. We all work to realize our deepest desires; to see our broken systems restored, those closest to us rescued, and for the Gospel to reach the hearts of everyone, even as we continue pursuing God ourselves.

Jesus asks, ‘What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?’ We don’t need to make that trade. We must never make that trade. And while we are not God’s PR firm, honesty about our brokenness can become the beacon God uses to show a watching world that no one is too far gone.
