¶ <Untitled Chapter 1>
the lights were shut everyone was asleep and all I would do in that two raats of prayer oh Allah whatever little I'm learning make it a means of change in my life and reforming the lives of others so sometimes people say I'm 35 now I want to join this course when will I end and this is my my my biggest gripe with them the aim is not to end the aim is to end your life in it and I I also encourage to the the the students when you studying fill your intangible
reserves with the supplications of your teachers let let it be the day you leave let it be briming let it be briming tap into that you've got that inner calling run with that optimize maximize on that that will offset the deficiency in your other actions of course without being negligent in the absolute fundamentals because and I think I think one thing that really helped me again I'm saying this in the most humble way is that at early level I had good exposure to religious settings and
Gatherings what's your go-to Surah for reflection in the coming Ramadan if someone said there's only one book of T that you can read which tap book would it be if you could meet one scholar from Islamic history would it be and why welcome to Memory Lane a podcast by siblings of a series dedicated to exploring the journeys of Scholars and Seekers of knowledge with each episode we take a step back in time with our guests reflecting on their Student Life their challenges their sacrifices and
their moments of inspiration through their stories we hope to provide you with valuable lessons inspiration and motivation that will Aid you in your journey as a come with us down memory lane as we sit with our esteemed Scholars welcome to Memory Lane a podcast by siblings of where we sit with different exploring and discovering from the experiences uh various benefit and alhamdulillah to start off the the series of podcast we're very honored to have a scholar all the way from South
Africa whom on our platform we we've actually benefited from a lot alham we've shared from the Snippets of that he's given to we've added subtitles there where it's been in Arabic we've added English translations and we've shared them with and alhamdulillah it's an honor for us to have him on our platform with us to inshallah uh you know start this off firstly the honor is mine for the opportunity it's always lovely to connect in the settings of knowledge alhamdulillah alhamdulillah we have I
thought I would we would have a podcast where I can sit between the teacher and the the teacher and the student so alhamdulillah we have who is actually the student of the she um it'll be
¶ Where was the seed planted of seeking knowledge
inshallah just to start off we know that mallah you started the study of Quran and memorization of Quran at a very young age thereafter where did the inspiration the motivation where was the seed planted of seeking knowledge this thirst of knowledge where you went onto this journey um which it has been a long journey of seeking knowledge so firstly I would like to reiterate the opportunity uh to use the platform to convey a message of Dean uh I have repeatedly witnessed and observed
that sometimes in a humble informal casual setting a message was communicated and 3 years 5 years down the line someone would tell you you know what you gave this talk and now while I'm saying this I'm having a flashback of a real incident 1999 I was in California and I delivered a talk at a Masjid and uh yeah General was quoting Quran Hadith year there and time moved on six seven years later I came back there and uh there was a young Alim in that Community who was giving a talk and
he came to me and he said do you recall in 1999 in San Francisco at this Masjid at this time you delivered a talk Subhan Allah I said uh W I had no clue as you asked me this question Allah put it in my mind this you know reflection and I said yeah kind of vague reflection he said that was was the moment where I was inspired with the grace of Allah and Allah be my witness as I'm coming here a scholar Year from last messaged me he said you were my inspiration to start the Journey of knowledge and
alhamdulillah he has graduated so uh I tear I get emotional because uh again we are here in a setting to share and we ask Allah to give us humility it's always a challenge between you know a Pious person was once asked I think it was how much should I conceal of my good actions and he said as much as you can and then he said how much of my actions can I reveal and he said that much which can Inspire others to follow through said that Allah Allah for a a good
memory to continue for me in the years to come so it's always a challenge where you you don't want to pontify yourself because you are cognizant of your own weaknesses but at the same time you do realize that uh Allah has put you in a position of some degree of inspiration for others and people do look at you so with that motivation you know I I share this and hopefully inshallah it would be of benefit for the T because I think that's what we are here we sit in we all
are students at different ages and phases a a a a married child Still Remains a child to his parent but I guess the Dynamics change but it doesn't take away the fact that he's still a child to his parent right yes of course the parent will interact with him differently he will interact with the parent differently the maturity I mean I in my capacity Allah's made me a grandfather but my parents alhamdulillah you know they they still there and it's absolute and my children know how fond I
am so we we all are of at different phases and stations but I'm just thinking now you know every time I hear these positive comments and I'm just an ordinary humble person uh in this equation I mean uh Ali you must stop me please because sometimes I just run away you know uh he he speaks about that point of uh s that how when those two litigants came and they entered into the chamber and then they were quite Stern and harsh and assertive uh you know and they said says
uh that that how is it that we don't find guidance in this Nabi at his uh threshold of Tolerance patience and endurance um and then today we'll find a person that if you really want to begin to make a comparison you know what you don't equate the prosis of a fly in that com comparison you know in repeatedly in his Quran he gives an exploration and then he says in the end of his academic exploration of dissecting the text you know he give you so much and he says listen this is it so I'm just
wanted to I say that as a preamble but may Allah give me humility may Allah guide us all I credit this gratitude to Allah daily for as long as I can recall of my seven years my last practice before retiring to bed was to go perform Wu and offer two raats of Salah and at times when I would get back to the room and the boarding you know the lights were shut everyone was asleep and all I would do in that two raats of prayer oh Allah whatever little I'm learning make
it a mean of changing my life and reforming the lives of others I think I resonate with that as well if you recall I had met you on the plane just before I started my studies Subhan Allah and I and I mentioned to you that Mah and it was from a particular speech that I had remembered the face alhamdulillah I think it was a talk it was called depression versus contentment yes is that the same one I know that particular one you know has resonated with so many people that I've
uh there they selected lectures where just the the sheer benefit and output and Outreach made me realize how deep the message was to so many people Mah I think that's is that the one that you were referring to right now that you had mentioned in San Francisco no no that was a different one Al together that one if I recall was in in in Toronto in North America in Canada but that particular lecture again it it's just been you know tens of hundreds of people with the grace of
that had you know great benefit to it
¶ Moments that stood out during Alimiyyah
moving forward during your time so you did your initial studies in South Africa were there any moments from your period throughout the AL program that stand out for you that you reminisce and you know you find a sense of and or something that you you know you you hold dear to yourself which act as a life lesson as a forever that you hold you know firm with Subhan Allah that's a deep that's an amazing uh question and mallah I appreciate it so I think maybe just taking a little step
back here there was one thing that uh I'm uh you know I enjoyed a lot and I continue to enjoy and I think it's a repeated question that people has have asked me and I think everybody has amazing talent that's what I I believe you know Allah's blessed you uniquely Allah's blessed him and I think we can draw from each other we can draw and together we make a collective whole and when Allah's blessed someone with a natural ability for him to do that it's effortlessly he can execute
it you can you know what wake him up from the sleep and Mah such a melodious recitation and probably you know what if we clear our throat and we do all the necessary things to have a good recitation it's it's it's just how when Allah has given someone something and ultimately this this is what we are here we credited to the almighty so again there's a verse of the Quran where says that uh you know all honor belongs to Allah subhanahu wa taala uh so in ban it is mentioned that uh you [Music]
know so just like uh you know brightness belongs to the Sun it's it's of course it's Allah that has but then on this Earth there's so many bright places you say come sit here it's more brighter it's more lit up here it's it's it's it's it's you know there's more light in here it's the reflection that's stronger there but the light is coming from there so is belongs to Allah all all greatness belongs to Allah and whoever enjoys any degree of greatness it is a reflection of Allah's favor upon
that person the concluding verse of right Chapter
93 Allah says and there again Allah makes mention
[Music]
in that it's the sheer Grace of Allah so I think there's one thing that I would want to mention in my humble studies which still today is Allah had blessed me and I'm grateful to Allah and again I just hope I can come across in a way humble enough where I'm not you know trumpeting myself I have a passion to memorize Mah I I like in I I cannot tell you the Ecstasy I get I cannot tell you so memorizing the three parts of KAS was like like alhamdulillah that was like
like like just fun that was just fun that was sheer pleasure so I I had just done my my my primary I had not done secondary schooling nor tertiary at that stage this was late '90s uh actually late ' 80s sorry uh 89 was when I had enrolled at the Seminary uh and and the institution was just in its infancy stages so they were providing uh in the afternoon a slot if somebody wanted to do academics but it was optional and I still remember starting my the the pre- Arabic The aadia and
then going into the first year and when I started the kasas this Arabic for me was too much and irresistible not to memorize so of course it was there was no pressure there was no demand from the teacher it was and alhamdulillah that passion has just continued so to sit uh and and commit and read and rehearse and and revise and and sing along the poetry and walk along with it and you know throughout the corridors and and while I'm driving and uh you know while I'm
showering it's playing back in my alhamdulillah that's still today uh you know it's it's it's something that's just intrinsic and I think it has just given me a different passion and I feel uh when you quote the text it just enhances the authority of delivery yeah and even for the non-arab it intrigues the Curiosity so for the for the the one who appreciates the Arabic is mesmerized by the Arabic is itself because that's the beauty I always say Arabic is the only
language that will Fascinate you even when you don't understand it there's no other language that fascinates you of course Quran is Quran I mean that's that's you know irrefutable that we all know but even just pure Arabic we're not talking of we're talking of if it's spoken with that correct and and and choice and grammar and construction it's just Beauty in it like wow there there's there's Beauty in just hearing it I'm I'm curious to know what it is so it just has a dual benefit and of course
when you are memorizing the nus then the that the Baraka of that is so much because it's the word of Allah and his sah Alam taking a step back you said you before you enrolled in 1989 can you share with us any moment or possibly a pivotal Mentor that shaped your decision TOA uh pursuing traditional Islamic Sciences yeah so alhamdulillah again I think for every everybody the setting is unique in everybody's life you know like every time I meet with a revert if there's one
question I ask him or you know the individual is uh what inspired you or which aspect of Islam was the Catalyst ultimately it's Allah who guides but for someone you know what when I just looked at the Muslims and the like I know of a r brother literally he said I happen to use a l a bathroom a lav uh at a Muslim friend's house and I seen that they have a water jug in the bathroom I'm like okay this is amazing this right and then Subhan Allah where does the mind
go the prophet said he the people of Allah has praised your people Allah said this Masid is foundation is on ta listen what are what do you put and they were modest we don't and they said that we combine two forms of Purity and said you know this is what Allah has prised you of course the scholar saidar could refer on many levels so I always like to ask rever you know what was your Catalyst because often you would hear things which we take for granted so every person who studied the
dean would have a different inspiration for me I this is in my setting that I'm saying alhamdulillah I was fortunate that um my my the the nurturing and the upbringing that my parents given me uh had had shaped and and created that passion and desire in fact uh my dad often says this and I have vivid Recollections that I had asked of him that I wanted to pursue the studies much earlier uh but then he consulted with some of my teachers who were teaching me at makab level and they said let him do
some basic English right uh and you know what at that stage I was that typical juvenile delinquency as they would say so you know what what treny in school I don't Advocate that because literacy is important and and it's key it's you know to to better to enhance to to improve yourself Islam is all about getting the balance right it's all about getting the balance right the say Allah didn't tell you don't like this world Allah frowned on and not right not so to like this world is natural
it's important the Quran Praises for owning the wealth of this world right he had and this is mentioned there again in the owning of wealth up to treasures and the owning of prominence because remember is very dangerous again the saying uh Fame is not dangerous the seeking of it is dangerous right so anyway for me it was my parents and the family alhamdulillah and I I think one thing that really helped me again I'm saying this in the most humble way is that at early level I
had good exposure to religious settings and Gatherings and that was you know one of the things that I still remember as a child what my dad taken me to the Masjid and I'm seen this particular scholar quoting Quran and translating and I'm like wow but this is so amazing the ability to read and translate and it almost like planted the first seed of that passion in me you know and and again I'm going say this here and hopefully inshallah with this podcast and you know whoever is listening I
don't trivialize the benefit many of the have argued these are points of of debate and discussion that when the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam wanted to ad wi the people of mecah he came to mount Safa and mount Safa was elevated so some argue it was almost like exploiting the moment of the media of the day wow again I mean I I I know I'm cognizant of the fact people will have a c of view and that's fine I mean let's see it is about so is about you know
the only time you're going to have unity in a group is when they are free of intelligence devoid of wisdom that's the time then they're going to like oh yeah because you know what fools seld them differ so I do know academically some might have a different view but this has been an opinion as well that he sallallahu alaihi wasallam came onto Mount Safa and then he said if I were to tell you to elevate to amplify his voice so I believe that you know what whoever
however somebody could be reclining somebody could be just stumbling somebody could be just browsing and they might just tumble over this year and okay let's just get into this year and it might just you know what take that for some it might plant the seed for others it might nurture the seed and for those that might be listening out there who might not be as young as others are right of Muslim all the group of Youth and says right the person who reaches the threshold of physical puberty and
doesn't exceed the age of 30 so sometimes people say I'm 35 now I want to join the scores when will I end and this is my my my biggest grip with them the aim is not to end the aim is to end your life in it oh Subhan Allah Subhan Allah the aim is not to end the aim is to end your life in it so if I'm 35 and I start now by we not out for a degree we're not out for a diploma we're not out for a shahada dive into it everybody is swimming in something don't you see The Poets they
are moving around in their own poetry don't you see the guy who's got the earphones and he's listening to some rave music and everything he doesn't know he's at a traffic light he doesn't know he's at an airport he doesn't know he's climbing on he doesn't know that you know what this is a coach getting he's so consumed people are consumed a Believer is consumed in the n in the dean so the aim is not to end the aim is to end your life in it Subhan Allah no absolutely um moving on so during the
program I think one of amongst the many challenges that face one of the most difficult challenging periods are towards the end because you're in your early 20s usually and uh you have different pressures from parents from society from maybe even your teachers giving you recommendations of things that you should do um how did you navigate that period as to what you wanted to do after program and what would your be for that's in Mish and he needs to Now navigate onto
what next now after Alia so the first thing I used to say to my students in the 20 years that Allah allowed me to teach at my alma mat no miracles happen in your final year when I'm in my final year oh I will be articulate I'll be confident I will be flowing with Arabic I will be an orator I will be a master I will be confident no no it's got to happen from now the the the the stages the phases the development has to happen so often there is the perception and the
notion that by the time I get there you know what I would be much more anchored and established I also say to the T as well as much as you explore opportunities in which you potentially want to serve the dean you also need to realize that you know what Allah has absolute control over this it's not it's not your prerogative or your choice where you will slot yourself in it's where Allah will allow you to be accepted oh Muhammad sallahu alaihi wasallam if we so wish chapter 17 Sur
bani is we can seize the Revelation sent to you so uh I I I I think that uh you know those that are there generally speaking you would find everybody has a different passion and I say this on a more broader context so this is the kindness of Allah that uh Dean has so many branches so even if we have to kind of move out of the focus of momentarily uh and uh we all have to adhere to the basic tenants and comply with the absolute mandatory but in addition to that someone's got a passion
of being a great neighbor right then you got somebody else who's just generous he's selfless then you got somebody else you know what who can mobilize uh family reunions uh and then you you've got somebody else that you know what he's just got a passion to visit the old and help the people and the needy and the vulnerable and then you've got someone who can just smile he's just smile he's bubbly he's cheerful he's got energy he's got Charisma and I say to each one Allah's given you a unique
ability tap into that you've got that inner calling run with that optimize maximize on that that will offset the deficiency in your other actions of course without being negligent in the absolute fundamentals because as the famous you got to comply with the basics so I think um you know every student would see a a calling himself some might have now there's one thing I like to encourage you know and has mentioned this as well that after you graduate ideally teach for one
decade for 10 years at least and that's again if someone who studied well you know you guys would understand what I'm saying here you know this this is a simple analogy I I would say you could be driving and commuting on a road back and forth but as a passenger you would learn the road how to drive it yourself but not necessarily how to give directions to others so you could be doing this back and forth for 15 years and you could jump in the car but the day somebody tells you uh give me
directions now is that the M2 or is that the M1 uh is that the split at the at the garage or is no wait hang on you know what I don't know all that because I wasn't learning with the eye of teaching so I was only learning with the and and if the students can sit and learn not only to the extent of but to the extent of ifam to transmit onto others then you would exert yourself deeper and uh your connection would be greater the sad reality is averagely unfortunately uh the the the group that
is focusing and optim in right it's it's becoming very very small in their numbers uh in terms of actively passionately giving and appreciating and immersing themselves into it but nonetheless uh We've repeatedly seen there's one of my good students uh in the sense who had a Fallout then he came back and today the amount of work he's doing in rescuing the youth from drugs is like like mindboggling and and I was one of the teachers who stuck my neck out to say
let's give him a chance and let him come back in you know sometimes you feel no no and then within the teacher and the staff no no I think his days are numbered and we shouldn't and and I I said no you know what I feel let's just give him and today he's he's a sense of honor to one and all so when you're in your fifth year number one I I also encourage to the the the students when you studying fill your intangible Reserves with the supplications of your teachers Subhan let let it be the day
you leave let it be briming let it be brimming those reserves which Allah knows and you know on this moment on that moment on this occasion because every Dua from there will materialize and shape some different chapter of your life um so sh moving forward uh thereafter so another challenge that um I guess in the modern world the face especially here in the UK and in the West is balancing between uh serving doing and then having being in a circumstance where needing to either work a full-time
role Etc unfortunately sometimes um they they feel as though you know I'm not giving back as as much as I should um and obviously opportunities differ like you said and you know the outcomes differ as well what would be your message to an individual in that kind of situation where he's been put after his program in a circumstance where he's just not able to give full time to either let's say teaching or you know doing a specific uh you know service yes that's a very very valid question and uh
that's a question on the ground which is happening real and often it's the the dynamic between trying to um you know secure a more healthy income to supplement his meager income from whatever source is there and he's trying to develop and shape his life with the common interest that any other new family would be having and remain committed so uh I think the key thing is this is in my humble way I'm not sure again the merits of each case would differ again might use this analogy you
know that sometimes people would phone and U they would say I'm having problems my marriage give me advice I would say it's almost like phoning a doctor and say I got pain you know what they want to know was it th related was it a sharp pain on a scale of 1 to 10 is it intense is it severe let's do some Bloods let's do some x-rays let's do some this here we need more context of course each one's context would be unique but I think it's very key that from the time you graduate
with immediate effect there shouldn't be a gap or a window period because as soon as that happens you allow for for for for time to pass and just just like for example you know with Ramadan around the corner if if a person who's reading each year and one year he gives himself a buy and a gap the next year to stand on that musah is so much more daunting and by the third year it's over so immediately you need to get into it a person came to and he said that I want to teach but
I want to teach Liah I don't want to take any remuneration and he said no you should take remuneration and he said no I don't want to he said I insist you take because if you don't take you won't be punctual Subhan and we need punctuality so then take it and you can discharge of it or you can donate it or whatever it is so at some level two things I would say two things at some level you must start immediately and you must continue without breaking so however your office
hours or your working hours or your adem whether you serving after F or after but there must be some teaching and coupled with that I I I I try and I advocate is that in addition to your official capacity of serving where you might be a paid employee serve some aspect of Dean without any monetary remuneration everyone as a scholar as an Alim as a graduate of a traditional Seminary or any Islamic Institute in addition to your role and that and that doesn't compromise on your I mean again
we could use an academic explanation when came to the three and then he assisted the daughters of and he said and again the scholars say he he was so desperate for any good that he didn't say right adoption expressing the past tense and then of course when the daughter of sh Alam came to say my dad is calling you to reward you he didn't say no no no I I don't want any sense of any reward I did it you know for Allah I don't want anything so that's what the mention the acceptance of some
compensation when the action was not motivated by the compensation is not contrary to the station of sincerity so key thing I would say to be more accurate and spec specific will you immediately there shouldn't be this Gap and time and relaxing and finding my feet like I often say to youth that are going into study my dad wants me to become a doctor I don't want to become a doctor I said that's fine because often the father would say sit down and talk to him I said you know clearly that you
don't want to do what your father says that's fine but do you know what you want to do because this is the other problem he knows what he doesn't want to do but he doesn't know what he supposed to do and I believe you shouldn't be having this you graduate immediately you should don't give your there isn't break there isn't Gap there isn't Gap you you need to start and you got to sustain that so whatever the pressures are going to come in your work in your study whether you
teaching two people hes or some you know adult lessons something needs to continue and and and and and inshallah hopefully you know once you can balance that a bit more and get this uh in correct equilibrium in our de we have to have the hope and fear in balance and the say it's you know Subhan Allah um inshallah we'll move towards our concluding uh segment um just before we do move on I one thing I'd like to ask is what would you advice me for to become readers M
you're so well read alhamdulillah and that reflects in you know your in in like just this session um you know Subhan Allah what would your advice be for who maybe lack that motivation to read um to just be able to pick up a book and go through it and you know just so so so I think there two things here again we'd address we all know that was our first revelation and we also know that uh the captives of bad when they were captured then the family had to send Ransom and those who couldn't
Ransom themselves they had to teach 10 children and that's how they would rans and by doing that the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam set the foundation of literacy right that whoever you know and that was the time when when when had sent that pendant for which was gifted to her by and became very emotional and the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam said if you allow me then I would love to return this pendant to my daughter Zab who had sent this as Ransom but
those who couldn't Ransom the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam said teach I think what's the challenge today and that's the distinction we need to make is knowledge versus information and in information it's the chill out read it's the Casual read it's uh just the relaxing read but I often say even in today's time if it's possible and you at home you know what use a hard copy sit down with the mus itself sit down with the actual text perform woo the connection the Rapport the feeling is
still different of course you have the backup you have the app you have you'll have you know all this and that online but you would realize that is quick for an easy answer but in terms of capturing it absorbing it processing it uh you know if you read write capture record it's a different thing um it's it's just a matter of of of of of getting that you know they say to to just to to tantalize your taste buds once you T ized by that reading and you look at the works that
are in it I I mean I i' I've quoted this and maybe I can mention it because it's on uh recently there was a f that I was reading and researching and then in this came and I'm like oh my word Subhan Allah look at this right and maybe we could the the can you know conclude because I believe time is against us for so he writes and really when you apply your mind and you study the and you read you would find that the Quran and Sunnah are so relevant and appable there isn't an
emotion in my life where I don't find an a to give me a precise Direction there isn't an emotion in my life and I'm telling you even in fatwa if you really look deeply and correctly you would find there is a basis in Quran today it's very n and it's just capture and and and and you know um record and transmit and and and you know cut and paast so anyway let me just give a a basic this you know what they say when you read it allows you to travel even when you're
stationary when you read it allows you to travel even when you're stationary you could be in one place but when you're reading you're traveling you you you're traveling that that's that's it and and and the say what is the proof why do we capture why do we capture the the the the biographies of our PI predecessors again we find a cue in the Quran that in the concluding verses of chapter 11 surah h Allah subhanahu wa tala says right so uh this has become it it motivates
you and that's the basis of capturing to read and I think by us sharing this like I used to ask one of my teachers all the time share to me your experiences and the reason why the more remote it becomes the more your mind shuts off from the possibility of ining like as soon as it becomes like a double or a third generation oh that was my great-grandfather or those times were different but when when it's someone so close to you close up to you who you see and if he could do this year right um I
mean would know one of our respected honorable teachers who you know I'm very fond of is uh CH Subhan Allah I have asked him this multiple times in addition to the fact that he excelled and he took first position he's assured me repeatedly from day one till the day he graduated he never captured or wrote or recorded one letter from the teacher and he would just sit and can you imagine the memory Subhan Allah and and and and he would digest comprehend absorb and Subhan Allah he exhaled right
across and I asked him this few times and he would have not recorded now why I say this today you would find the students are writing before you start the D you know like it's a display of super passion supposedly but when it comes to uh you know we say there was and then it's type of things yeah you know so unfortunately today the the the sense of preservation is gone uh so I think we we we we need to encourage if if I were to encourage one thing you know to wrap up this whole thing I would be
impressing I I I I I I would sit and and and create and and have an atmosphere and a buzz to say listen here every day we're doing Hadith you have to memorize this here look look look at look at look at this memorize this I mean the famous Hadith where the Prophet sallallahu alaih wasallam was asked the question right and then he said was asked he said and then uh said I was blessed with such proximity which I didn't enjoy previously and Subhan Allah now the of will teach us
here because Allah is free from so they will say that is those that are by your lord in station not in location now just look at the words
[Music]
this is the depth inran in in chapter 23 just the other day I was doing the and reading it this is the thing that what what what concerns me is our T don't have this passion like like like if if you and I in in the eight years of study it hasn't ignited a flame in us then what have we been doing what have we been doing this thing is like wow look at this choice of words and expressions it's so profound and so much has been uh encapsulated here and at what deep level
they dissect and they go into it you know so right that when you bought the ark then say all praise belongs to Allah who saved us so it's mentioned there in B Quran that Allah saved us from the and the the actions of the nation and the outcome of the nation like you know the choice it's it's so beautiful I'll give you another quick reflection and I know time is against us here is I think we need to feel it appreciate it because remember nobody can answer your emotion
or or or satisfy your restlessness like a verse of the Quran like if you're going through an emotion somebody can give you encouraging words you'll be strong you'll be fine you'll get over it and then you just read what that does to your heart oh my word nothing can do it you just nobody can do but hang on Allah okay that that's like sometimes you say oh this guy is useless or this guy is you know what lazy or this guy is not productive and the Quran
[Music]
says oh my can you say more in less words you can't can you say more in wherever you direct him you know what it's disappointment he's not going to produce anything good so I think we need to dive into it and uh if you're at the early level I would encourage you focus on on your Arabic grammar on your Elementary on your rudimentary because at the latest stage uh you know what the dessert is to be enjoyed after the main cause uh but if you're not enjoying the main cause it's
going to compromise is your pet to appreciate the decadent dessert as well but but it's the the sweet thing that you know just just just flushes the food down and of course when it comes to Quran everything is wholesome and amazing the the the is just because the Quran is so yeah those are the few words alhamd we had some quick fire on questions ask quickly within two minutes can try and complete what's your go-to Surah for reflection Allah I think the amazing quick one word is Surah
YF the one thing is in the coming Ramadan if someone said there's only one book of T that you can read which tap book would it be me or someone else no yourself Quan I often say may Allah save me from ever being in a cell or in solitary confinement or being some Lonely Island or anything but if I'm left anywhere and I have one book it's B Quran if you could meet one scholar from Islamic history who would it be and why oh I guess it's it's it's a it's a question it's a challenge recent pass
distant pass um I think let's do both let's do both let's do both so one from the distant and one from the recent um I I again it's it's it's it's who you read that that shapes you so so you know when I read and I I can't claim that I read it a lot but when I just read it for example look at this now just yeah it's like when when when you see how these people's minds work you realize that they were in constant ilham position you know and and sometimes your mind just screams out to say like Ya
Allah this is the Beauty and the richness of our for example again because it could share as an inspiration for so many is that the famous incident of the man who killed 99 and he had in we call it the killing addiction right let's call it the killing addiction and then unfortunately he killed the 100 and made it to century and then Allah forgave him and then raises the question like these things don't even cross our mind uh that that how is it that his Toba was
accepted when his victims were dead and this is was a was a violation against humans and you need their pardon before anyone else and then he he he he then writes theni that so if I had to move meet someone in the distant past it would have definitely be and uh in the recent past if it was someone it would you're really into your poetry one book poetry that you would keep like really dear to you so it's two actually oh it's the of and the of IM like sometimes when you see this portrait of IM
