Transcript

Welcome to Maple to Maple, uniting players around the world, a 30 minute exploration of TJ and Gareth 4 game experiences from across both sides of the Atlantic. Each episode they share their thoughts and opinions on the world of four games, including their favorite themes, games, hot topics, and much, much more. Hey and welcome to episode 91. Did I go to? Was that too loud? That's booming, but that's good. Was it the LPJ booming? PJ's back? We want that back.

It's good you do? Yeah, it's good balance. Welcome back, PJ. Hey, I guess. I guess so. How has Jane come in a day? The worst intro ever. So before we begin, the lesson learned do not go to a convention for one. In a day, don't. Do it. Don't do it. It's not good for your mental health, your ankles, your knees. It's so maybe a. Good fuel wallet or did you squeeze it all in in a day? We did well. We did well. It was intense. I'm reading my notes. That's why I'm looking down. Sorry.

It wasn't, it was intense. It was, you know, one of the words. I had a lot of people reach out to me and go, hey, how was your one day at Gen. Con just before recording this podcast? And I was like, it was intense. It was successful. I'm not sure what are the criteria that defines a successful kind. You had a good time. I did. I did. You know, I think The thing is that.

So Katie and I went, we did the one day and there were three games we wanted that we wanted to purchase the rest of them. It was like, if we get it, great. If we don't, that's fine. The most important thing was I had business cards made-up for the podcast. I wanted to just talk to the publishers and let them know that we're here, right? No agenda other than we need more followers, we need more listeners, We need to share the love and the passion. We're trying to unite the world,

right? We're trying to unite and then so I think that's why we were so successful. But you and I are did. You get did you get 3? Did you get the three games? We did not. We did not did. You get any of the three games. Yes, we got next station, Paris. Nice. So we now have the trilogy. We're excited about that. We also got the Champions expansion to Valiant Wars. Valiant Wars was a deck builder, push your luck deck builder that we got at Origins. I remember talking about it,

yeah. And so we went and we got the expansion and they were helpful. Made some really great contacts there as well. What didn't you get? Charcuterie? Oh. Yeah, I remember you saying it last week. Yeah. Charcuterie it it. It's heart wrenching because I met one of the designers back at Geek Way and I'm like, oh, I want to play your game. Next time. Yep. Well, so lesson #1 or or point #1 why you should never do a convention in one day? Maybe not on a Sunday, yeah.

Things sell out. So, yeah, and, and what time did you get there on a Sunday? Did you go Saturday and then you were there for the morning or no? So Katie's sister lives like an hour away. OK, so we spent three days down there and visit with the family. Our nephew is about to turn 4:00. So we we played with him, went to the children's museum. Apparently he climbed Mount Gumbo because he calls me Uncle Gumbo and I'll just sit forward. I sit down. On the couch and he. Climbs my back.

Like a mountain PJ from now known as Mount Gumbo. Mount Gumbo, Yes. So yeah, it was fun. We had a good time. We watched a lot of Paw Patrol. We watched a lot of Bluey. Games. No games. No, not at all. When you. Have a four year old? When you have a four year old run around. 4/4 Keras 4 we go into games, I can't believe what but I have to go and see. But so you you went to Gencom on the Sunday morning, What time do you get there? We got there at 7:30 in the morning. Wow.

OK, early riser straight. We parked our car at our hotel because we stayed there like the Sunday night, and then we walked into the Convention Center and went upstairs overlooking the entrance to the vendor hall where CGE has like a demo room. And we waited out there. We figured we'd go into the CGE room first to look around, let the crowd go into the vendor hall, and then we don't have to fight the crowd. What time is it open? If you got there at 7:30, what

time does it open? So the vendor hall opened at 10, OK. The CGE room opened at 9:00. OK. So here now, here's what you do if if you're not going to listen to PJ and Gareth and you're going to go to a convention for one day, this is what you do. You get a chat group on Instagram or Facebook or TikTok, whatever your platform is, and you let everyone know where you're going to be. Plan. And make them come to you plan. And. Now I've told my secret and I'm going to get in trouble.

So almost everybody joined us at the bench right outside the CGE room, so I got to see most everyone. It was great because I get to visit. That's quite cool when you go and you go out of the. Way and then you're free to do what you need to do, you know, and these are all content creators who are super active and they make me feel lazy because they've got meetings. You only had a day. You only had a day. I know, but I'm like, I don't have meetings.

I have never scheduled a meeting as part of Maple to Maple or is the Cajun gamer. I'm just like, hey man, can I get you know? Meetings. Yeah, no, I those of you who are listening, you know who you are that I'm talking about. Looks like I love you all and I think y'all are just. Y'all are killing it. Y'all are but did. You go as you didn't. You didn't go as press. You went as so as PJ. Gen. Con is very, very restrictive in issuing press passes. Very restrictive.

You have to be like a major press outlet. And other people you're chatting to content great is and press or just press. Well, they were all content creators that they had to buy their own badges. Yeah, they didn't have, they didn't have press passes. It's very different from UKGE. Because U kg you get you get loads of invites for meetings and then it's up to you. Whether so you do or don't depends on your schedule. Origins is better, yeah. The the press pass is a little

bit more lenient. So like next year I'm going to get a press pass for Origins and they help you set up schedule. Meetings, yes. And then you schedule meetings at Origins and then you while you're there, you schedule meetings for Gen. Con because you have games that are releasing out of Origins. It's quite. Nice in terms of distance in it so. You haven't got right. And then there's games that are going to be released at Gen. Con.

They can't show you. So they're like, let's schedule a meeting at Gen. Con. Yeah, at Gen. Con. So yeah. So what games did you see? What comes the people a minute? What did you see you haven't seen before? So this is this is the part in the description when you go to Spotify to look at this episode and there's like 1000 games on the list that PJ is going to mention. So I'm just going to we're not going to talk about them because we haven't really played a lot of them. We just kind of.

This is what? We this is this is what we brought home. We brought home War Machine that I cannot wait to sink my teeth into. That looks really interesting. That's an Essen release. Oh, nice. Yeah. And then Peer Peer 18. This was a little. It's a little card game, pretty small. We got it from Alley Cat. I think Alley Cat gave that to us. It was one. They were, Yeah. If you bought a game from Alley Cat, then they threw this, they had like a wheel. You'd spin the wheel and whatever.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And so we and so we, they, I guess they had a lot of copies of Pier 18. So that brings me to Eternal Palace. We bought, we bought that from Alley Cat. We also got to see Ada's Dream. I was really curious about seeing it because a lot of the content creators have been posting. They had preview copies and I was like, I want to see it and see what it's all about. Yeah, I am sold. It's currently on late pledge right now. If you have not backed it, Ada's

Dream, that was beautiful. It's alley Cat games isn't. It it is. It is Shadow House. Shadow House Masquerade I think it's called. We also got Cascadia rolling rivers. Oh yeah, part of part of their rolling, their rolling rights for Cascadia, you can combine them. We decided to just get rivers. They did have the rolling hills. I didn't, but they they're the exact same game. It's just a different kind of like a habitat. And I was like, yeah, we'll just get one.

I will say, and I'm really excited to sink my teeth into Salton Sea. Oh, it's good. Really good. I know I watched you, you get. Your thoughts on that one? Yeah, we may even do an. We may even do an episode about that one. Yeah, it's, it's really good. I'm just looking at War Machine. If it's if it's Manhattan Project, War Machine, yes, that looks good. That does look really good. Yeah, so I got I got a copy of that and it looks really cool.

We'll see what happens. Speaking of devoting episodes, besides Salton Sea, we picked up Middle Ages. Yeah, I've sort of that again this weekend. You, you've been playing that like crazy. You've talked about it a lot. It was a big hit at UKGE. Katie and I were like we want it, we're pre ordering it because I don't want to run out. We can't wait to get into that. Still not still. Not released over here. Still crazy. No, really, it was it was a like

a bookshop. Waterstones Bookshop, exclusive at the Games Expo. It's still not available. I think. I think just check my stats, I think it might have just got to number one game of the year, year so far, games we've played nearly. I think it'll get there though. I'm glad. I'm glad you played it. So it's a Studio H. Hash at games. Hash at games, yeah. So yeah, I'm wondering if it was a Gen. Con release. Yeah, it must have been. Maybe it must be being really soon.

I mean, it's still gonna open shops. It's crazy. Can't wait to hit that. In fact, for those of you who are listening, you should go back and check out Mrs. Cajun Gamer. She posted on Instagram this afternoon. So while we were driving home, because it's a three hour drive, so Katie, one of our favorite things to do is to punch the cardboard. In the car, Oh my God, that's got risk to it. Oh no, she is like super methodical. The lid goes here.

Like she's got it all. She's got a whole system. Every year after Gen. Con, she punches all the cardboard and I just drive and and she always posts like a series of pictures as inner progress. So that's a lot of fun. But I feel like Middle Ages is going to be a game we're going to talk about. We picked up fiction by all Play games. That's a that's a cool game. That is that. We got plant Topia by our friends at Barrel Aged Games Gardlings. Like that one?

Yep, it's a it's an Essen release as well. Nice. Yeah, I guess you're that close though, aren't you? Because only what, month and a half away? Yeah, Pat, Pat Squara. I hope I don't. Butcher, I think you've butchered it. Ready. Pat Squarra. Pat Squarra, I've seen that somewhere. Someone's been talking about that. Detestable games. Yeah, someone's been talking about that. I've seen that on the social somewhere. You are building your altar in honour of the Day of the Dead in

Mexico, so that's. Cute artwork. Yeah, it's very cute. And then finally I saved the best for last because I know you're going to ask me, so I'm going to jump the gun. What was my favorite? I got a copy of Star Trek Star Realms. By our heaven. By our friends Wise Wizard Games. And is that out out or is that was it limited release? It's it's limited release. These are these were advanced copies from Gen. Con. Yeah. It's going to be released in October of 2024.

So Wise Wizard Games, as you know, they created Star Realms, published Star Realms, they worked with UVS Games who has the Star Trek IP and they partnered together to basically, I mean, it is a reskin of Star Realms. I don't like reskins, you know. That it's Is it different at all or is it literally? You know, I'll let you know when I open it you. Haven't even opened it yet.

You. Know this is the one that Katie let me open she opened all the other ones really excited to get this to the table and play that Star Trek Star realms look for it coming in October wise wizard games UVS games. I think we're finally going to have a hit Star Trek game. There's so many Star Trek games that are just they flop and they don't do well. Oh, Speaking of, we got to see a demo of Star Trek Captain's Chair. This is this game's unique. I feel like it's doing too much,

but I need to see more. So the idea is that you play the role of a captain. Yeah. And it's not just Federation you could play. You could play a Klingon captain, a Vulcan, A Romulan and Dorian and and specific individuals from the shows and then you're captaining your ship in kind of this combat sequence. My fear, it's all cards. Is it the the text on the cards? There's a lot of reading. That's always a challenge in Star Trek is that the cards are trying to do too much.

So we'll see. We'll see. That's not coming out till later so. Was it a solo game? No, no, it's a 224. OK, two to. Four, two to four player, yeah. So, but that's, that's the, that's, that's all the games we brought. That's a good point. Yeah. For one for a day. Imagine going for three days. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. OK, did. You I would have had a copy of Charcuterie if I. Was that the only game? Was.

That the only game that you, it was any games you saw that one in your list of three, that you were like, damn, like if I'd have been here on Sunday or Friday, not Sunday because you were there on Sunday, on Friday, that you would have gone in the bag. You know, the problem is I saw a lot of sold out and it I didn't even think about like I. Was like, Oh well. There were some games that we looked at that we debated, but we chose not to because it was

only one day. Power Up looks really cool. What else did we see? Oh, From the Moon by Hashet. I saw that at UKG. Oh my, it looked good. It's a little cars, isn't it? And people sit in the cars or rockets, I can't remember now. They're they're like lunar lunar. Modules. That's it. Lunar modules.

Oh my gosh, looks great. And then we, so while we were at the CGE room at the beginning of the day, so they were doing a, they were doing a deal where if you bought, and I must say, because we did a whole episode on this, if we, if you buy Kootenahora and the metal coins they'll throw in, they'll throw in a free enamel lapel pin. And this pin looks like a. Half envy There's no deal like that. The Games Expo And did you But did you get a purple T-shirt? No, I did not get a purple T-shirt.

That I would have been really annoyed about. I'll talk. I'll tell you something else about CG that I'm a little disappointed by. You know who was there? Who was there? Pavelina. Did you? I didn't get to see her. You should have said that. I've heard you give away your purple T-shirts. If I'd have known that, if I'd have known she was there, I. Saw, Yeah. But so we went up to the table and we're like, hey guys, we already have Kootenahora.

We already bought the coins. We're like, we did an entire episode of our podcast on Kuna Hora. Can we get the pin for free? So they gave us the pin for free. So. It's a nice pin. Which they were giving it out to people, but you had to buy the game. We already own the game. That's nice. Yeah. So there's lots of deals like that at Gencon. Buy this, get a little something. For I mean, they may have had that the games Expo, but I didn't even ask, damn it, right?

What about but people? You said you, you said you, you had a gang. We did. We did. Who did you see? Everyone is these are all content creators and from Instagram that we have previous relationships with that we've hung out with and so yeah, here we go as you scribble really loudly send. Me the list. It's safely writing it down. I really got pen. I will, don't worry. Anyone John at Driving Games read out everyone who follows an account now, which I've just

really forgotten. On his live last week there were 71 accounts he was going to read out but he got to about 30 and stopped. But. OK, my list is not that long. OK, go. I think the longer list is a list of people I didn't see. So we saw at Running Board Gamer at nine to six games at Obsessed with Board Games at Wanderer Maple. Nice. At the Treasure Bell we got to have dinner with her one-on-one, which was nice.

At the Masked Maple, Yep Yep. And then really excited to meet at K&B Play Games. It was Kelly and Brandon's very first Gen. Con. So thank you guys for taking the time to come and say hi. Also, I'm really happy to and excited to announce that I finally got to meet at Board Game Diaries. They came all the way over from Europe. Like, yeah, like, wow. And then, of course, at Family Board Gaming, our really good friend at Tabletop Worldwide, I got to bump into him at Welcome to Boredom.

I love that moment. I'm walking down the hallway and I hear someone yell my name and I look over and it's Drew at Welcome to Boredom. It's just, it's like, OK, you know, you've made it when someone as famous as Drew is like, knows you by name and calling you out. And then finally, Sam from Outrun the bear, we stopped by and saw him and talked about his new game, Button Kingdoms. Button Kingdoms, a game of fluff and corruption. It's coming, coming soon. So you guys need to pay

attention to that. That's going to be fun. And then then the best ever was at Fritz Paul. I saw Fritz guys prestige funded that funded. There is a game out there coming soon that I've written event cards for and that is awesome. Funded. I'm glad it funded. No, we were, we were sweating it at first, but. Yeah. I went up, we went up to the table, saw Fritz and he's like, you want to see an overview of the game? I'm like, yeah, man, show it to me.

And he's like, you know, he's telling me what's going. And then this happens and this happens and this will trigger draw an event card. He goes, why don't you go ahead and draw that event card? I'm like, OK, cool. And I and it's, it's one of my cards that I wrote. He's like, I was like, did you set that up? You didn't know I was coming. He goes, I knew you were coming today. So anyone who saw prestige, that was the top card that everyone drew in his little demo.

And I'm like, he's like, you can have that. By the way, I was like, cool, so we've got a. Few signed it and get back to him and said so you can keep it signed. I thought about it, but you know, well, you know, I did get a really cool, I guess it's a first player token for your one of your favorite games. Let's go to Japan. Oh, that is nice. Yeah, it's like a little wooden, we call it. No, it's the. It's the arch which my brain. It's the red. Welcome back to A Minute.

Arch. Thingy, everyone, you know what it is that's. Lovely. That is, that is. Why wasn't that a Kickstarter? I mean, the Super bling version. Oh. Come on. I've got an incomplete version, but that is nice. So OK, so you've got a lot of games, you've got a lot of people in. Did you see any other promos? Any other things you picked up? We did. So we picked up a couple of promos for Rolling Heights by AEG.

They had two Kickstarter promo packs if you had backed Rolling Heights, which of course we didn't. We were late to those show, so we picked up some. So we got some more tiles for Rolling Heights. We're excited about that. We were at Weird Giraffe Games and they were selling card sleeves and 3D wooden pieces for Big Easy busking. Hey, New Orleans. That game before, yeah. Yeah, we had a really good chat with the with the guy at Weird Giraffe and he's like, yeah, no

one, no one plays this game. And it's like it's it's under the radar. And I'm like, dude, it's awesome. And yeah, we're crazy about it. So so we got that. We did get a promo card for Gloom Haven. What is it? Buttons and bugs. So. Mini version there was there was an A promo card at Origins that you could only get at Origins and then there was one for Gen. Con. So we picked up since we got the one at Origins, we got the one at Gen. Con. So that was cool.

The guys at Party Tales, the designers of Time Lancers, which is which is working on fulfillment right now in terms of distribution, they had a promo of little upgraded components for the game. So we they weren't there on Sunday and I reached out to them. I was like, is there any way we can you know? So they gave Sam from Outrun the bear. No, that's what he gets. A promos as soon as we go to Yeah, right. I mean, this is a great community. That's all I'm saying.

It's great. You got to love them. We got some promo cards for Valiant Wars when we got the expansion, so that was fun. And of course, you know, I got the prestige card. Yeah. So those are the promos. So we had promos and games. That's. Good going. Yeah. Oh yeah. It's a good time, good time, right? And did you see any, we talked about Kickstarters a couple of weeks, was that last week before did you see? Any. We did Kickstarters or did you do any no play testing this time?

No play testing, no play testing that that heart that broke my heart. I like play testing but but I did see a couple of demos of games coming to Kickstarter soon, so the first one is Knitting Circle. Knitting flat circle? Is it a calico? Game it is. It's about kittens and quilting. Oh I love the artwork, it's really cute. It's calico style box. Well, it's it is the artist. 'S buttons with your V line friend. That is coming. 2025 it says. Oh yeah, Yep. So yeah. Kickstarter.

Yep. Yeah, it's nice. The next game we saw is by Dan Dan Kasar Kasar Kas. It's called Mischief. It's a card game. He is the designer of Arboretum. You know the card game Arboretum. There it is. Yeah, it's nice. This is coming out October 1st on Kickstarter. Encourage gnomes, sprites, ogres, and more to play mean tricks on one another. This game is cool. He was showing it to us and we were like, I gotta, I gotta have it. Schemers choose pranks to make enemies look bad at the royal

merry wedding. Yes, yes, it's very cool. So that's that's October 1st on Kickstarter. Yeah it's it's so cool. It's really interesting the way you play pranks. It's like if I play A1, if I have a #1 ferry and you play a #5 ogre, then you probably pull the prank. But if I have the number one ferry and the number 2 ferry, then the number 2 ferry is backing up the number one ferry. So you can't pull the prank. It's there's some interesting dynamics, yeah, interesting

dynamics in the game. So yeah, check that out October 1st and then another one coming out this fall, Everdel Duo. Oh yeah, I've seen that, yeah. The the two player version, oh man, look, it's what's. I prefer Everdel 2 player anyway, so what's? What's? Did you see it and what's different? So it's very similar. It's analogous to Tokaido Duo. It has a smaller table presence, but you still get the flavour. The resources are the same, the artwork is the same.

It's like a more of a compact version that doesn't take you three days to get its table because there's so much in the big box. Yeah. Exactly. And The thing is you have like a little sun marker and a little moon marker and it moves across the board from the left to the right. And if the sun makes it all the way, then then you can only take moon actions because you have sun and moon actions, day and night actions. Yeah, yeah. When you get to the end, everyone goes to the next season

together. It looks like a nice, yeah, compact version, maybe even good enough for traveling, you know, holidays or. I just, you know what? Get a never doubt fix without I would I would definitely take this Facebook. Yeah, I would agree with that. Looks nice. The last one that we saw that I'm really excited about, and that's Western Legends stories. Yeah, just look good. Oh my God, Gareth, it looks amazing. OK, so. This is standalone, right? It is.

It is totally stand alone. If you played Western Legends then you can go straight into this. It's legacy without destroying any components, so it's resettable. So that's not a problem. You have episodes instead of chapters and you don't play a named like in Western Legends. You might play Annie Oakley or Wyatt Earp or something like that. You don't have a name like you create your own name. You are just someone in the Wild West. And the map will expand over time.

So in the prologue, there are no minds. It's just you can, oh, oh, there's hunting. You can go hunting. You can interact with NPCS and they have an NPC deck, so they do things rather than just stand there. They will move. When bandits finally show up, they move. They don't just stand in that one spot. So you interact with NPCS, you can interact with animals, you can hunt animals. That's a new mechanic of the game. It looks gorgeous. Western Legends stories guys. Wow, they are hot tips.

Yeah, so we're coming towards the end. You must have some stats. I do. We had some stats. So you can how many people visited? You got those kind of stats. I do. I do. Well prepared PJ, let me get those stats. You know, for a data guy. I know, I know. You love these. You were one. Of No2 of because there's two of you 2 How many? 71,000 attendees. One was it's. 540 exhibitors. These are good stats. 24,000 events over the course of four days. 24,000. That's right.

And then this is probably the best stat. This is the one we want to celebrate. Slightly over $31,000 U.S. dollars was raised for various charitable. That's excellent. Efforts, yeah. So that that's really exciting. 24,000 events. Does that mean that if we had a 100 player game of Magic the Gathering, that would be one event? That's one event. Funny, it doesn't make sense. Very good. Sure it's not 50 events? No SO. Four thing or some events. Yeah.

So what it what it means is that you'll so let's say that you and I create a game, let's call it meeple to meeple the board game, right? And we're going to go and people sign up to play it like fully and it plays four players. So four people show up and play it. That is one event, four, but simultaneously there might be another table where four other people are playing. That's the second event. And if we do that twice over 2 hour windows over four days, 2468, right?

That's eight events. We could do more if we want, if time allows. And so X. Yeah, forty 44504 exhibitors doing demos 44 times with just about together. Oh, look. I mean, there's more than there's. I was trying to work it out. So here's a big. Number, but actually it's quite a small number. Now here's the. Here's the last one. Last one. Gen. Con 2025 is July 31st to August 3rd of next year. And listeners? Oh no. Yeah, I think we've got a clash. What do you mean?

No, hang on, bear with me. I've got you my diary. 2025. Yeah. July 31st. August 3rd date? Yeah. 27th. Did you say it was July? Oh, it's the weekend after. That's great. We're. Supposed to be at the the Belgium Grand Prix, but that's like until the Sunday. So that is that is a bunch of cars going really fast. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Skip that and get to Gen. Con Gen. Con Yeah. I know of at least. I know at least 71,000 other people. Other people. Will see you.

They want to see you. They want you to come. That's right. But July 31st, 5 days, I would just come on my own. I could do the what? Grand Prix is near. Yeah, it's all difficult. Anyway, we've got the date. July the 31st, August the 3rd, 2025. Sounds like you had a fantastic dime. It was, it was intense. It was good. There's so many people I didn't get to see though. That's the big disappointment. Yeah, and that's I had that feeling. Games Expo. You just you just. That's why. You.

Don't you? Don't do one day. Don't do one day. No. Do it all. Yeah, I think Sunday was a good day because it is quieter. Yeah, it is. It is. Yeah, that's about it. I still got for you. That's that's all I got too. I mean, there were some big names that I saw walking across the hallway, but I didn't get to talk to them there. So it's not, you know, don't want to mention because it's like I didn't get to see them and talk to them. So you know, you know, but yeah. Sounds good.

Yeah, so that is Gen. Con in one day, ladies and gentlemen. I don't recommend it. Closing tip for if you did it in a day. You drink a lot of water. You got to stay hydrated. We say it all the time, but you've got to stay hydrated. Find a hydration station. Yes, yeah, that's it. I mean, really, I'd say don't do it. 5. Do all four days if you can, more if you've got the time, so. It's good. Well, thank you PJ sharing I've got there's a few games that have landed on my Kickstarter

list now. Good, good. So next week, so this is episode 91. Next week, episode 92, I will be interviewing the wonderful designer Danielle Reynolds, Precaution Signs, which was released at Origins. But remind me to check the preorder, the preorder page it's still not available. It won the Best of Gen. Con award. It's so it's so on my list of things that I wanted before my holiday. I'm not around next week.

PJ is on his own for two weeks. Everyone, I'm on my Holly Bobs but I wanted it for holiday travelling and it's just some pre-order. I know, I know. Running out of time? Let's just check, make sure nobody else has got it in stock because you know, all pre-order could be after after Holly Bobs. Sorry. That's all right are. You you got anything special that you're any games you're going to play while you're on

holiday? Yes, that is one of the jobs for the rest of this week is how many board games can I put into small plastic containers and fit into a suitcase? Because currently, I think today it was 34, but wow, 3039° it felt like. So I don't mind. I don't mind sitting in the shade and just playing ball games for two weeks. Yeah. Yeah. Pretty good. You could do it if anyone could do it. Maybe I could take my no, it's too much weight.

Maybe I was thinking I could take my mic and I could record a podcast from my son lounger. I don't want you to do that so real quick Should we do? Oh, so two things really quickly. One is the voice over. We got to do that real quick. I'm pretty. You better choose do Star Trek. No, I've already chosen. OK, OK. So here's the thing, two weeks ago when we did it, I did a voice over and I had some people that couldn't recall what game it was.

I did one for Botany last week with Duck Somnium. So did you figure out what game it was that I read? Two weeks ago. Two weeks ago. It was the Mississippi. My brain's forgotten. Mississippi Queen. That's it. Mississippi Queen. It's had a reprint. I just worked that out. There were two versions. There's like an old version and a newer box. This is a game. This is a game I picked up at Gencon so I brought it with me. Have you mentioned any of? This today. I did, but I'm not.

Going to It's good, it's good, it's good. Here we go. Fill your house with cats, mice, and dice. Form rooms using numbers, then use the room's special abilities to score the most points. With four unique levels and random combinations of abilities, you get near endless replayability and new challenges every time. This is a quick and clever rolling right game with puzzly cats and dicey mice. Answers in the comments. Let us know what game did I read off and maybe I'll tell you next week.

Don't forget, right, OK, well, thank you for the for the voice over and absolutely have a good couple of weeks and then I'll see you when I get back. Yep, enjoy the holiday. Thank you very much.
