Episode description

If the future is female, then the change begins with our young people. La'Keisha Gomes of Beautiful Spirited Women stops by the studio to share about the importance of properly trained volunteers, knowing that your passions might be different than your skill-set, and why empowering the next generation of females is so critical.

Beautiful Spirited Women (BSW) provides girls and young women with a safe-haven platform to share their personal experiences with sex, drug abuse, domestic violence, low self-esteem, bullying, depression, and equips them with important life skills to advance in schools and workplaces. They offer a mentorship program for girls, ranging from 4-20 years old, in twelve cities across the country. While not all the girls involved are at-risk, BSW does focus on working with at-risk girls in low-income areas.

Tune in to learn about the impact BSW brings to the Memphis community.
