Hello everyone, we're a meme book club and we're coming at you with a promo for season 15. That's right, we're going to give you the book list, but first let me just tell you a little bit about us. Okay, meme book club, we read controversial New York Times Fistellers recommends to us fire listeners. We take them in, we chew them up, we spit them out.
You know, basically we're trying to go voice to all the haters who had to hold their tongues while others were gushing and in love at the book club. And so I think that's why it's only fair that in our promo we give some air time to the meaness reviews of our podcast. We're going to take, we're going to take on the chin. Yeah, no, this is going to be fun. So we got everyone here, I'm Sarah. You guys are a child. I'm Sarah. I'm Sabrina. Yeah, you guys heard all the names. As Larry's the host.
Yeah, great, great. So John, do you want to go again? No, I think Sarah tells you enough that they heard the names. I understand the premise by I think this is a terrible idea for a promo series. I think this is really fascinating. If we can, if we got, if we got to dish it out, we got to be able to take it. We're so little show. I'm not known to do it. All right. Let's go. All right, let's go first review. These are all taken from real reviews from Apple Podcast. All right.
Unknown says, may not super funny. Good premise, but not a lot of effort and jokes punch down. I think if there were more structure, a synopsis with more informed analysis and jokes along the way. One star. That's what we do. We do. We do. Let's stop analysis. Yeah, it's a long way. I saw my research. Okay. Here's what I heard. I heard that we have a really good premise and that we are elevated enough to be punching down at near kind of best dollars. Wow. Wow. That is a good way to take it.
Super good. Well, should I have a student who'd be able to handle this really well? All right. Here's another mean review. Jessa Sparkles. Yes. That's the name it said. She says, "I have a mean review." She says, "She says intentionally annoying. I want to like this show. I love the premise and some of the points made about writing, but the hosts are intentionally antagonistic towards one another and put on a door to a lot and put on a blinding superiority complex to see meaner.
The reenactments are embarrassing and cringe. Intotal. I just want to do it. Saying something cringe. Intotal. I just want to shut them up, which I can do by hitting the stop button. One star. That's a cool thing. She hit stop, but then she hits play again. Good. Download the download. I want to tell you it's not an act. When I say something mean about you guys, it's because I feel it in my heart. It's just a nice place to be able to let it out. I think it's honest.
Yeah. I feel like she doesn't have any real friends. She doesn't do any teasing with. I love being here. If I go somewhere and I get teased, I'm like, "Oh my God. I like to do the teasing. Once again, I'm not known for being able to do this. But I like. I agree. I think I fell in love with my husband because he could make fun of me. That was really what. Dreaming 2010. Yeah. I love you. To this day. Here we are. 15 years later. He still doesn't feel like you're harder than ever. Rips me apart.
All right. Nobody makes fun of me. And I'm okay with that. Since I was a small child, saying in my family has been clear. I can tissue that out. But she cannot take it. Well, it's good that you've waited this long to tell us. All right. Here's another one. Liv star 100 says very annoying. Doesn't get to the point. Trying too hard to be funny. Just a little bit out annoying one star. Okay. And you know what else? How can we both be not trying hard enough? And yeah, we're trying too hard.
It sounds like we're trying just the right amount. Actually. I'm trying really hard to be funny at all. We're less dark. Look, if we're annoying you, I really feel like that's on you. We're not standing behind you talking. I don't you turn. You've played. I know. I know. Don't even give out a seven in it. Turn around. All right. Good. If you weren't a fan already, this is definitely going to make you a fan. This is in the creative. You made it as far.
Let's give them the season book list, which is the scene that's going to start March 28th. Let's drop it. Please. I'm so excited. As you know, we take fan racks our first book recommended by fan me. I'm a patriot. I'm a patriot. So I get to vote. No one else on this promo gets to vote. Divergent by Veronica Raw. Then we're coming at you with the silent patient by Alex Mikali Davis. Coming up next. And absolutely remarkable thing by Hank Green. A man.
Wrong place, wrong time by Julia Mikala, stirred guess what she's British. Then one day in December by Josie Silver. Great. Then lessons in chemistry by Bonnie Garmin. No, remember ninth by Colleen Hoover. That's right. Colleen Hoover back again. Five pop. And now. A guy from the last season. We haven't read it yet. It's my vote for most boring book of the season. Wow. Wow. I'm ready. I think I'm going to be so bored by that book. That's why I guess we put it in the boring. Alright.
Wow. Just live. But still listen to the episode. Please. Oh, yeah. No, that's obvious. The episode. Great. It's going to be great. We're also going to have a Patreon only special TVD. Maybe probably movie based on a book. So tweet at us. Let us know what you want that to be. Because we're going to serve it to you in the next few months. Again, mean book club. Please leave a review on. But maybe a nice and less mean review than the ones. But I didn't mean. Apparently we read it up.
Okay. No, no, no, wait. You're right. Fuck, fuck, fuck. You're right. I'll never do that again. So don't try to keep us one star review with a funny mean thing. Because. You know what? Why do you give us a five star review? Five star review with a mean thing? Me as you want. We all came to the exact same thing. You should have just said that. I've got to go. If you give us five stars, you can say whatever. Yeah, yeah. And again, check out our Patreon. Become a patron of the mean. The mean arts.
Like me. All right. I like Sabrina. All right, guys. Anything else to add? Or see you guys in two weeks. Just that we love you. Just that we love you. Yeah, you can be mean and love. You can be mean and still love. Deeply. Think about that. There's a problematic message behind that. I'm hearing it now. And now. All right. See you guys in two weeks. Bye. Bye. Bye. [MUSIC]
