Episode description

Marvel Studios enjoyed its biggest year ever in 2019, and so did the fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Black Panther made history as the first superhero-based movie to be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. Captain Marvel, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home each topped $1 billion worldwide. Endgame actually did it twice on the way to becoming the highest-grossing film in global box office history! After The Infinity Saga came to a close, we learned all about Phase Four via Marvel Studios' Comic-Con and D23 Expo announcements. We spent a month worrying that Spider-Man was leaving the MCU before Disney and Sony finally got a deal done. Then, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige picked up the additional title of Marvel Chief Creative Officer, making him responsible for all Marvel creative on the big screen, small screen, and on the comic book page. We discuss all of these stories and more in this 2019 year-in-review!
