¶ Intro / Opening
I am here with Mary Dibble. She is a heart-centered coach helping overwhelm moms rebuild confidence and pursue their dreams. Welcome Mary.
Hey, thanks for having me. I'm excited to be here.
So Mary, what matters to you right now and what's the story behind it?
For me, what matters most is really embracing self love, self care, and self-acceptance as a mom. The reason is because as a mom, I lost myself. majorly once I became a mom and I became a mom at a very early age, I just felt like it was, I had to sacrifice. My dreams were put on the back burner. Myself was from the back burner. I felt like I didn't matter anymore. I already had struggles with that growing up as it is. I never felt good enough or like I was worthy of anything.
So growing up and finding myself, later in life. Even as a mom has transformed me in so many ways that I feel like it's so impactful and important of a topic for us to take serious as moms and understanding that we're only hurting our children, our everything, our lives. By not putting ourselves first, by not believing that we matter too. Like you matter too, just because you're a mom. That you're not just a mom.
Yes, it's a beautiful gift to be a mom and it's wonderful to have the children, but we have to role model first and foremost. And so it is very important that we take self-care and self-acceptance very seriously because our kids are watching and hearing everything we do and say, and that's gonna impact what they believe about themselves and how they grow up into adults. So I find it.
Crucial to really think about the way you're talking to yourself, the way you're believing about what's possible or not possible for yourself. Chasing after your dreams, really learning to accept you are who you are and there's nothing wrong with that. Embrace it. We're meant to be different. We're meant to be unique in our own ways, and there's beauty in all of that. And you just gotta find your way, your purpose.
But the only way to do that is by getting out there, trying new things, getting the help and support that you need for those of you who are going through trauma or for me I had a very low self-esteem. I never really loved myself. I always thought I was ugly. All sorts of things. I can name it all. I'm sure a lot of you resonate with that, but you know, at the end of the day, these are just lies. That we're taught or these stories that we tell ourselves.
So I'm just really passionate about helping people realize that you matter too. What you want matters. Your story matters. Everything you've gone through matters. It is all preparing you to become the amazing person you want to be. If you so choose to believe that and embrace that.
¶ Recognizing the Signs of Self-Neglect
How does, one know that they're going through this? what kinds of, things do they say to themselves where all of a sudden your external world matters more than you do?
It's all about how your outcome. Look at your reality right now and what's happening in your life? Do you feel fulfilled? Do you feel joyful? Do you feel like, yes, I'm really living life. To the best, to the fullest. And if you can't say yes to that, if you can't say I feel good in my skin, I feel good as who I am and everything I'm working towards, then that's pretty a big, that's a big sign that you know you're meant for more.
If you have that saying inside of you, sometimes people, you hear that voice, it's like, I know there's gotta be more to life than just this. There's just gotta be more than just surviving, right? And there's so many people around you look at the evidence of everyone who's thriving and succeeding and doing the things that they always dreamed of doing. So if they can do it, why not you?
Right. But as a parent, you sort of feel like. You want to put everything into your child, but you have to remind yourself that, that is not always healthy.
Yes, you can't pour from an empty cup you want. You wanna think that's the right thing to do because a lot of us has been conditioned to believe that's the right thing to do. But at the same time, if you don't take care of yourself first, if you don't put your oxygen mask on first, if you don't make sure you're taken care of, then the way you show up for your kids is not at all to the best.
I mean, think about how those times when you snap at your kids or you feel very a little resentful because you feel like you are putting so much into them, but you're not realizing that until you put yourself first, you really can't show up for them. And then also teach them through that example of what this possible for them and how they should love and respect themselves and honor themselves. Listen to themselves, believe in themselves, feel their feelings too.
'cause Lord knows we all suppress that a lot, yeah.
What do you do to
¶ Mary's Coaching Approach
help people get out of that?
I'm a life coach, so I love working with moms. Just helping them to really work on their mindset and really, really, really embody who the person, the version of themselves that they wanna be, but also really learning to enjoy the journey. Now as they expand themselves to receive that abundance and receive that, what's ready for them. I help them with goal setting, really figuring out their why and what, what is it they really want outta life. Why do they want it?
Allowing themselves to have that intrinsic motivation and find that for themselves so that they can actually take the steps. Because I'm all about baby steps. 'cause come on, let's be real. If you try to do things sometimes too, like too much, like we always have to feel like we have to do all the things, that sometimes deters you from actually getting stuff done and actually getting the results you want. So I really help moms to break things down.
And doable, steps so that they can start taking action and then start seeing the transformation slowly but surely, but creating that longevity of change and who they are and how they feel, and how they perceive the world so that they can just handle. All the ups and downs that come along with it, in the most, positive way. So that's my goal is to just support you, love on you, help you, guide you in any way I can.
Teach you the tools that I've learned myself, that I do, and implement that has changed my life. And find a way that makes it work for you in where you're at now.
Mary, thanks for sharing your story. Mary, thanks for sharing what truly
¶ Speed Round Fun
matters to you. Let's have some fun now with a quick speed round. You ready?
I'm Ready
Motherhood.
It matters for sure because it is the most important thing. We are the raising the next generation.
Work, life, balance.,
Matters because that is everything and how we live our lives and are fulfilled
Pickleball.
Matters. 'cause it's one of my favorite things to do right now. And it's such a great way to be exercise and have fun and be outside.
Yeah. And a great way to meet people.
Exactly. That is true.
You know, golf, which I am awful at, is another way too intense. Tennis too. It's too competitive. I guess pickleball is also competitive, but it's also, you could just be out there and, just be drunk,
Yeah, exactly. Let's just have fun though,
Burnout
matters because that is what keeps you from living your life and it keeps you from enjoying life.
Pizza.
That doesn't matter.
not a pizza fan.
That's okay.
Self-confidence.
Definitely matters for sure, because that is the strength behind everything that keeps us going and going towards our dreams in the life that we desire
Coffee,
Matters. I need that every day in the mornings. I love my coffee and I like it a certain way. That's just me.
Hiking.
It matters. I enjoy being outdoors. I think it's important for everyone to have time and experience in nature and get the exercise that we need for our bodies.
Education.
Matters, knowledge is power, right? So the more you educate yourself on things that you love or that's important in life, the further you get in life.
All right, so you'll pick four proverbial buttons. Okay. Serious, controversial, ridiculous, or fun. All right, so pick one.
Fun.
All right, underwater hockey. Imagine playing hockey on the bottom of a pool, snorkels fins, and tiny sticks where teams race to push a puck along the floor in a hilarious splash filled battle. Matters or not matters.
I'd say not matters. I'm claustrophobic. I couldn't even think the idea of scuba diving down there would freak me out.
I'm just gonna add, this will be ridiculous. Okay.
Yeah. It's too ridiculous.
All right. Extreme ironing first, what do you think it is?
Extreme irony. Oh, God, I, really don't know.
Yes, this is real. People climb mountain skydive or scuba dive just to iron clothes in the most outrageous places imaginable because why not combine danger and domestic chores? Extreme ironing matters, not matters.
I guess that matters. That is some brave stuff to do right there. Talk about, having fun with something you love to do. If you're an outdoors person, that is like perfect for you. Creative.
All right, let's do another. Diets love pass incident. In 1959, 9 hikers died mysteriously in the Russian Mountains.
Oh yeah.
do you know about
Oh gosh. Yeah, that was a crazy story. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, I watch ancient aliens, so they talk about it there too. But yeah, it was crazy. 'cause it's still a mystery of what happened to those people. The way they found their bodies, the way their tents was, there's just so much to it that's like, whoa.
So matters or not matters.
It definitely matters. 'cause it just, it's one of those unsolved kind of cases that's like really what happened to those people. And I'm very big on mystery and things like that. Criminal crime stuff. So interesting.
Okay, duck fashion show every year in Australia, actual ducks waddle down a red carpet in costume designer outfits. Yes, a literal runway show for farm animals. matters, not matters.
Oh goodness. Matters, I guess. Hey, animals deserve to have fun too, right? We get, to do it.
not matters. You're not
Not matters. I know it doesn't. Never see that, right? Not matters.
take a trip to Australia
know. Oh, definitely not. Definitely not. You're right. Not matters.
let's do one more.
Okay. This is fun.
yeah, it is.
This is why I love stuff like this. The way you get to meet people, the stories you get to
Anne, I never would've ever had known that you were interested in the diet, love, pass incident
Yeah. Yeah.
all right, I'm gonna ask you a serious one. Let's see what it comes up with. It said sand, mafias in a shocking global underworld, illegal sand mining, fuels construction, booms causing environmental destruction, corruption, and even murder over sand.
Wow.
That doesn't matter to you, I'm guessing, or it does?
I guess it doesn't affect me, but it does affect other people, so I, it's hard to say. It doesn't matter, I guess right now.
It doesn't matter to you.
Me, exactly.
You're not gonna start a nonprofit
Goodness. Yeah. Yeah. After that, there's a
