Episode description

FMEA is really a complex safety analysis method

My colleague, Praveen Suvarna will explain to us about FMEA in a very simple terminology in which everybody can understand.

Let's divide FMEA into four steps:

1. Design the structure tree

2. Come up with the function net

3. Failure net

4. Derive safety requirements

When it comes to functional safety, we cannot make a product 100% fault-free, which is not possible, which is also not the intention.

Rather we try to anticipate what can go wrong and we already have a safety mechanism in place when such things happen.

So that the risk associated with this kind of failures are kept in control or minimized
