Travel advisors are known to be extremely discerning travelers. No matter your specialty, your preferred destination, or the types of trips you like to book, we know how to pick a top hotel, a solid tour company, or a unique experience out from the pack. We can articulate with ease what separates one experience from another. We are well versed in cautioning clients about small details that may make a big difference in their travels. When a client asks, “Well, what do you think?”, we are ready with the pros and cons of different options, and we are prepared to talk to our client about how it’s more important to consider the value of a certain offering rather than the price tag. ⁠

But what if we remove the vacation itself from our interactions with clients? What if we consider the experience that we, as travel advisors, provide for our clients? Before they reach out to us, during those initial conversations, during the planning process, and after their trip. For our listeners, consider for a moment how might your current clients describe the experience of working with you? What adjectives might they use? What improvements might they suggest? When referring their close friends and family to you, what do they rave about when talking about the experience that you provide? ⁠
