Episode description

In the “Mastering the Game” podcast, host Jermaine Harris shares his thoughts on the movie “Madame Web.” Despite poor reviews, he went in with an open mind. The film revolves around Cassandra Webb protecting three students from the villain Ezekiel, using her clairvoyance power. Jermaine criticizes the use of ADR for Ezekiel’s dialogue, excessive shaky cam, and unnecessary angles. He also expresses disappointment that the girls never gain powers as hinted. Despite cool elements like Ezekiel’s black Spider-Man suit, Jermaine feels the movie’s execution fell short, leaving much to be desired. He speculates about the need for Sony to continue producing Spider-Man-related movies to retain rights but doesn’t foresee a direct sequel.
