Join us for a thorough discussion on an often overlooked cartoon and toyline!
On this episode we cover one of the less fondly remembered mini-comics.
Tyler and Nathan catch up, hang out and things take a surprisingly serious turn.
We're back with part two of appreciating the art of Earl Norem this time focusing on his many contributions to Savage Sword of Conan, Marvel and beyond!
It's been a little while since we've given MYP some love and now that the complete first season is available to view on YouTube what better time to kick back, relax and hopefully have an engaging discussion along the way.
On this episode we admire and deep dive into 41 Masters of the Universe and Princess of Power pieces produced by Earl Norem. We also discuss times we felt ashamed about our "geekdom", parts of our collection we'd save if disaster struck and so much more!
To make up for missing most of his guest spot last week Ren hangs out to talk about Ron Howard's sword and sorcery classic Willow!
A new ranking system is implemented, our guest of honor may or may not show up & a huge announcement! How much chaos will ensue on this tier list? Tune in to find out!
Guest David Igo joins us to show of Tweeterhead's Masters of the Universe statues, plans for the future and so much more!
Over 4 years ago Tyler and Nathan covered this episode on the ill fated "Capes and Commentaries" show. If Hollywood can reboot everything then why can't we? This time around though we've brought Joe and Rebekah with us to give their first impressions on this highly underrated and underappreciated cartoon. Weaponized Dinosaurs? What's not to love?
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! In a first for the Fans of Power podcast we decided to do a show on Christmas night. No topic, just a couple hours to hang out and have fun on one of the most peaceful nights of the year. Enjoy the show!
In this special episode we create a scenario where we're given the keys to the castle and tasked with coming up with a new iteration of the Masters of the Universe franchise. Are our ideas worthy of the greenlight or are we just another set of internet hacks? Enjoy the show!
This week we watch an episode of Dungeons & Dragons animated series together. Rebekah let's loose and Joe forgets his girlfriends name.
James Eatock joins the show and he's contributed full production storyboards to compliment our Shaping Staff episode spotlight discussion. He also unboxes the German release of Masters of the Universe and Princess of Power Blu-ray set to see what other goodies are included with the discs. Joe is late to the party and almost reveals his face to the world.
We decided to take it easy this week so we're just gonna hang out, take questions and let these leftovers settle.
This week we check out the one-shot comic when a certain Kryptonian was once again thrust onto another strange planet.
Joe, Tyler, Nathan and a returning Ren McKinzie determine where 30 of Spider-Man's greatest and not so greatest foes will land.
This episode is dedicated to the memory of longtime listener Michael Bell. Rest easy friend.
This years Halloween edition of the podcast has it all, a brief Crite invasion, poorly done re-enactments of scenes from Faerie Tale Theatre, Mighty Ducks, People Under the Stairs and of course some of the scariest moments in Filmation! Highly recommend checking out the video version on our Youtube channel to see our costumes and stills from some of the scariest moments. Enjoy!
Now that Joe will actually watch G.I. Joe after decades of putting it off we decided to switch it up and watch an episode together. Enjoy!
Taking the next couple weeks off from Fans of Power and we start it off by getting into the spirit of the season to find out exactly where things rank when it comes to the Friday the 13th franchise! The movies, their respective posters and the various designs of Jason Voorhees are up for debate in this surprisingly on topic discussion! Enjoy!
James Eatock returns to Fans of Power and he's brought along longtime collaborator and Associate Producer Dušan Mitrović with him......or is it another Joe Amato? (check out the youtube version to get the full effect)
While Rebekah takes the week off to recover from Hurricane Ian (she's safe, luckily only minor flooding) Tyler, Nathan and Joe revisit a fantastic mini-comic that was covered all the way back on episode 150, "Hordak - The Ruthless Leader's Revenge". A misunderstanding with the live chat turns Joe's stomach forcing Tyler and Nathan to fend for themselves which is why this one is almost 3 hours long. :) Little bit of everything in this one. Enjoy!
After a week of waiting the record is set straight as to what exactly happened to the real Joe when he came face to face with his own Faker. The relief however is brief as Joe quickly feels the wrath of Nathan's........mom?! Things take a turn when discussing Bow's womanizing, swash-buckling personality. Joe show's off more old technology but we let him off the hook because he finally watched something we've been recommending to him for months, maybe years at this point.
Audio hiccups and technical issues galore in this chaotic episode of Fans of Power. A tale of two Joe's. Who is the real Joe Amato? We may never know. Tom Bryski returns to show off concept characters picked by us reimagined in Classics style art. It's a long one, better put on a pot of coffee.
Both parts of House of Shokoti are viewed and discussed but not before listening to the newest message received from the great beyond! Also, parking lot hot dogs. Yes, it has to do with Joe. You're completely shocked aren't you? Enjoy the show!
Not gonna lie things get a little abrasive a few minutes into the show. If you're super into Masterverse and Origins right now you'll probably get a little annoyed about what is said but I promise it does have a good ending. It's important to talk these things out and at least try to understand where others are coming from. There are laughs to be had as usual, just wanted to give a bit of a warning if anyone bothers to read these before clicking on the episode. Enjoy the show!
Follow Ren on Social Media! https://www.facebook.com/RENMCKINZIE https://www.instagram.com/ridingartist renmckinzie@gmail.com Tyler may have finally met his match as artist Ren McKinzie joins us to discuss his craft, quitting his job to follow his passion, why he hasn't drawn his best piece yet and passes along some words of wisdom to those looking to do the same. Joe of course gets roasted, toasted and burnt to a crisp. Enjoy the show!
More dead Gnuccis and more spent bullet casings littering the pavement as the Punisher continues his merciless, no holds barred, war against scum in the newest episode of "The Spinner Rack"! We also contemplate what would be the better way to get in an animal attack movie and because it's comics we of course have to rant a little about the current state of the MCU. Hope you enjoy it!
Hot off of last week's tier list Nathan, Tyler and Rebekah continue celebrating the potential New Adventures possessed by talking about the 3rd mini-comic released with the toyline "Battle For The Crystal". We also dabble in ideas we'd like to see in the MCU and play a very interesting voice clip that once again mysteriously found itself in Nathan's inbox. Enjoy!
