I now require people who want to participate in a research study that helps me explore the built environment and how we build it . In a more research project which looks at everyone's perspectives on the global mass timber construction market .
I'm looking specifically at carbon reduction strategies , market drivers , especially focusing on imperative shifts towards low carbon practices in the construction sector from a socio-economic , environmental and housing markets perspective . There's three parts to the research .
You can do the online international survey so anyone in the world can participate in that , and then there are interviews and focus groups available for people only as residents in Australia . If you'd like to participate in this particular research proposal and project , you can head to the Mass Timber Construction Journal LinkedIn feed and look for the details there .
And the team at Next Timber , which is part of Timberlink , have just announced that the South Australian government has committed to sourcing its mass timber from the next timber plant . Details of the media release from Timberlink are available on our social media feed . So head to our LinkedIn and you'll be able to see the media release .
And we feature a project which is a timber house , or lint wood house , in Berlin's Schoenberg district . It is a creative living concept which is in the metropolitan location , featuring lifestyles for the future as a key theme . The new multi-story apartment block is located in the busy southwest of the city . It is created as part of an urban development project .
The area known as Schoenberg is described as a neighborhood between the railway station and the commuter train area , in an urban quarter that is slated to rise in the area by 2025 . So if you'd like to go and see some interesting photos of these mass timber buildings in the middle of Berlin head to our LinkedIn feed .
We've always maintained that insurance and the banking industry will be a great contributor to the advancement in mass timber construction , and that is no more true than it is in British Columbia with the insurance corporation of British Columbia , the ICBC corporate head office , about to move into and relocate to the corporate hub of the Hive at 2050 Keith Drive , which
is located immediately adjacent the VCC Clark Station on Skyrail's Millenia Line , which is currently under construction at the intersection of 6th Heath and Keith Drive .
The Hive is a 10-story mass timber office building and the team at Wood Central are reporting that Under Armour has a date for the move-in to their first wave of the corporate office that will be at Tide Point and Locust Point for a purpose-built facility which is five-story , being nearly complete , a mass timber design that has allowed the crews to reduce the
bottlenecks that are delivered in traditional project and produce at a rapid pace .
The 26,000 square meter building is made up of CLT and it is spearhead by the architectural firm Gensler , and JJ Rivers , who's a principal and director of Gensler , spoke to the Wood Central team , so if you'd like to go and see some more amazing images on the Teammate Building 2 building , which is setting new net zero targets by reducing embodied and operational
energy and carbon , and you can see the design on our linkedin feed . Or head to wood central and read the article . And after three years of constructing and 30 000 square foot residence hall , the 46-bed eco-friendly building called Collins House was designed by Opal Architecture of Belfast and the mass timber structure was installed by the affiliated company Opal Bill .
The structure is blown in wood fiber insulation from the main company in timber , hp , which sources small diameter pulp trees , residual chips and the state produces rigid insulation . And the mass timber building has these infill walls collins . House sequestered biogenic carbon is expected to perform to passive house energy standards .
