Amidst the carnage of the First World War, Lenin characterised capitalism as “horror without end”. Today, the grim truth of that statement can be seen in the proliferation of brutal conflicts around the world from the industrial slaughter of civilians in Yemen, to the intensification of the proxy war between NATO and Russia in Ukraine.
