The following podcast contains strong language and adult themes and is intended for a mature audience. Listener discretion is advised. Previously on Marvel's Wastelanders, Doom. Metal Man! Tried to kill Hulk. And I have been waiting for a second chance for 30 years. Goodbye, Hulk. I prefer Banner, Victor. You were so proud of yourself for getting this far that you really fell for the old Hulk smash bit, didn't you? But you ran from me. You said it yourself.
The radiation in this place weakens the cube's defensive capabilities. And now you lie in a heap. And this... No, no, no! This ought to be a fun toy to play with. Hulk. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Recorder 3B02, instrument of the Rigelian colonizers. I was programmed to align myself with the most powerful being on Earth and chronicle their activities. Doom is no longer that being. What are you going to wish for? Let's find out.
What's with the impatience? Are you concerned because Valeria is not here to save you? Or is it because you're afraid of what I will wish for? He expects you to kill him with the Cosmic Cube. Oh, I plan to. I'm just trying to decide on the most agonizing way to do it. I want you to know the kind of pain I endured when you turned me into this. You should be grateful. I improved you. I was losing my mind.
My friends tried to siphon my radiation to try and get me back to myself, but it didn't work. They could not handle your rancor, could they? You saw them! Most could barely hold a conversation. No sensible being would choose to live in an area surrounded by death. We didn't choose to live in a dust bowl. We got pushed out here. People got scared of us. Our rage. No one wants to be here. But we've been stuck here for 30 years because of you!
It appears you and your friends have not done any maintenance on this facility since you moved in. We have had other concerns. Why would you want to live in a nuclear reactor? It's a reminder of that day. of my rebirth. And now, you will witness my evolution for a second time. Nothing is happening. Is that all you wished for? To double in size? I wish to become the most powerful being on Earth. You're not gonna like what I'm going to do to you.
Marvel Entertainment and Sirius XM present Marvel's Wastelanders Doom. Chapter 10. I am a god. Why did you just hit the wall, Hulk? It has become clear that Hulk has descended into madness. Oh, I've never felt better. Just wanted to test out my new strength. And it looks like this cube... did its magic. Your physical strength does not make up for your lack of shrewdness. One of many things I have advantage over you. You got a bad habit of underestimating everyone.
I give proper assessments. Careful now. You're not the most powerful anymore. Oh-ho! I see you still have some tricks behind your cape. What is that? A gun? It is not a gun. It is the coma cannon invented by Reed Richard. How pathetic! You need Mr. Fantastic's help because you can't fight your own battles. Careful now. It isn't a good idea to threaten me, especially at this point. Are you fearful that you will not be able to control your anger?
I'm scared there won't be anything left of you when I'm done. Come, Paper Tiger, let us hear you roar. Don't say, I didn't warn you. The coma cannon would appear to be highly effective. I advise caution, however. My scans indicate that Hulk's vitals are alarmingly stable. Do not play me like a fool, recorder. I can see through your obsequious behavior. My observations are unbiased. However, I can deduce that you are bothered by my statements. An imprecise calculation, I assure you.
Then why is your heart rate faster than normal? Because of jubilation. For I have obtained what I have been searching for. The cosmic cube? More than that. Complete power to change reality from what it is to what it ought to be. This must be unsettling to you. One second, you are the most powerful. The next you awake with me, Lord Victor Von Doom, over you. With the Cosmic Cube! You've always overestimated how clever you are. Wish for whatever you want. It won't change your outcome.
Your mask is radiating. What was your wish? I wish to be one with the cosmic cube. To have it infused with my mask. To make me impenetrable. You think that's going to save you? Dome does not need saving. You, on the other hand... Speaking of hands, let me test out this new strength. That's quite a punch. You're still able to speak? Ah, this mask is hulk proof. My hand, it stings! Are we...?
Are we in the Redwoods? Why, you sound so surprised. You took us here. I did not wish to be transported to the northern Pacific coast. You're... Mask is... blowing. All weird. Huh? Is it possible? Is the will... The strength of the Hulk so mighty that brute physical contact with the cube in this form actually warps reality? Wouldn't hurt to give it another go. Ow!
My hand, it's burning! It appears to be a radiation burn. Your punches are having the opposite of your intended effect. Why did you take us to a bar? Outpost 13. Sounds familiar. Ain't that the Hulk and Duke? Me, Hulk. I mean, yeah, it's me, the Hulk. Ah. Interesting syntax. Why do you care about how I talk? What are you doing? Teleporting us to random places. I told you, the cosmic cube triggers each time you strike it. Have a care, though. Every blow seems to leave you further damaged. Oh.
You think you can survive another punch? Uh, try me. breathe. The negative zone. He's trying to suffocate me. Hulk, your fist withering. I won't let you. Kill me! are insane. You don't get to call me. Repeating the same action and expecting different results is the very definition of insanity. But by all means... Keep swinging. How's this? Is that all you have in you? Is this Valeria's ranch? Uh...
All your threats are empty to me. I didn't think you cared about anyone more than yourself. But I was wrong. She means a lot to you. Don't you? Do you mean doesn't she you try to get her? Huh? What was I saying? Oh, Bruce. Look at you. You can barely stand. Let alone complete a sentence. Your mind and body deteriorate with every forceful blow. You ain't looking too good either. It looks like your mask is about to crack, Doom. And when it does...
I'm gonna take the cube and come back here to finish off the Fantastic Four lineage. You cannot survive another impact. Same could be said for you. You will end up just like the rest of your friends. You were the one who killed them. They were already blundering toward the grave. Just like you. Take this! I... handle any further contact with the cube. It isn't simply your body that's damaged. Judging by your degrading speech pattern, so is your mind. No! Hulk! I mean...
I survived the heart of a nuclear reactor. Now the cube can destroy me? Dumb, shiny mask can hurt Hulk? Doom's mask seems volatile. I recommend he return it to its natural form. No! Hulk, smash mask! Hulk, throw strongest punch ever! This does not seem wise. No! No! The mask has returned to its normal state. Never mind the mask. Here! Look what has happened to the cube. There are fissures all over it. It is glowing irregularly. It is badly damaged!
My scans indicate your entire body is suffering fourth-degree burns. Your heart rate has reduced significantly. You insufferable brute! Cosmic Cube's energies have become erratic thanks to your irrational actions. The reliability of its power may be permanently compromised. I may be able to execute some minor repairs. The cube is useless in the hands of a machine. I will entrust you with it.
That is sorely missed music to my ears. A mortal foe groveling for doom's mercy in the face of death. Is that what you beg for, Hulk? Mercy? Granted. I'll sing it out. I bestowed upon him the mercy of a quick death. It does not matter. My assignment is complete. I was programmed to align myself with the most powerful beings on Earth as a scout on behalf of the Rigelian Empire. My duties were to survey Earth for possible domination and the ultimate extraction of resources.
And so you have. You misunderstand my statement. Doom holds the cosmic cube. There is no question as to who is Earth's supreme power. Incorrect. The cube is currently in my possession, and my evaluation has determined that even the most powerful people on Earth are deemed unworthy to further its history. What? Your battle with Hulk was the final bit of data I required. Conclusion. All Earthlings are identical. They all want the same thing. Control.
But they are selfish in their goals. Humans will eventually cause their own demise. Therefore, in the name of my distant masters, I shall begin cleansing this world in preparation for Rigelian acquisition. Now initiating directive SWB 100804. Retrieving device from chest cavity. What is that? It appears to be a remote of some kind from its design.
It resembles an artifact from the Cold War era. Now, when we went into Maximus' missile silo to deactivate the warheads, you took something, did you not? Correct. This apparatus is designed to launch the multitude of LGM 30 Minutemen 1 ICBMs that Maximus kept in his nuclear silo. And? Here. No. No! Give me that! I have no reason to retain it. It has already been activated. Approximate time of arrival.
6 minutes and 22 seconds But even you cannot escape such a nuclear blast Incorrect. I have booster rockets that will allow me to retreat to a safe location It seems you will not die alone, Victor Von Doom. That can't be the missiles already! Unless I am mistaken, that is the sound of Valeria's Quinjet arriving. No! No, no, no!
I've had enough, Victor. I'm not leaving here without the cube. Valeria! Recorder, send her away! How? As stated, I cannot activate the cube. I can, however, keep it from both of you. We'll see about that. While you were dealing with the Hulk, I grabbed some additional firepower. I don't know how you got your hands on that thing, but a hypersonic blast ought to shake it loose!
Wave dampeners protect me from sound-based attacks. I am confident I can keep both of you at bay until the missiles arrive in five minutes and twelve seconds. Wait. What missiles? The recorder has summoned the nuclear arsenal of Maximus! Are you presenting that axe as a threat? It was good enough for the executioner. It's a god killer. Very well. Valeria, be cautious.
She is quite formidable with those lasers. I know. Observation. If you choose combat, you will lose. I'm immortal, remember? What are you gonna do? Kill me? Valeria, you are forcing me to discharge my weapon. I figured. That's why I made a quick stop to the White House to grab this. A shield painted to resemble a bullseye? All the easier to target. Lasers firing. Not just any shield. It belonged to a hero named Captain America.
Invulnerable. You have amputated my arm. Hand over the cube or I'll cut your head off. I do not surrender in any capacity. I thought you were one of the good ones. End of recording. Quickly, hand me the cube. You're kidding, right? Valeria, I doubt it remains powerful enough to shield us from nuclear missiles, but it can transport us to safety. Us? What do I owe you? What was that? A binding spell. Now...
Wherever you go next, you will take me with you. You think I'm going to leave? That's hysterical. Do not joke. We have mere minutes before... I have a confession to make, Victor. You've misjudged me all along. I never wanted the Cube to bring my family back to this hellhole of a world. What? For 30 years, Victor. For 30 years, I have been the smartest person in the world by a factor of 10. Can you imagine how lonely that's made me? Can you?
Decades of disconnect and solitude, decades of being unable to find anyone else who could see the world as I see it, who I could truly share myself with. Who could understand me? Doomed to that fate for all eternity. No, Victor! I didn't want the cube to bring my family back. I wanted it to take control over my death. You want to use the cube to end your life? You're oversimplifying it. I wasn't able to control the outcome of the people I loved. And now...
All I want is to have control over my own life. That includes how I choose to end it. You of all people should be able to understand that. The need to control one's fate. Do you believe the cube to still have that power? What does it matter? You think even the immortal girl can survive an atomic blast? You don't want this, Valeria. Oh, I... Did? Desperately. But you know what? I have another confession. Back in Hulk's fortress, when he killed Johnny, for that split second...
I was so very terrified that he'd kill me, too. And that's when I realized I don't want to die. Not really. So... You'll be pleased to know that you've inspired me to a new goal. Which is? You were never intended to be more than a means to an end for me. But you've shown me... that there's far more potential than I'd ever imagined in being the world's only living genius with a cosmic cube at her command. I have all sorts of new ideas about what to do with it.
The question is, do they involve you? You are my goddaughter. I care for you. Rule one, never trust doom. Valeria, we have two minutes at most. Transport us! The binding spell! If I die here, so do you. If I live, so do you. So I guess it all comes down to how much I hate you for all the torment you've put me through. You could never truly hate me, Valeria. I care. I do. And I will never leave you lonely. Alright then. Cube, let's go. Alright. Alright. It didn't work.
Why didn't it work? It remains flawed. Give it to me. I know it better than you. I alone can command it. No, I don't believe you. Valeria, I can see the missiles approaching. Stop struggling. Give me the cube! No! Valeria! I don't trust you! I'm not letting it go, but lay your hand on it. See if you can do it. Make the wish!
I told you I could make it work. For you? You're disappearing, but I'm not. Victor, what is happening? I'm sorry, child, but I broke the bonding spell five seconds ago. Farewell. Victor! It is I who does not trust you. However, I do have one final wish for the cube, Valeria. I hope that your fate brings you the peace you have so ached for. There should be sufficient distance from ground zero. Three. Two.
The cube is gone, but Doom has achieved his vengeance against the Hulk and removed him from the chessboard that is this planet. Other foes remain, but they too will fall before me. As ever, Doom perseveres! to chronicle this moment, the final victory of Victor Von... light amidst the settling dust. Oh, soon will I open my senses to that distant sight. No. No. At the epicenter, where the ground itself is fused to glass, there seems to be... movement. Imp...
Hello, Victor. Valeria, you survived. And the cube? Protected me. It isn't done with this world. And neither am I. But we are done with you. An energy barrier. And it's spreading. Better run, Victor. You're on your own. Good luck finding anyone else to trust Doom. Oh, no. Stop. Stop. What would you do? What you couldn't. Create a perfect world. I want the world of heroes back again. I do. So you're asking me on a road trip? They are coming here. Wolverines! I'm not playing your game!
Black Widow. Something big's going on here, huh? Star-Lord. We're likable guys. Hawkeye. Okay. So, we're all here. We've all been assembled. Valeria Richards. The great Victor Von Doom. Yeah, whatever. We're all friends. One big happy family.
