Peter summarizes his message to believers living amidst a dark world in these two succinct verses. The God of all grace has called us and is working in us through suffering and trials to perfect our faith. These glorious truths deserve Peter's doxology in verse 11 as he ascribes all glory and dominion to God alone. May we as believers see suffering in light of eternity, and use this life to magnify the greatness of our God. Support the show...
This text presents an interesting study as we see God's sovereign judgment and man's responsibility both on full display. David's sin necessitates the judgment of God on himself and on the children of Israel (as they had also sinned prior to this occasion); however, David knew that he was much better off in the merciful hands of God rather than in the hands of his enemies. Shammah's defense of the pea patch God had given him was not a result of an insane affinity for peas. He understood the importance of obedience as a soldier and stewardship as a member of God's family. As a result, Shammah stood and fought to defend the land that belonged to the Lord that he was given. His desire was to use what was rightfully God's for God's glory. Support the show
This series seeks to understand what the Bible says about a variety of subjects that are commonly debated within the church and society today. The first lesson is about truth; a word that was once universally understood, now means different things to different people. This lesson will discuss the nature and sources of secular truth and contrast that with the revealed truth of the Bible and the way that believers ought to understand truth. Support the show...
Josh gave a wonderful update about the work that is going on in Senegal, and then preached a challenging message from Mark 3 encouraging believers to spread the good news of Christ, even to those who are adamantly opposed to Him. Support the show

Satan attacks as a roaring lion, and the believers scattered throughout first century Asia needed to be aware of his attacks. If they would remain sober, stay alert, and stand first in their faith, they would be able to resist his attacks. Believers today face the same enemy and are in desperate need of the warning that Peter gave them. Support the show

The grace of God that David experienced throughout his life caused him to praise the Lord for his deliverance in verses 1-20 of 2 Samuel 22. David goes on to describe for us how his life has changed in response to God's grace. David was far from perfect, but he now attempted to live a righteous life in obedience to God in response to God's amazing grace. Support the show
