Episode description

In a world where fast fashion dominates the industry, Narrative Threads challenges the status quo. An initiative, created by Rathna Kalyanaraman, Narrative Threads works with cooperatives and collectives in India who are using traditional methods to create sustainable clothes and accessories. Narrative Threads encompasses more than just bringing products to market; they are preserving centuries’ old weaving, dyeing and skilled artisan methods, reducing environmental impact and sharing the stories of these communities. You can read more about Narrative Threads and view the products at narrativethreads.co.

Making It Here and There is an interview series focusing on ways in which individuals are using communication- across borders and across cultures- to achieve understanding, learning and overall consciousness of the world around us.
