Kicking off our special month of August, we have hip hop artist from Toronto, Shan Vincent de Paul. Earlier this year, while touring in India, he came in for a chat along with Yanchan who accompanies on mridangam. Shan talks about his family’s immigrant story from Jaffna, Sri Lanka to Brampton, Ontario, his daughter’s beatboxing skills, being a Tamil in Canada, and the brown artist renaissance. Also, Shan and Yanchan perform their mridangam raps too.
