In this episode Raquel and Jennifer speak with Silvia Dutchevici, a psychotherapist, mental health expert, author, and founder & president of the Critical Therapy Institute. Silvia created critical therapy on perceiving a need for the theory and practice of psychology to reflect how race, class, gender, and religion intersect with psychological conflicts. This is a really important discussion about intersectionality as an integral part of who we are; as such, it should be factored into our relationships to our therapists as well as to the field of therapy as a whole. It's often said that the personal is political; that said, psychology and therapy are never apolitical.
