They discuss the emphasis on democracy for both Taiwan and Australia, the potential for more cultural and indigenous diplomacy, and the role that United States and China play in shaping Australia-Taiwan relations.

Dr Chen Jie is an Associate Professor in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Western Australia.

Dr Sophie McIntyre is a Senior Lecturer at the Queensland University of
Technology and an established art curator.

Dr Roger Huang is a Lecturer in Terrorism and Political Violence at Macquarie University.
